Okay, so I've got a toddler-size Elmo costume that I was trying to sell....but it just occurred to me that perhaps I might be able to use it as a base to alter into a pokemon costume for my little boy to wear.

Unfortunately, I can't think of any red pokemon offhand >_<. I was hoping to get some suggestions for this project. I'd be particularly interested in Fire types (to go with my Magma (http://www.cosplay.com/costume/296068/) costume), but am really open to any ideas!

Here's the costume:

Magby is something that comes to my mind... I think from the picture it looks like it might be doable...

Pretty cute! Thanks for the suggestion. I'll put that into my "possibilities" folder. The only things holding me back from acting on the Magby suggestion are that the Elmo costume I'd be butchering is furry and really red, while Magby looks like it has smooth, kinda pinkish-red skin.

Vulpix is kinda red and furry. -> http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Vulpix_(Pok%C3%A9mon)

That's all I can think of right now.

EDIT: Oh yeah, there's Flareon. -> http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Flareon_(Pok%C3%A9mon)

The only other pokemon I can think of is Delibird...I dunno the name of that new red monkey from B/W that also has a blue and green counterpart.

*facepalm* How could I forget Vulpix??? @_@

Thanks so much for the suggestions! I did more looking around, and found Darumaka (http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/4/4c/554Darumaka.png) (which may be the "red monkey" you mentioned Rowe). It's pretty cute, and I think I might attempt to make the Elmo costume into a Darumaka ^_^.

I think they were referring to Pansear (http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lhzcvhUEAK1qc0pwc.png) :)

The first red pokemon that came to mind was a shiny Sandslash. For a full red pokemon, Slugma? Don't forget the shiny version of each pokemon, a lot of them have alternate colours!

I think Darumaka would be cute the more I look at it...
