I plan to make Midnas Imp form from Zelda: Twilight Princess and am having some trouble with the body suit. Heres a picture: http://www.knightsofhyrule.org/fan/midna/images/off/midna01.jpg

I'm debating on if I should make my own or just buy two body suits and just do cut outs of one color and add it onto the other suit (like cutting out parts of a white one I need and then just sewing them onto the black one....if that makes sense)

I was hoping you guys could help me or someone whos made this cosplay before could explain to me what they did.

Thanks so much!
~Sam

Have you considered painting a white body suit with fabric paint/dye? You'd need to be very careful doing it so the colors didn't bleed but I think it would look better than sewing 2 suits together.

I have but from what people I have talked to and seen of their own attempts painting ends up cracking and falling off and dying I wasn't able to figure out how to only do the white parts.

Hey samtoenail, these two patterns have helped me with my Pride Lands Sora from KH2 cosplay. The two patterns are Kwik Sew Pattern 3455 (Pants veiw A) and Kwik Sew Pattern 2341 (leotard veiw A). These two patterns are the best for any two-legged creature or four-legged animal.

Now, I think that 2341 is out of print, which is, imo very strange, but I've seen other patterns that could help you with this cosplay. Try these if they are any better for you:

Kwik Sew
Pattern 3661 (leotard and leggings)
Pattern 3502 (leotard veiw A) and use Patten 3455 of pants veiw A

Pattern 3273 (leotard veiw A) just do some adjustments to the back and add the Pants veiw A from Pattern 3455

Pattern 3052 (Unitard veiw A)
Pattern 2722 (Unitard veiw A) just do some adjustments to the back

Alright, I hope this helps out. If not anything, I hope this gives you some good ideas to help you. Good luck:bigtu:

I'm pretty sure that a fellow site member recently did the same character, they'd probably have the best suggestions for how to handle it (stitch or paint). try looking in the showcase costumes. If I find the link I'll post back.

EDIT:
ah, it was Photoshoots, not Costumes:

in the process of looking for that I found these, which may also be helpful:

Calico (http://www.cosplay.com/costume/106149/) did a great Midna imp using a white bodysuit and liquid fabric paints. The paint is more like a dye so it sinks into the fabric and won't crack or peel off.

As long as the paint you use is fabric paint then it shouldn't crack or flake off.
