On the weekend, I had the great fortune to watch the current top contestant, "The Beast of Yucca Flats". A low-budget 1961 black and white attempt at sci-fi/horror and the horrors of nuclear experiments...it's so cheap, they couldn't even do proper sound dubbing for the voices, so except for some weird random "narration" voices that speak completely at random and don't have much to do with the movie context, it's basically a silent movie. With people's mouths moving and no captions for it.
...if you feel the need to go research it, watch the Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode where they do a running commentary, because then it switches from just plain awful, to awful AND funny for being so awful. ((It's available on netflix, AFAIK.))

So, absolute worst movies you've ever seen? Forgotten B and C-movies? Cult films? Hollywood films that just utterly disappointed on every frame? Rant here. XD

Of course, Epic Movie was horrible. All of those spoof movies are.

I didn't watch it but when Hot Tub Time Machine was in theaters everytime I saw an ad for it I was thinking "Who thought this was a good idea?"

When I went to see the Cinematic Titanic they used this 70's horror movie 'Rattlesnakes' or something. It was a mess.

I think the worst movie I've seen is a tie between movie rendition of the game Dead or Alive or this supposedly Christian movie about Noah making the Ark to escape Sodom and Gammorrah which would lead him to discover the Ten Commandments after the 40 day journey across the sea with his family. I stopped the movie after Noah told his wife, "You know, someone should make a book about this"

Oh geez...

I was going to say The Room, until I saw TROLL 2. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_2)

From Wikipedia:

"The plot concerns a family pursued by vegetarian monsters who seek to transform them into plants so that they can eat them. The English-language script was written by Fragasso and his wife Rosella Drudi, neither of whom actually spoke any English at the time. Despite filming the movie in Utah, and casting the movie entirely with American actors (many of whom had no prior acting experience and had responded to the casting call hoping to be extras), Fragasso also employed an exclusively Italian crew, who likewise spoke no English. The resultant communication breakdown, coupled with the cast's lack of experience and Fragasso's insistence that his script be read verbatim, has led to the movie being considered one of the worst movies ever made."

Watch this scene. You will not regret it. And then you will immediately stream this movie on Netflix. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTZVvFn6rmo&feature=related) (Caution: SEXXXY)

I find that this scene is what most people know about Troll 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyophYBP_w4)

Otherwise, cheesy "it's so bad it's great" movies:

Robot Geisha
Bitch Slap
Evil Dead
Jesus Christ - Vampire Hunter
Horror Hospital

Horror Hospital though has the fastest intro to sex ever. seriously, main guy meets main girl on train, they get to the main hospital, go into their room, SEX.

Edit - Here is them meeting on the train. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aimXehypwd0&feature=related)

Hot Shots! with Charlie Sheen I saw it about two days ago...almost pissed my pants. He runs inside a plane and flies off, the girl chasing him tries to catch him by randomly jumping on a horse. Best..ever. Me and my boyfriend were lawling everywhere.

Was going to say Frogs, but from the looks of the other stuff posted, it may have been blown out of the water. Horror story with an environmental moral = scenes with people tossing frogs onto the scenes. Best scene in it involved a guy in a greenhouse with various lizards sneaking in to kill him. For some reason the close ups of the tokay gecko make me laugh every time.

Terrible movies are entertaining when you watch them with friends.

My first vote goes to the first Troll movie. Anything with characters named Harry Potter Jr. and Sr., with Sonny Bono, Julia Louis Dreyfus, and a friendly neighbor Witch with a singing mushroom is guaranteed to be lulzworthy and cheesy. Movie trailer here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7rg8C8w5ZY). I think one of the best lines was, "Party hardy, Harry!"

My second vote goes to Demon Island (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5F28672ZCw) aka The Piņata: Survivor Island. This film was so bad it was good. Basic plot is a bunch of kids go on spring break to an island and are haunted by a demon inside a piņata. This was made in 2002 but the horrible animation would imply that it was made in the late 80's, much like the aforementioned Troll. The piņata reminded me of those talking stone guys that used to be used on various Nick shows.

I'm going to say the South Korean movie, Whispering Corridors. It's a horror movie but there's a scene that made me laugh so hard. To punish a class of girls the teacher makes them all stand on their desks. I kept thinking "What's this accomplishing?"

I had a copy of Manos: Hands of Fate-- the non-MST3K copy-- and that's pretty rough to sit through. The Room and Troll 2 are both terrible, but in ways you can more or less laugh at. Maybe Death Bed: The Bed That Eats?

There's only been a handful of movies I've ever walked out of. Scary Movie was one of them. Monkeybone was another. I'm having trouble remembering other ones that weren't good-bad, just bad-bad, but I've probably blocked them from my memory.

Plan 9 from outerspace AKA Ed Wood's "masterpiece" the absolute worst movie ever made, the writing, acting, special, effects, and continuity are all terrible. At one point a woman is chased by zombies (yes zombies, in a movie with "from outerspace" in the title) in a graveyard at night and runs onto a highway in the middle of the day. Oh did I mention it stars Bela Lugosi, who died years before the film was produced?

The Star Wars Holiday Special. Worth seeing if you haven't before, especially since George Lucas himself doesn't endorse it. So fantastically bad.

The holiday special was pretty bad. I'm pretty sure that Carrie fisher was stoned out of her gourd for the whole thing.

