We have a lot of nice events here.
shows a lot of the events, but the "biggest" Cons (in summer) would be :
-AnimagiC from July 29th-31st (Bonn)
-Gamescom August 17th-21st (Köln /cologne)
-Connichi September 16th-18th (Kassel)

Though the gamescom is more GAME related than cosplay related usually.
Personall I would prefer Connichi, since it's the biggest fanmade convention. It has a nice surrounding and a nice, huge schedule. Personally I like Connichi most. But like I said, that's just my personal opinion :)

It really depends where and when you visit germany :)

Hi Zeina,

I've never been to Gamescom before, but just from looking around the site I think I can answer your questions.

1. According to the replier when I myself asked whether or not it was acceptable to wear costumes to and from the events in Germany; Yes. It is OK to wear your costume to the venue. As long as you feel up to the weird stares, go for it. However, if you are wearing something very bulky or revealing and you're planning on using public transportation... just for safety, bring it with you and change at the venue. ;)

2. Looking at pictures of the previous Gamescoms, it seems many people dress as anime characters. From my experience it's fine with everyone who doesn't have a witchy attitude to cosplay as anything or anyone at all sorts of different conventions. IE: Comic Character at Anime Convention, VG Character at Film Convention, and so on.

3. Are you asking who on the site is going? Or what 'Special Guests' will be there? I'm just going to guess it was the former~ I'm trying to go! :D I'm sure it will be a lot of fun.

About Gamescom:
I agree with miamiasma and I have already been to two Gamescom's in Cologne.

Quite some ppl go in animecosplays, many in game cosplays though since it is a gameconvention afterall. But sometimes it overlaps anyway for there are quite some animebased games (Naruto, Bleach, DBZ ...)

But I have to add that due to the huge number of ppl going to gamescom the cosplayers nearly vanish in the mass especially on saturday. So of course I would rather avoid something very bulky for many reasons. Especially if you love the cosplay and want to wear it again ;).
The other point is the attitude of the usual gamer him/herself. They can react rather very different to cosplayers and revealing cosplays seem to cry for an attention you rather want to avoiasd. Even interviewers are strange there sometimes as we experierenced last year -.-.

Besides I'd rather only comment to attend Gamescom if you are actually interested in the games too and want to try them. It is much fun in and without cosplay. I tried both.^^ But if you only want to attend a con and have fun with other cosplayers I'd rather recomment the pure anime conventions like Animagic or Connichi.
Besides Gamescom as a fair is rather large too ;). That's the other reason cosplayers get scattered there. But usually you find the most in the outside areas or in chill out zone^^.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask.
I have the luxury of living rather close to Gamescom and Animagic. Besides another con in early summer is Dokomi (11.-12.6.). It takes place in Düsseldorf, not thaat big yet but it is starting to grow rather quickly. 3rd Dokomi this year and overr 2000 ppl attending if they really come.^^ It is taking place at a school and very recommendable if you cosplay from a schoolanime or any school uniform since you are able to rent rooms for shoots and stuff :). Plus the entrance fee is rather cheap too^^.

I've been to the con the last two years and I'm going to be there this year, too!
Just a heads up if you haven't heard and are planning on doing a cosplay for the Gamescom: They do have special weapon rules, so they may take away stuff at the entrance if you don't plan ahead =)
But most stuff should not be a problem, the rules are also listed on the animexx event page, but in german.

Ello xD AnimagiC prices depend on what package you get, here is their website http://www.animania.de/animagic-ticket-bestellung.html put in the date you want to do like (29'th 30th or so) and itll show you the prices xD it all depends on what you get, a ticket for sunday only costs 28 euros and one for friday and saturday are 39 euros. Im just spending the summer in germany (from the U.S) so im only going to animagic so at this moment i have no idea what gamescon cost. Tried to find the website and only got results for some business website named gamescom xD hope someone else responds on that qeastion.
