BAAF's announced attendance was (I think) 13000+. That's over 6x as big as Ohayocon 2003. Not sure if those number are accurate, but it sure seemed crowded.

Remember that Ohayocon is in a new hotel this year, so who knows how that'll effect attendance.

I'm sorry, you're absolutely right, it's Saturday and Sunday. Yes, I went to JFAX this year and it was awesome. Were you there?

O.O *point* Leonhart-san! I recognized you from Metrocon! Had I known you were a musician, I would have practiced beforehand that rendition of Eyes on Me at the karaoke mic... x.x I was unworthy of Faye Wong-sama... *hides in shame*

Oh, and you play well! And Yuna-san did an amazing job at the AFO cosplay... Wow, my musical ability is unworthy! *bows before the greatness*

Yeah, I was. Been going for three years ^^ We were the Chobits group with two Chiis and a Hideki (with panties on his head >>) this year. I've just never heard JAFAX mentioned here before, so I had to comment.

Have you ever heard of Con Ja Nai? It's absolutely microscopic, but in Michigan (Ann Arbor). This weekend, actually.

I wanna go to Ohayocon........lol but...it's too close to Katsucon and its too far away ;__;. Oh well. I know you Leonhart! You were playing the piano at BAAF! You played a song from FF9 and everyone was like "Wrong Final Fantasy!!" Lol XD. You are very talented and you are a cute Squall ^_^!

I remember you too! You sing beautifully, Wong-sama would be proud! :-) Are you planning on going to Ohayocon too? I was talking to the conchair about performing there, but it isn't going to work out this year. What other cons are you planning on going to? I've been thinking of contacting megacon about a performance, but I haven't been there before. What do you think?

Hey, can't a squall play Melodies of Life without getting teased? :-) BAAF was awesome, I'll definitely be back there next year. So you're a mega-inuyasha fan! I've actually been working on a piano arrangement of Every Heart today, I think you'd like it. :-) I'm planning to perform it at Anime USA, which is the 21-23 of this month in Vienna, VA. I think the con is going to record it, so I'll put the video up on www.otakuduet.com for you :-)

^^;; Aheheh....arigatou..

I am most definitely heading to Ohayocon! ^_^ It was my first con ever and I'm a veteran. XD Aw..too bad you can't perform! But hey, what about open mic night?! Get yourself a keyboard and bingo! =D I'm already practicing a few things (read: so many things that I'll never have time to sing them all) for karaoke. Sheesh, karaoke needs to be all 3 days. XD

Hm..I'm also heading to Colossalcon just for the Saturday, and then Tekkoshocon. Other than that I don't know for sure, but because I only go to Florida for the summer, I can safely say that Metrocon and AFO will probably be on my list.

Hey Pata, I did not know there was a convention in Ann Arbor. I used to live so close to it! I just found out about JAFAX by chance (I brought Squall there while he was visiting me). They need to advertise the one in Ann Arbor more, and I bet more people would show up. I sure would if I still lived in that area.

Amera-chan, did you participate in the cosplay at AFO too? Or the costume contest? I might remember who you were because I was paying attention to the costumes there. I am the Yuna you mentioned earlier in this forum, if you did not know.

*wave* Hello Yuna-san!

Alas, I did not partake in the contests, but I'm fairly sure I have your pic in my AFO collection. I tracked down almost every cosplayer I could. XD

I cosplayed Luffy from One Piece with the "Will fight pirates/ninjas for meat" sign, and during and after the cosplay I was a yellow-clad Shuichi from Gravitation. I was only a Mononoke kodama for a little while. ^^;

They really don't advertise at all x_X; It's more of a screening by the anime club at the college (with a cosplay thrown in) than a real con. That's too bad you left the area; they need all the attendance they can get xD.

Ohayocon is not too big and not too small. It's one of those cons that just feel just right to me. Great cosplayers and I like the staff and the events. Yeah a little more than 2,000 attended last year.
I reconmend

how many people attend this con from out of state?

Leonhart

I'm not sure of the exact number, but I have talked to a lot of people in the northeast who make the trip.

Jaxxy: This will be the 3rd year I'll be attending Ohayocon, so since I'm coming from California, I guess that makes me from out of state.. ;) I think Lionel and I are the only ones who travel to Ohayocon from CA.. :skidude2: Pretty far, ne?

The new hotel looks HUUUGE! Hopefully it won't be too hard to find people, which also won't make it too hard to get pics of cosplayers. And since it's a new location, I'll have to scout out the place quickly when I get there Friday to find possible photoshoot (and a possible cosplay.com gathering) places. Since 2004 will be a big year of photo-taking for me, I will strive to do my best! :D

Hah, nothing wrong with Squall playing Melodies of Life... I was Inuyasha at Otakon and that didn't stop me from singing that song (and several others, for that matter). ^^ And Every Heart is a wonderful song. I sang that as a duet with my friend dressed as Kagome. A lot of people thought the cosplay plus karaoke was 'awww, cute'. Hopefully we'll sing that again at Ohayocon. But I'm going to definitely be there for open mic no matter what I sing.

Hm..I'm also heading to Colossalcon just for the Saturday, and then Tekkoshocon. Other than that I don't know for sure, but because I only go to Florida for the summer, I can safely say that Metrocon and AFO will probably be on my list.

Awesome! You're the first person that I've seen mention attending Cleveland Colossalcon. I'll be there as well, since it's closer to home for me than Ohayocon. I have no business not going since it's just a 45 minute drive for me. xD

But I've never been there before. I have a feeling it's going to be rather small, but I'm sure it'll still be a lot of fun. Yay for Ohio conventions. ^^

You mean the convention center? Yes, it is. I've been there several times before since I live in Columbus. Not to mention it's actually the 5th largest convention center in the country. 0_0
