So, already assuming you like to wear alt fashion as your everyday fashion when not cosplaying- what is your favorite style?? (goth/punk/lolita/hipster/fruits)
When wearing that style, what is your favorite outfit to wear?
I ask cause I am always curious as to how people interpret their fashion style and what they like to match together.
If there's a pic of you in your fav outfit, that would be awesome too!

I'm actually a really big fan of classic style. I basically live in JCrew now days :P
Oddly enough I have very few pics of my in everyday clothes...so no refs to post :/

somewhere between goth, punk and visual kei. i don't have enough of elements from one style to classify it as one or the other.
orrrrr if i'm too lazy or don't have the time to actually bother dressing up (it's not just throwing the clothes on, i need to do my hair as well as lenses and makeup) i just put on a pair of oversized jeans and a tshirt/tank top.

i am camera shy outside cosplay so i have close to zero photos \o/ or at least anything that shows more than just shoulders upwards.

30's style/dieselpunk attire. Military jackets and clothes made to suit civilian life.

I enjoy tweeds and vests, and the combo is just perfect in my opinion.

Green turtleneck, with a black military vest. Black fingerless gloves. Black pants and combat boots, with a green tweed to top it off. Maybe a chain across the vest if I feel the need, with a chain for my wallet and keys respectively.

though a button has come off the best recently, so until I fix wit, I have an old Tripp Hot Topic vest I am using, which works rather well I find.

Loose, simple, drapey things in earth tones and natural fibers. I have no idea what that counts as. Probably Smug Granola.

Girly - skirts, cute tops, dresses, socks or tights (when it's cold both). I rarely wear jeans from March to December. I also wear lolita on occasion

Whatever I pick off the the floor that passes the "sniff-test".

...srsly.

Fashion takes away from time and money for more important things... like video games.

I suppose that makes my alternative fashion label: "otaku".

Emily Temple Cute dominates my closet, I love their style so hard. It's mostly t-shirts though, with a few simple skirts/dresses/shorts, because I'm usually a half-assed dresser. Not as much of their dressy stuff. I mean, I love makeup and matching clothes, but normally I'd rather sleep in than spend time putting it on etc... and the clothes still look cute without having to be perfectly made up all the time. I like being able to wear my Chucks or Onitsukas when I want to.

Well, I have a ton of lolita dresses too but I recently fell out of love with it, so they're in limbo. I've got 8 years' worth to get rid of. @_@ The clothes are pretty, but now they just feel too impractical.

Basic with a bit of flair.

Stores I frequent include: the GAP, Uniqlo (http://www.uniqlo.com/jp/), various thrift/used clothing stores, Shimamura (http://www.shimamura.gr.jp/) (think cheap Japanese Target), and Luccica (http://www.suzutan.co.jp/ladies/luccica.html). I also like Levis for jeans and Victoria Secret.

Pretty much, I like things that are classic but still unique. I like to do preppy with just a touch of punk or elegant-playful, and so on. I usually shop with an eye on things that will go with other bits and bobbles already in my wardrobe.

Things I like: bell sleeves, basic 5-pocket jeans with traditional cuts, 110 denier stockings, camisoles, long-sleeves that fall to the knuckles on my fingers, matching undergarments, comfy but cute shoes, and no more than one necklace at a time.

I tend to avoid fire colors - red, yellow, and orange turn me off. I love blues, greens, purples, and browns. My friends occasionally tease me for having a bit of an 80's-90's thing going on but it's not intentional, and tends to happen when I'm wearing something given to me by a relative of bought in a thrift store. ^^;;

I prefer a little androgyny most of the time. Long bootcut pants, heeled oxfords, vests, glasses.

I LOVE SCARVES. I wear one at least once a week.

I wear a lot of black, grey, nude, white, and blue. I like florals occasionally, and I love tall boots.

I wear no jewelry. Ever.

My hair is red, long, and usually wavy.

That's pretty much it.

