Okay, so in a few months my local anime store is going to have a huge zombie walk/march thingo. They are encouraging everyone to come in zombie style cosplays (horror films, horror games, ect) so I thought I could go as a Bubble Head Nurse from Silent Hill (refs):

Yeah. Creepy faces, huh?

The problem is, I am so flat out sewing my cosplays for next year that I would reeaallllyyy prefer it if I didn't have to squeeze in another costume to sew. So I am thinking of just buying a nurse dress and modifying it. I am having trouble finding a suitable dress though. I can make the hat, I just want the basic dress. I want something that isn't ridiculously expensive, but I don't want it to be too crappy, because I am planning on using it for other zombie marches throughout the year. Help, please?

btw, I know a lot of nurse costumes out there are kinda slutty. I would prefer something a little more modest (even if it isn't exactly accurate...I mean, the bubble head nurses are wearing revealing dresses anyway)

They might have a couple nurse outfits on ebay and amazon. It might take a little time to filter out the more revealing ones, but I imagine there should be a few that are a lot more modest and sell for a pretty decent price.

I'd say that your issue is the fact that the silent hill nurses wear the vintage style nurse dress, which is just a little difficult to find these days. On a lighter note in case you want to reconsider, it is incredibly fast and easy to make shirtdress styled dresses (I made my silent hill one in about 5 hours without stopping). So if you do want to consider adding in one more costume to sew, I think it'd be a nice balance of your time. But if you really dont, I pulled this up. It's on pretty big sale but it doesn't look too bad. It's a bit too white, but you could always dip it in tea water to stain it dirty tan (yes, that really works!)

I really hope this works out for you. It's an awesomely fun cosplay!