But even worse than that was Gigli. I only got halfway through it before I fell asleep, but the part I saw was sheer crap. For those who haven't seen it the premise is that J-lo and Ben Affleck are gangsters (bad enough already) who kidnap a mentally handicapped kid to hold him as leverage. Affleck spend a lot of time awkwardly trying to seduce J-Lo (who claims to be a lesbian). To top it all of the actor playing the kid does a horribly offensive job portraying a person with disabilities.

You're going to love this then. Supposedly, at least according to Lucas reps that I spoke with at WonderCon, they are releasing it for blu-ray this November (http://www.theforce.net/topstory/story/The_Holiday_Special_Coming_To_BluRay_137440.asp). I can't wait for it! XD

The Room and Plan 9 From Outer Space are up there, but I think the worst movie I've ever seen is a different Ed Wood flick - Glen or Glenda. So bad.

I agree with everyone who said Superbad. Maybe I would have liked it if I were an eleven year old boy, but since I'm not it was pretty stupid. It was also kind of awkward that this guy I was sorta dating thought it was the best damn movie ever made and wouldn't shut up about it. It... kind of made me reconsider our relationship.

I don't understand why "The Room" is being mentioned so often. This isn't the best movies ever thread.

That being said, "Hard Ticket to Hawaii" has possibly the most painful action scene involving a blow up doll and a rocket launcher, "Dead Bed: The Bed that Eats People" forced me to re-evaluate friendships, and "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" was pretty much the worse thing ever.

Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead

It's not really cheesy or the worst movie ever, but rather just plain random and dumb.

The only reason I kind of, and I mean kind of liked it, is the fact that my friend and I joked around throughout our Humanities English 12 class about them and the whole book of Hamlet.

Ditto-ing "The Beast of Yucca Flats" and "The Killer Shrews", which I actually own. (I love old horror movies, no matter how cheesy.)

I also hated The Human Centipede. It's not a horror movie. It's schiezer porn.

My addition to this list:

Clash of the Titans (the re-make) - We refuse to allow the movie into our house.

Subspecies and The Vampire Journals: Don't get me wrong. Radu is a frightening character. But take the vampire element out of the movies and you just have a bad soap opera. It doesn't help that Denise Duff, the lead actress in all four films IS a soap opera actress.

The worst movie I've ever seen is a movie from the late 80s called Cutting Class. Inexplicably Brad Pitt is in it. It's supposed to be a horror flick, and while there are obviously tons of horrible horror movies out there this takes the cake.
BUT if you watch it as a comedy, it is simply amazing :)

I'm sorry, but, Scott Pilgrim. It wasn't even remotely funny, and the acting was horrid.

Redneck Zombies ...hands down the worst movie I've ever been subjected to.

Fun fact from Wikipedia: The title of the film was once used as an answer to a question in an 1980s edition of Trivial Pursuit, the question being "What film has the tagline 'They're Tobacco Chewin', Gut Chompin', Cannibal Kinfolk from Hell! '"

Ugh. It's already been said at least twice but Troll 2. I had a friend who claimed watching this movie would make you stupider. I'm inclined to believe it...what's worse is they actually showed it at some indie theater in Tulsa one weekend and they expected 10 bucks to see it. You would have to pay me 10 bucks to sit through it. I couldn't even finish it this one the first time I saw it and just this year I thought it would be funny to watch it again but I didn't last 10 min.

More along the line of extremely campy;

Rubber - A movie about a used tire that goes on a psychopathic murder rampage in the west.

Seriously

Worst movie: Disaster movie this is a very lousy movie, such a bad movie parody I've ever seen. However Which I could not classify this movie good or bad movie:Big trouble in little China (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yM3-YO7qHs).
Big Trouble In Little China is awesome. Kurt Russell is brilliant in it.

The worst movie I've ever seen (and being an avid Zone Horror fan I've seen many) is Maniac Nurses:

Just got through the Mystery Science Theater 3000 presentation of the Killer Shrews... Lol, first time a hilariously bad movie has actually bored me. Yah. So bad it's not even funny. And really hard to listen.

#2 place - do you have Netflix?

Stream the movie Volcano, fast forward to 46:02, and watch the incredible escape of Bill the Dog. It's the perfect cinematic segue.

Troll 2 is my favorite film ever made. I would suggest that you watch the documentary about it called Best Worst Movie. It helps illustrate the absurdity that the pre, during, and post film experience was for everyone involved. Here's the trailer. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcRyNY13Nnc)

The movie is hilarious on a film level (obviously not on a prima facie level). The filmmakers and the production staff were all Italians who could barely speak English, so most of the scenes are incredibly misdirected and hilarious (Ex. When George Hardy magically knows where the fire extinguisher is). One of the villagers of Nilbog even admits to being high for the entire movie. And the best part is that the Italian writer still thinks that the story is a beautiful tale about humanity's relationship with food.

If I had to estimate it, I have seen Troll 2 over 50 times from beginning to end, 10 times in the theatre, and once with George Hardy himself.

It gets better every time for me.

I got so excited when you said The Beast of Yucca Flats. That's one of my favorite MST3K's. XD My fav MST3K though is probably the one movie from the 80's about this high schooler who gets killed, and his mom contacts a...voodoo user? who turns him into a zombie so he can seek revenge and kill all the kids who made fun of him relentlessly. Can't remember the name for the life of me though...

Hmm...The Crush was pretty awful. It's about this guy who starts living in this rich family's house and their daughter gets this huge crush on him and just kinda does the "If I can't have him, no one will" thing. It's supposed to be a psychological thriller but it was just kinda laughable...except the part where she locks the love interest in her photography studio and puts a whole beehive's worth of bees in through the vent. O_o Nightmares, man.
