From the Trailer that just debuted yesterday, I was wondering if anyone will have an interest in partaking in cosplaying the costumes worn in the film?

The costumes look...um...not good...

I think these look more faithful to the original comics, and at least more durable than the impossible-to-move-in-without-ripping black leather jumpsuits used in the other films.

As much as i love the X-Men those yellow outfits are really visually boring. I agree that they're really faithful to the original X-men but they just look kinda....lame.

I think they could be potentially cool, anyone have any idea what kind of fabric materials could closely resemble these from the pics so far?

A yellow fleece vest could probably be used for the chest piece, except most of their collars look blue like the other material. hopefully better images might be released in the next months to come, the bottom halves are anyone's best guess at this point.

Horror costume devil tails usually work good for a quick fix, there's rubber ones that go for a bit more bank.

I'm thinking of cosplaying Moira or Angel for the movie premiere.

That'd be awesome, Narnian! Yeah, I'd love to have a costume done before the film is out.

How about you Kick, any plans?

Definitely would like to make a Magneto suit and helmet to go with it. Problem is finding the right material. Some figures (Minimites) were released that paint a weeeee better picture of the bottoms, but its still up for anyones best guess, really.

Also I thought i'd note, the straps on the x-men uniforms appear to be the same style straps that the Comedian had in Watchman, which are like body/parachute straps:

Need a quick suggestion on an Azazel costume for the First Class midnight showing here. Is a three piece suit or a turtle neck as seen here more appropriate? Obviously the rest of the cosplay is body paint with a little bit of facial sculpting and a fake tail. Gracias!

IO9 just posted a BUNCH of new shots from X-Men First Class (http://io9.com/5802571/42-images-from-x+men-first-class-show-off-azazel-angel-and-emma-frost/gallery/). I can see a lot of good cosplay ideas from this. Also, this version of Beast looks remarkably like the X-Men Legacy version.

And trying not to nerd rage against the commenter who falsely thinks that Angel Salvadore is a version of Pixie. Aside form the wings, they are NOTHING alike.

To be honest, a few years ago, Banshee (AoA) was on my cosplay list. If I had done it, he would defiantly have been what I was wearing to the release.

I'm using cloth with a flexible wire surrounded by cotton stuffing for my Azazel tail. I'll have it finished by 8:00 PM tonight (I know, I know. Cuttin' it close). I also lucked out and bought the very last containers of body paint in a dark red hue. Pictures will follow of course. I'll also have a Nightcrawler and a Mystique with me to cosplay with!

This is a really awesome reference. I love the uniforms and actually wanted to alter the outfit Xorn uses (being done by a commissioner) so it looks similar to the First Class outfits. Maybe later down the road. Plus, there isn't one particular character I'd like to be from the movie. I figure movie uniform in addition to Xorn's helmet and I can maybe get away with it.

I'm SO cosplaying this. Like now. But I'm a girl, and I really don't want to cosplay Raven. What should I do? I'm actually quite tall, and look nothing like Angel... so where does that leave me? I doubt I could pull off a boy, but I may have to... unless I do a First Class version of Jean Gray, but that wouldn't be accurate. That'd be the easiest too, because IRL I'm a Jean Gray clone. xD

Soooo It looks like i'm going to cosplay Angel for a dragon*con group. Trying decide between two different outfits. I really want to try to make her battle outfit, but we're leaning towards having me make one of her dresses instead.

Are you going to do the wings up or down?

/hope that made sense...

it depends on time. I would LOVE to try to make her wings up, but unless i can figure out how to make them stay on a backless outfit without being obvious, i'll do down. we'll see. ^^

I would recommend maybe doing a dyed, altered version of pixie's wings since they're readily available at most costume shops. And then maybe have them attached to a corset back so that it would keep in line with the Go Go Dancer quality of the character?

However, I think the wings painted on like tattoos would be incredibly cool to cosplay, so you're good either way!

Well, i got my angel wig!

also, i'm very pale, and it shows, but I really can't change that. :/ I did use a little bronzer to make my skin not too pale so i wouldn't took like a goth with a dark wig.

I'm making Emma's White Queen costume! Just finished the skirt, and about to move on to the bra. I'm highly intimidated. o.o

I'm doing the First Class version of Mystique for a con in November. Working on prosthetic scales and stuff. It's my most intricate costume yet. I'm pretty excited!

I did a crossplay of Wolverine a few years back so this is going to be my second X-Men character.

Also, on an unrelated note, I recognize you Moonflower! You're the one that always comes up when I google Amy Pond Cosplaying (because I'm doing her for the con too!).

Does anyone have any tips for making Banshee's First Class costume? Specifically, how would the wings attach to the legs of costume. In the scenes where he's practicing flying, there are straps around his legs. However, in the blue and yellow uniform, there are shoulder straps and arm straps but no leg straps. Should I assume that the wings are just attached directly to the legs?

leeleeleelee

I would model them similar to a flying squirrel flight suit minus the connections in between the legs.

Thank you! That's a great idea. Do you know if one could buy a sewing pattern for flying squirrel flight suits?

I just watched it... So good! And I'm doing a cross play of Xavier in his yellow-blue suit. And I'll be in a wheelchair for part of the con, since I'm lazy, and don't wanna walk. Plus I handle a chair like a badass.

I actually want to do Xavier from FC myself; I've been looking to commission a costume though, because I'm terrible at sewing and this doesn't seem like a good place to start! LOL.