My daily style is a mix of the following - VK, Cyber goth, J Street Fashion. I tone it down when not going out to clubs and such but I still manage to look like (in my boyfriends words) "some pixies appeared out of nowehere and vomited all over you" I like bright colours, sometimes a lil too much. I love make up and it matches my outfit nearly all the time. My eyebrows have been absent from my face for about two years now so sometimes they get drawn on in candy bright colours. I love stack platform shoes/boots with my tallest pair being a mighty 7". My hair is always short (my days of extensions/dreadfalls are pretty much done now) and it changes colour a heck of a lot as I get bored with it very very easily.

I used to be heavily into psychobilly/rockabilly and 50's fashion in general and I still am so sometimes I'll wear that instead. It depends on my mood I guess.

I really love dressing up and even now at the grand old age of 26 (yikes!!) I doubt this will change anytime soon. I sometimes wish that I could be the kind of girl that doesn't wear make up and feels extremely comfortable wearing jeans simply because I hate the fact that it takes me an hour, sometimes longer (this is just to go out in the day, to a club it takes longer) to get ready. But I don't feel comfortable or confident otherwise so I guess that's just me!

Skinny stuff round the torso and thighs but leaning more to flaring out at the ends of the arms/legs. basically, a concoction of some Final Fantasy styles (3/4 length pants, High Top Buckle Boots, fingerless gloves / gauntlets, high neck sweaters, and generally a lot of accesories [armbands, bracelettes, scarves etc] to give a busy look to the clothes.) I always wear high-collar tops.

I'm usually very lazy on weekday mornings and just throw on jeans and tops (plural as in layered). My preferred style is very Gothic, a little lolita, and some... cyberpunk, I suppose? I love all those little accessories, like little top hats, lacy gloves, corsets, bell sleeves; all those expensive, difficult to find things that I treasure the odd time I find one I can afford. Sometimes I'll go all out on a Goth outfit, but usually I'll wear 'normal' clothing and throw in ribboned gloves and a skull choker. My style is very all over the place. Each day seems like a new style, but I know what I like when I see it. I have a thing for those shirts with fancy things on the back, like cut up bits or designs.

I'm pretty boring XP

Flared jeans every day [or jean shorts if too nasty outside], bright colored or black shirt with some sort of picture on it, and a sweatshirt.
I do have some fun patterned chucks and such.
I've been wanting to dress more interesting-ly but I get caught up with self-consciousness XP

I'm sort of eclectic. Usually I dress like an indie chick. I wear vintage inspired clothes (if anyone knows somewhere that sells vintage clothing in Maryland, that would be cool) and oxfords or short pumps.

On days that I have practice, I go super casual with t shirts and jeans. Lots of super hero shirts and band shirts. Also, on super lazy days, I wear boyfriend jeans. They're so nice and baggy! I also can't wear skinny jeans with out a certain amount of stretch because my leg muscles, especially my calf muscles, are huge. Fencing is srs bsns.

In terms of shoes, other than the aforementioned, I rock black and silver pumas, black chucks, or these classic chucks I've had for years that I drew and painted over.

These days, I'm just wearing black shorts, band shirts, and my pumas.

Thrash as hell

Basically the way the thrash metal musicians dressed back in the 1980s: battle jacket, jeans, bullet belts, studded belts, metal band t-shirts, white hi-top sneakers, occasionally the flipped-brim caps too.

Sometimes I do the Death Metal thing too camouflage cargo pants, or regular black cargo pants, combat boots, and as always the must have and most important part of the uniform, a metal band t-shirt.

If it's not cosplay, work, or a special occassion... I'll wear whatever I really happen to feel like wearing. Which is usually stuff that makes my mom go "wha--?"

One day I might wear a baggy t-shirt with a dragon or anime character on it with baggy jeans, slip on shoes, & let my hair hang down... the next I might wear a fitted black top, baggy ripped jeans, 2-3" heel boots, pleather/mesh gloves, & a paperboy cap. My mom's fave outfit I have is black flaired dress pants, 2-3" heeled boots, a white top, black medieval bustier, a fedora & black fingerless gloves.

