Everytime I see a Hetalia cosplayer I always see them caring a giant flag.
Where can I get one?
I might do Hong Kong

You can buy 5' flags, usually online unless you have a local flag specialty retailer.

....Or, depending on who you're doing, you can go to your local American-(insert any country here) Cultural Arts Festival and pick up a flag. For example, the German-American Club here in Southwest Florida sells German flags in about 4 different sizes during Oktoberfest. San Diego is the jackpot city...just go to Balboa Park and talk with the various "countries" in the International Cottages. If you're Sealand, though, you'll be out of luck ;-)

And my mature adult comment: Many of you already know this....but just in case someone doesn't.....even though these flags are "props" for your cosplay, don't forget that they are symbols of an actual nation and deserve to be treated with respect. Please look up proper flag etiquette before using one :-)

Not everybody knows this, but google has a pretty cool feature called "Shopping" that will let you find shopping results for searches you've done. The beta version was called "froogle" and I'm not sure what made them change it, but the idea is essentially the same. If you type "large flag hong kong" into google shopping ( www.shopping.google.com ), you'll get a bunch of results with a number of places to buy flags from. The first result that pops up is amazon via BCnovelties, which is a company I have bought stuff (a flag license plate) from.

For the future, what I'd recommend is keeping an eye out during any type of sports.
For example during the world football cup, I bought an England flag in the store. You can't buy them the rest of the year but you could find them everywhere then. :)

Hello! I have seen some internet sites that sell/produce flags in many size standards, but my Italy flag was literally made from green, white and red tissues I took
Try a dressmaker or someone who can make a good painting or incuse~ Anyway, in my case I prefer to have something very well made for my cosplays~

I bought my 3x5 Austria flag on eBay for only about five dollars total. A steal, really, and it's a fine quality flag. Make sure you press it on low heat when you receive it, though, before flying it to get all those icky creases out.

Also...please take care of it! Don't sit on it or stand on it or let it fall on the ground!

I got my Lithuanian flag (not too big, maybe 18"-2' long) at a con actually. There was a dealer selling flags, probably because they knew that there would be Hetalia cosplayers who couldn't find the ones they wanted. I've seen dealers selling flags at a different con, too, so if worst comes to worst and you can't find any flags before the con, look in the dealers' room. You might end up preferring a smaller flag anyway...I always think those large ones must be a pain to manage.

Nth-ing the E-bay suggestions. I myself found the flags me and my friends need for fairly cheap, i think 6 bucks with free shipping? Prussia's was a bit more expensive because his required shipping but the BTT flags are on their way to my house as I type ;D

Now to get my old colorguard pole from my friend so I can carry it on that :> and school myself into not being tempted to do spins and tosses out of habit. No way I wanna disrespect a flag D8 -hates it when people use them as blankets and such-

You'll find tons on Ebay or you can buy them from Amazon too, I bought my Canada flags (One large and one smaller one on a stick to wave) from there.
A Google search will also find you tons of more places to buy them online.

Hmmm... I agree with you, but will it be alright if you dont put your flag in a pole and just carry it (folded neatly) on your lap?
I've been to these cottages in Balboa park, but do you think they could tell me where to get a Seychelles flag? DO you know where to get a Seychelles flag?

I'm glad people are supporting proper flag etiquette. it's upsetting to see people treating them poorly.

My very large Austrian flag is on a homemade flag pole but it never ever touches the ground. I've yet to take it a convention, though, for fear of impeding other peoples' movements or thwacking them with it.
