Okay so I`m wanting to cosplay as Link from Twilight Princess, and I`m finding it impossible to find boots that would be adequate for the costume. Every link i find for boots leads me to a site for women`s boots and if there is a mens section, it contains three pairs that have nothing to do with anything...
Anyone know a good place to find a really nice pair of boots?
I live in Canada so shipping from overseas may be an issue but nothing too huge, (all depends on how much shipping costs)
If no sites are available, anyone know any good tutorials on boot making? (I.E. building a pair from scratch)
Thanks in advance for any help!!

Pleasers USA are on of the few brands that caters to mens costume style boots for sale in North America.
If you find a style you like google the item number to find a seller.
Lotahk is a china seller I got to for custom made and fit to order boots as well.
Shipping is the same to Canada and the US with this seller. You can also send images to Lotahk to get a custom boot made.

I've made leather boots from scratch. They were both for guys, and it was the first time I'd ever done leatherworking in a "someone's going to wear this" kind of way (I've been learning tooling for awhile, but only for decorative things).
http://www.cosplay.com/photo/2633848/ That's the first pair I made, they're cowhide with deerskin stripes (the bright yellow), the toes come to a bit of a point and they lace up the back.
http://congirltap.deviantart.com/art/Sokka-183372017?q=boost%3Apopular%20sokka%20otakon&qo=1 (that is my brother, in a costume that I made, and I have not a single picture of it) And this is the second pair of boots that I made. They're a more traditional sort, with laces up the front and then hand-dyed and shaped shin guards tied on over them (I made those, too).
I don't know if this is the sort of boot you're looking for, but if it is send me a PM and I'll explain how I made them. Also, while both of these have make-shift leather soles, I've since figured out a way to attach a real sole to them.

When I make boots, I find a base boot with a comparable toe shape, heel, and color. I then purchase matching vinyl or leather and glue/sew this onto the base in order to make my own custom boot. It works fairly well, and though it can give a lot of headaches trying to figure out the pattern (especially when the boot will be as high as Link's), it typically is a lot cheaper than trying to find and purchase accurate boots that don't need any modifications.
The Captain 100 boots that the cosplay.com store sells look like they'd work well in brown.

You can PM this person http://www.cosplay.com/member/258523. I'm sorry I don't have the website, but he ordered boots online that look just like Link's.