I'm not sure how I'd describe that. Except maybe "varied".

I'm pretty boring. Too cheap/broke to be fashionable, plus I work with messy things all day every day. Being the resident Splice-mistress for the entire school will do that! Basically, I work with or around paint, glue, varnishes, dyes, and messy things in general because I'm in charge of the more crafty side of theatrical costuming. Leatherwork, dyeing, etcetera etcetera.

So, I wear my clothes DOWN. Everyday, it's baggy t-shirt from a convention, thrift store. or play that I worked on/ was cast in with jeans torn at the knees and a sweatshirt. Flip flops when I don't have gym, worn sneakers when I do. Hair either down, or up in a ponytail when I'm working. Though, I do love dressing up. I have five dresses and some dressier tops (meaning that they actually show that yes, indeed I do have a waist and yes, I am quite skinny) that I wear with intact jeans and black flats.

So, I guess you can call it broke, artsy, lazy high schooler?

50's pinup/Rockabilly invades my wardrobe. Dresses, oversized belts (for that small waisted look!), and heels, topped with victory roll hairstyles are a must everyday.... I'm not in school. I sure as hell am not going to destroy my favourite outfits by getting clay and plaster all over it!

But sometimes, I'll wear 60's vintage floral prints....... rarely.

baggy pants, usually black or grey. tight t-shirt or beater of whatever color is clean and matches pants. steel toe or waterproof boots, depending on weather and where i'm going that day. sunglasses, always

at least, up until this week. it's been over 80 here since monday. now i'm wearing capris and a bikini top. summer is the only time outside of special occasions where people will see me in anything remotely feminine

i have a funeral to go to saturday :( i'm wearing my denmark shirt (because it's the only "nice" shirt i have that isn't black and hasn't been altered in some way) and a straight black skirt that i've had forever. it's the first time i've worn a skirt in at least two years, and i'm pretty sure i wore that one the last time

Hollister hoodies and jeans... that I got on sale at a consignment shop. I like the simple designs and product overall, but those prices! Those other kids can go waste $40 on a hoodie, but I'm buying practically the same one for $10. I seriously hate spending money on clothes when that same moolah could be used for anime, video games, and cosplay. ...Oh, and food. Yep.

Styles as a whole, though? I'm fond of Steampunk and 1930s flapper-esque clothes. Not specifically on me, though. ...I've always had a secret urge to try out the Ganguro look, though; just for the lulz.

My sense of style in a word is eclectic. I don't like matchy matchy stuff. It can be vintage feminine pastel or midtone, like Courtney Love's messed up baby-doll http://safashint.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/babydollgrunge.pngmeets preppy boyish http://stowersbespoke.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/pink-tweed.jpg. Or I can be plain and wear a man's work-shirt and skinny jeans with sneakers. My favorite outfits in the past always have the element of fantasy in them.

My boyfriend likes to say I am indie preppy. My favorite things to wear are short skirts and shorts, loose tees and tanks. And his clothes. I also love a good pair of heels with a classy dress.

And I can also wear something circa 1920s flapper era meets a boyfriend jacket.

it all depends on my mood but looking put together is ideal.

At work, I wear tank tops with short sleeve button down shirts open over them. I have to stay relatively conservative for that. In the evening, I don't usually feel like changing into something crazy, so I wear the tank top with (always) olive drab cargo pants, more often than not a bandanna. If I'm going out somewhere, I tend to dress to the theme of whatever it is, to the point of going over-the-top. I go to wizard rock concerts in Slytherin-themed punk clothing, for example. I usually wear vintage clothing to church. Most of my vintage stuff is from the 50s and 60s.

I LOVE steampunk/neo-Victorian, and my work outfits in the winter tend toward high-collared Victorian style shirts, sometimes with brooches. Been collecting that stuff for about 10 years now.

