View Full Version : Karakuri Burst Len Help!

Yes, as the title states, I need help on Len's outfit in Karakuri Burst. My friend and I really want to make and wear these outfits, but the biggest problem is on how to make them. So what I'm really stuck is on how to make the coat and hat that Len wears for this outfit. Can anyone tell me or point me to any good patterns for the coat and hat? Or possibly point me to a tutorial I've missed in my frantic search? I've never tried making my own pattern, so that option's out for me. Please, I really could use your help.

You could always alter an existing pattern, such as a tailored or military style jacket that is shorter but is essentially the same. You basically use the pattern as a base and elaborate on top of it, adding length or removing a particular collar for a simple change.

The designs for the uniforms reminds me strongly of DOLLS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolls_(manga)) by Naked Ape. There are probably some tutorials available for making the coats for DOLLS, and if nothing else, there are DOLLS cosplayers that you could probably track down. ^^; I'm sorry this wasn't very helpful.

I'm currently looking at these patterns right now... They seem to be smililar to the coat in certain places...
I just can't figure out which one would be the easiest and the best to alter into the shape that I need.

+ Yes, I agree it reminds me of DOLLS, but every time I try to search in detail about dolls, nothing except people's cosplay's come up ^^; or sites that sell costumes :S

That Captain Hook costume looks like it has the most promise. You'd just have to basically alter the bottom half so that you get the three different sections, the one in front you could get by continuing down that front breast...

Good luck! ^^; I'm looking forward to what you're going to create. :D
