Whatever you do, don't buy costumes from them. My last payment was sent back in June of 2009. It was supposed to be delivered by July 1st. It didn't arrive until mid August and what was sent was either broken or not what I ordered. I've tried getting a new order sent or a refund but they continue to give me the runaround. It's now January of 2011, enough said. :mad:

@ the OP: You should give a more detailed review if you're going to post about them at all... Timelines, what you were commissioning, etc.

I ordered the items in December 2008. I paid in installments til June 2009 and it was supposed to be delivered in time for Anime Expo. These were the items I ordered:

I ordered a Miku Hatsune wig from Carrotanime.com when they switched over to Dandylioncreations over Memorial Day. They said it would come in very soon, and hmm....I still havent recived it >.<" DO NOT order from them under any circumstances!

Are you saying that this company is Carrot Anime under another name?

They were two separate entities, but Carrot Anime recently merged with Dandylion Creative.

I had commissioned a prop from Carrot Anime before the merger, but now all my e-mail correspondence is being handled by Dandylion. However, they're still using Carrot Anime's Paypal.

Communication has been arduously slow. This thread has me quite nervous.

You're very welcome.

I'm sorry you never received your item, though. That's really terrible. I have yet to ever be scammed by a seller or commissioner, but I'm beginning to fear that I won't be so lucky this time. I'm hoping that they're simply having difficulty managing the merger, because the last time I bought something from Carrot Anime, it was perfect.

I, too, am worried as I'm caught up in the merging as well. It's been almost a week and usually the one who handles the replies (Esther) is able to get in contact with me within two~three days. I hope this is just due to the merger as well as I'm getting really worried now @__@;

Ahhh, I see. I've heard mostly bad things about Carrot Anime, so that's sort of a suspect/worrying prospect for the OP and others having trouble with them right now. :/

My only experience with Carrot Anime was quite pleasant, honestly. Communication was very slow, but they made every piece exactly as specified and everything fit me perfectly when it arrived. They made the pant legs wide enough to fit over the boots I was wearing and it fit my waist exactly. That's why I went to them again before the merger. They were very nice and helpful, and the price was a steal for what they gave me.

But at this point, I haven't heard from anyone from Dandylion since December. I've e-mailed them twice in an attempt to check on them and my order. I really hope it's just a technical issue and not anything untoward.

edit: I just received an e-mail from Esther. Evidently, she's leaving Carrot Anime, which was the cause for the delay. She says she and a few others are going to open their work shop because she openly disagrees with some of the policies the new company (Dandylion, I assume) has put into place.

Yeah, I just got a reply from Esther as well. Apparently she'll continue all her customers until their orders are done and then she's leaving with some of the designers to create a new workshop (as lotus_machine said above).

they gave me a lot of trouble with the decision and i had to leave my post for a couple of days to hold my ground till they agreed with the leave.

I just returned this evening and my chair are still cold from the absence.

and letting me know what's going on.
To be safe, while I still have the permission to do so, I would like to refund the deposit you place
if you can let me know the PayPal you used for this order.
That way, if this commission finish correctly and ship out asap, then it would be up to them to contact you
for the payment
but if not, and they decide to be jerks, I made sure your money is in your pocket.

Well, if it's just the email address that you use for Paypal invoices, that's probably safe to give. Just be sure not to give any account passwords or anything like that.

Yeah, I received the same reply. She already refunded my money, but all contact as ceased since then so I don't even know what's going on anymore -facepalm- (This refund being almost a month ago). She said she'd keep contact with me with any changes, but zero contact since ;X

Neither have I. I haven't heard a single thing in a month and a half, since I received Esther's announcement.

I wouldn't bet on it. I'll probably just have to chock it all up to a learning experience. Lucky for me I've found another seamstress who does fantastic work and actually sends progress picks as well as photos of the finished costume before she mails it out just to be sure you're happy with it.

I'm curious to know if anyone has managed to contact them at all. I haven't heard a single word from them since January. I've tried different e-mail addresses, sent e-mails to both Carrot Anime support as well as Dandylion Creative support, and I can't seem to get through at all.

I've already come to accept that I've lost my money. At this point, I'm just curious what they're doing as a company period. Are they just going to stop taking commissions and disappear (or have they already done that)? What even happened to make it all collapse like that?

Okay, so this year I didn't want to go through the trouble of making my second costume for Anime Expo, so I thought I'd order it from Carrotanime since it was kind of just to fill in the space of Ciel for my friend's Kuroshitsuji group. I've heard they're kind of slow, but are very responsive. Well it's been about two months since I've ordered and I'm getting a little nervous with July slowly creeping up. So I've been emailing them at LEAST once a week, asking about my costume but I haven't had a SINGLE reply!

I'm only 16, so I'd really rather avoid taking any kind of legal action right now. (But of course I will if I must) Does anyone know if there's something up with them? Did they get sued out then yin yang, and aren't functioning any more? Their site is still up, so I doubt it...but I'd really like some insight about them if anyone has any.

It would be greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately, I ordered from them back in February and didn't find out about this whole...mess until now. :\

I just sent Dandylion Creative a message titled "I'm about to file a lawsuit against this company", so hopefully that'll get them to actually look at it. -_-;;

Im sorry but this is getting way out of hand,

Dont you think the company should see all of these people that have complaints about their service? And even if they do, they are taking no action upon the matter!

This is ridiculous if I must say so myself :/

Why don't all of you that got ripped off and never got money or your costumes file a class action law suit? I'm not sure how many people have to actually be ripped off but it sounds like theres plenty all ready.

I'm doing a charge back through my bank right now, so hopefully I'll get my money back. They said 9 times out of 10, chargebacks work, but...knowing my luck. xDD

They really do need to have a lawsuit filed against them, but...I'm only 16 so I'm a little too skittish to do it myself. @_x;;;

A chargeback or filing a claims dispute is the way to go. Sadly, a lot of banks can do nothing after 60 days though. :(

Hi, so I've ordered from Carrot Anime before and the costume came out amazing, except that the suspenders were too short but I fixed that easily. The costume shipped to me in 1 month. But now I ordered from them again, and its been 3 MONTHS already! I have contacted them SOOOO many times now and they haven't replied back at all! Anyone please help me! :blubber:

For those of you still checking this, I have discovered new information regarding this seller and have placed a complaint through the BBB.

I am also filing a complaint through the FBI's internet fraud department. If any involved could PM their name, contact information, and how they were involved and what not I would appreciate it. Any e-mails you have with Carrot/Dandylion will help as well. The more information is gathered the better. Luckily I still have all my e-mails with Carrot/Dandylion still on file, and other pertinent data for this case. Hopefully this will help them in their investigation of this thief.

Ordered like 3 or 4 cosplays with CarrotAnime and all went well. Then I ordered 2 wigs but only received one and got a partial refund. :/ This was like back in 2010 I believe.

Man, I wish i'd know about this thread back in late 2010. i had a Max (Dark Cloud 2) costume comissioned and I appreciated Esther's quick communication. After paying the deposit I filled out a form and then waited. After several emails back and forth I got caught up in the merger with Dandylion. I hope someone did sue because they needed to make ammends for what happened.