I used to be really into gyaru fashion, but now it just inspires me. I love girly/sweet kei stuff mixed with masculine pieces. When I'm not wearing girly stuff I like rokku (rock) gyaru outfits. I really love big cocktail rings and dangly earrings as accessories. Cardigans are also a staple. My nails are usually simple with either a bold color or glitter + nail stickers. Makeup is usually "natural" gyaru minus lashes everyday.

I wear jeans...like All.The.Time. xD T shirt and jeans are pretty normal for me. I do like steampunk, lolita, etc..but I don't normally wear anything that would qualify as any of those things. I do have a couple shirts that look a little lolita..but one of them doesn't fit me that well and the other is...actually I don't know where that one is xD deeerp. Most of the time it's T shirt (mostly the geeky ones that I've stocked up on) and jeans for practicality, although I plan to expand my wardrobe a bit and make things besides costumes as well. I'm a huge fan of vintage styles from the 40s and 50s, so whenever I have to go dress shopping for something I tend to look for more things in that style.

My fashion depends on how I'm feeling that day..... if I feel emo-ish, I wear dark colors/punk fashion. If I feel cute, I dress kinda in a pink 50's type of fashion. And if I feel goofy/happy, I dress in a (mild) version of Spank! or neon/pastel Fairy Kei.

I also created my own spin-off of Fairy Kei which I dubbed "Kyandii Kei"... which is less 80s and more focused on candy/junk food. Its fun to look for things that relate to it, like cupcake sprinkle Vans shoes, Betsey Johnson candy-themed bags, and Onch Movement jewelry.

You guys all seem to have very interesting fashions you like to wear in normal life. lol I think I am probably the least interesting person on here. My style doesn't really fit into a category. Like many people, the way I dress changes depending on how lazy I feel. Usually in the morning, all I can be bothered with is some simple pants and a t-shirt of some sort (my shirts usually have blood, are related to Sweeney, Depp, or anime, and some are just kinda stylized). I wear a lot of black.. most of my wardrobe is black, and I also sometimes enjoy dressing kinda like Mrs. Lovett and I use parts of my ST cosplay in daily life. But yea, it really varies I guess. I don't have a set style of dressing. I'm kinda all over the place

If someone searched through my closet they would probably find a lot of items that could be used for various costumes. My clothing ranges from goth-ish to very normal clothing, I also have some suits (that I use for when I go to dog shows). It's all very random

One thing that I can never bring myself to do though is to wear leggings as pants (as in a t-shirt and just leggings. That just seems so odd to me, so I don't think I would ever be able to do that. lol

If someone looked in my closet...they'd see a few really nice dresses that I only wear at dressy parties or on dates. And then they'd get attacked by about twenty bajillion band t shirts.

Band shirts and jeans. All day err' day.

I guess I consider myself Japanese punk? I've been lazy this semester in college with early classes so its usually t-shirt, jeans and a sweater but after doing my research paper on Japan's street fashion, I started loving my clothes again ^^

My favorite outfit right now is this (https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/374727_10151040086465694_573770693_22017380_101480 5151_n.jpg) but it'll probably change once I get more clothes and finally get my hands on some SEXPOT ReVeNGe. Sorry about the picture to those in the UK...

I'm a pretty fashionable guy I just wear whatever I want. Slim jeans, converse shoes, army boots, obscure band shirts or print tees from Camden Market London.

I've a pretty modern sense of style but I'm more than happy to wear retro and vintage clothes as well, I got an amazing sheepskin winter jacket for only 10 once! I get quite a lot of my clothes from army surplus stores too, jackets, boots, hats and the like.

I also love wearing suits, I've got about 3-4 suits from H&M and vintage stores, it's nice to look nice.

What I wear each day really depends on how I feel. Sometime I'll be boring and it'll just be jeans and t-shirt and then a leather or plaid jacket. Sometimes I feel like dressing like John Lenon in the 50s and I'll stick on a harrington jacket and some brouges. Another day I want to be really millitary/grungy. Or I'll stick on a suit and straw hat and stand around in the sunshine smoking pretending I'm in Milan.

