I hope i'm putting this post in the right place!

But I need some help with a jacket for a cosplay i'm working on. I plan to do Red Hood from the animated film, Batman: Under The Red Hood. All I really need now, Is the jacket. But how the heck do i obtain such a jacket? Is is made of leather? Leather would cost to much to commision. Basically what i really need to know, is there a place that specialzies in making jackets, and such other garments?

Thrift stores are your friend. I found a 100% wool coat for my Grell cosplay for $20 at Goodwill last month. Check the thrift stores in your local area and see if you can find something similar to the character's jacket (you may need to alter it). If you end up commissioning then ask if they can make it out of pleather or vinyl. It's cheaper then leather (though it'll still cost a bit) and you get the same look.
Ebay is also your friend so long as you look into the seller before buying. If someone has negatives look at the comments and read why. Link (http://clothing.shop.ebay.com/Mens-Clothing-/1059/i.html?_nkw=brown+faux+leather+jacket&_catref=1&_fln=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m282)

I would suggest that you make your own but I don't know your skill level as these types of fabric don't leave room for error. You can alter a basic jacket pattern (you'd probably only need to add the straps on the collar and waist) for this though if you want to give it a shot.

Thanks a lot for replying and helping out. I already tried looking locally for a jacket and had no luck. Is there somewhere I can go to get it commissioned? Like maybe a website or somethig? I have absolutley no skill when it comes to sewing, so any more help would be great. I'll still look around for jackets. Thanks again!

The marketplace here of cosplay.com has a spot for commissions. Check to see if they are legit in the commission review thread and send them a PM/email for a quote. That would be your best bet right now.
Good luck!

Hopefully you'll get some reasonable quotes. Jackets don't tend to cost much. And yes, FANIME!!! lol

second had/resale shops. look for something you can alter into that. I would personally check the ladies coat section since female jackets are usually more stylish and fitting. Scrounge around for an eisenhower jacket it should get you pretty close

No problem:bigtu:

I don't know what your body size is but here is a link to one. It's cheap enough to dye and alter if need be.
