View Full Version : Latex Free Ears

I am wondering if anyone has found any good ears that are latex free. I bought some of the Woochie Small Space Tips, but I am allergic to latex and not sure if I will be able to wear them. I have not been able to find anything else that is acceptable and am in need of some advice.

Latex is undoubtedly the most common material when it comes to elf ears but fortunately it's not the only one. Gelatine is used by many professionals in the make-up effects industry (that's what was used in the Lord of the Rings) and it's possible to even make your own (http://www.alleycatscratch.com/lotr/Article/Ears.htm) custom fit tips. That said they won't hold up for more than an application or two. Silicone is a great choice as it's both realistic-looking and reusable. Silicone ear tips do tend to be more costly than the average latex ears, however. Reelmagik (http://www.reelmagik.com/REELMAGIK/STORE.html) offers a choice of either material and Aradani (http://www.aradanicostumes.com/prosthetics_masks/silicone_prosthetics/small_elf_ear_tips) has silicone (I haven't tried any of them yet but both companies have a good reputation.)