I guess I'm pretty vain for a guy, like I don't really know anyone who puts as much effort into their looks as me. Well... any men at least.

You could say I'm a hipster and I wouldn't disagree. But I don't dress to impress others, I don't wear things to be ironic, I'm not pre occupied with what people think of me. I wear what I think looks cool to me, I have a beard, thick glasses, shaved mohawk, feathers in my ears and a v neck transformers tshirt. Problem?

That just seems so odd to me, so I don't think I would ever be able to do that. lol

Well your pretty much like me then, I got alot 'a black clothing particularly and some anime tshirts or video game t shirts. I also wear my cyber locks from time to time wit my hair either curly or straight(can't really do that wit braids though).

I also use some 'a my cosplay stuff in wit my regular clothing from time to time as well, like wearing one 'a my duel academy jackets or my jounouchi t shirt is technically a normal shirt as well.

I guess this is pretty much an example of how I dress

old picture is old though -.- I need to take more recent pics

here's an example of me wearing my osiris red jacket along wit my regular clothes and cyber locks.

http://i44.tinypic.com/5yyit.jpg

Thats just a portrait of sorts though -.-

I like to wear flu masks and chains too, like in this picture.

Despite throwing some cosplay stuff into what I wear I haven't brought myself to actually wear a dress or skirt out. I don't even own a skirt or dress outside of cosplay, but since they're all clothes to me I probably should wear them some time xD

then there's other times when my style can be more plain then others.

I just don't put forth the effort of putting on make up everyday /heh

To be honest, I have no idea.

I like pleated miniskirts, but I always wear tights or leggings underneath. My favourite items of clothing that aren't hoodies or hats are my blouse and pinafore dress, which is red~!

After seeing Igiko, I started wearing my hair in the same style and I have a jumper-vest-browny-thingy that I like.

And hoodies.

HOODIES.

I have two, but they are both awesome~! One's bright pink with bight green sleeves and a purple hood lining, and the other is plain grey... With about 25 badges on.

I also have two cute hats~ One is a cap white with blue dye splattered all over it, and the otheris basically a knitted panda (With nose~) with pompom string things to rival my bunches.

Mine is a mix of several european and asian subculture styles. I dress really different everyday but I almost always wear my Nana Pole Climber boots everday and I own tons of corsets and dresses.

Gyaru/visual kei here, though I usually don't go "full on visual kei" because well, I'm a sixteen year old highschooler, and that's frowned upon. But I do go full gyaru; circle lenses, false lashes, and curls every day. (However, I do miss my VK hair very much!)

Adding on the the eclectically fashionable people! I'm full on old school visual kei whenever I have the chance, but since that isn't very often and tends to scare a lot of people off, I'll do my own takes on oshare kei, decora, and fairy kei too (oftentimes a mix of everything). The pinks and pastels really help keep people from being scared ^^; I definitely have some gyaru influences when I dress up for the latter, but who doesn't nowadays?

you would definitly classify me as a punk if you saw me
i take great pride in making myself appear this way as well.
to say diy is to underexaggerate things. i make my hoodies
jeans shirts and shoes modified and prepared specially for each
outfit. right now my favorite outfit is actually more of the rockabilly look
i used to sport a couple years ago. its quite simple
straight leg blue jeans, a pair of dingy blue chucks, a white tee and a leather jacket,
and when i feel like it my leather jacket.
but mostly im studs and chains and patches. definitly punk

I would say mostly girly girl. I love tights, leggings, skinny jeans, ALL KINDS OF SHORTS, skirts, FLORAL AND PLAID OH MY GOODNESS. I have three dresses right now, but I consider my wardrobe a bit bare at the moment lol. I would also say.. a bit classy I guess. I'm not sure what else to call it but I love blazers. And cardigans lol. I also like vintage, but the "just made yesterday" vintage and not legit made 30 years ago. (Well, the stuff I do like is mega old, like from 1910 haha)

My favorite store is Forever 21 but I go to basically every other store anyway. Never know what you will find (:

Most days I wear working clothes- brass-plated boots, jeans, a fitted tank top, and a beat up sweatshirt. My clothes often get covered in things like paint and machine oil and they have to be somewhat resistant to catching fire. My hair is rapunzel-esque, so I put it in a bun to keep it safe and out of the way.

