Hiyo,

Well, I'm gonna be Vincent Valentine, and I'm working on pulling off a convincing crossplay. I've taken precautions for my appearance (My family was a bit surprised at how well I pulled it off), but my problem is the way I move. Vincent is a bishounen (IMHO, anywayz - there are those who say not) and body language is a curiousity to me. How should I walk and move? And then, for pictures, how should I pose that would be "bishie" but not too feminine? Vincent is a guy, but I'm not sure which way to go.

Any suggestions? Please? :woah:

My best advice is watch guys move... for me, walking like a guy is actually becoming more natural than walking like a girl because as I make long walks across campus I practice my movement... as for poses.. don't do any "cleavage" poses.. ;P It's best to simulate poses you've seen him do in the game or in FF art.

Guys tend to walk with their legs further spread apart, whereas girls' tend to walk more in a straight line, with one foot in front of the other. Guys also sit in chairs with their legs apart, and when they cross their legs, it's usually with their ankle on top of their knee.

Oh, and guys stand with their legs futher apart, too. Guys also don't play with their hair. When guys get either nervous or bored, they rhythmically bounce, like tap their foot, or bounce their leg. And guys don't sit on their legs, or sit in weird positions in their chairs.

Oh, and guys don't do anything that looks like it requires flexibility. Like sitting and putting their elbows on the chair seat.

Look at the picture below.

Scortia - Lol...No, I don't do "Cleavage" poses to begin with. 0^.^0''' This is my second costume (Sad, yes, I know) and my first was a strict militant character. I will practice the walk, too - maybe on the treadmill. 0^.^0''''' As for poses, I'm mostly going to flaunt the claw in defensive poses. I might do some Bishie poses, if requested.

AniMajor - ...Wow. Okay, that helps! 0^.^0''' I knew about the walking thing, but I really hadn't noticed the way guys sit. The pic helps a lot, too.

Both really helped! Anyone else have any tips? Besides myself, I am also asking for my friend's sake - it's her first crossplay coming up, too.

Ooh, nice Vincent, I'm making one fer mi bro (Mwa, with intentions to steal it and crossplay latah), I may PM for advice^_^
Aniwho, for bishi posing, given that you're alreadi a girl, I always kinda thought just do yer best to be guy-like and yer natural girliness will make the bishi part... I don't know that there's actual Bishi poses... and if there are, I wanna know! *loves cosplaying za bishies...*

Lol, thanx, Hitori. I was *thinking* along the same lines, but Vincent is a bish, minus some of the bish ATTITUDE, I think. 0^.^0' That's why I'm just asking. Thought this might be useful to other bish crossplayers, too.... Plus, on the flip side, maybe guys can use this to figure out what they have to correct for female characters. 0^.^0''' Somehow...

Okay, I'll be quiet, now. 0.o