When I bother dressing nice, my clothes are mostly classic with touches of steampunk, fantasy, and pirate. I wear leather boots with fitted coats or blazers. I wear nice jeans or lacy skirts. I like earcuffs and steampunk earrings. If it's raining, I throw on my pirate hat. I sometimes carry around a tankard or have beads and feathers stuck in my hair.

Cool t-shirt/tank top and jeans/shorts pretty much sums it up for me.

*poke* Revive dead thread?

I wear a strange combination of earthy-tone bohemian thrift-store finds and self-made stuff. I recently started getting mori girl fashion and I've been sketchy a ton of stuff I hope to make soon, maybe even sell on my Etsy page. I make my own jewelry and accessories too to match my outfits. Beats crappy Ardene's buys that fall apart after a week.

I prefer to be a little bit dressy all the time (not super dressed up, but nicer pants than jeans and a buttoned up shirt). The way I generally dress would probably best be described as modern dressy/classy influenced by Steampunk/Goth/militaristic styles (I wear military jackets a lot, as well as non-military blazers). I recently got a faux leather vest and a pocket watch, which I plan to use together (as well as separately sometimes). On some days I won't dress up quite as much and will wear a nerdy t-shirt under a jacket or unbuttoned dress shirt. I also have a thing for long coats. The main ones I wear most frequently are a black overcoat, a brown duster coat, and a vintage WWII-era RCAF greatcoat, and I'm going to make a Vash the Stampede duster this summer for everyday wear. For shoes, I generally wear somewhat dressy shoes or else leather boots (although sometimes red Converse, inspired by the Tenth Doctor). I'm not a fan of hats, so I hardly wear those, but I usually wear scarves when it's cold enough (I have an Aperture Laboratories scarf and a Ravenclaw scarf). I usually wear a necklace with a cross shaped like Wolfwood's gun from Trigun, and sometimes a Mockingjay pin or a Star Trek "Command" rank pin. Obviously, I'm quite fashion conscious for a guy...

...most of the time. Above is how I dress during the school year or any other time when I'm going to be around people my age. During the summer, when I hardly ever see anyone I know other than my parents, I don't really give a crap how I look, and usually just wear shorts and t-shirts.

Very few pictures exist of me in my daily clothes. Here's the only decent one.

Cameron1138, I love the outfit! Very handsome!

I personally find long pants very uncomfortable so I wear short ones with socks, tights or stockings. In winter I just wear many layers to keep warm. As for shirts I love collared button-ups. For shoes... First of all, they have to have heels, and preferably platforms. Chunky platform shoes or boots are my favorites. (I love, love boots.) Oh, and I also like headdresses and hats. As for colors, I usually wear black and white, occasionally with a bit of red and pink. X)

I'm currently trying to redo my wardrobe as I've changed styles. XP Cutting my hair short soon, too.

I'll revive this thread.

I dress in mainly cute Japanese fashion like fairy-kei or gyaru. People tend to stare at me a lot for my clothes, but oh well.

I look pretty decent in anything cute, though I prefer androgynous visual kei / boystyle any time I possibly can without repeating outfits too often. Kinda depends on how I do my makeup and hair that day.

I'm trying to change the way I dress. I used to be a creature of baggy jeans and t shirts, but when it came to my attention that I look like a 12 year old it had to stop. I've been experimenting for the past couple months-- Button fronts, weird vests, punkish stuff that looks beat to death, sweatervests, and so on. I'm too cheap to buy new shoes, so everything is either red/black checkers, Harley boots, or the dress shoes I use for half my cosplays. I look ridiculous and it's great.

Ideally, I want to be a different decade of the 20th century each day.
I mainly wear 40's-60's clothes since those are the easiest to find.
