View Full Version : Gir Cosplay - Planning help?

I'm pretty sure this is the right place. Sorry if it's not.
I want to cosplay Gir, from Invader Zim (http://www.proprofs.com/games/puzzle/sliding/upload/371078_1281671742.jpg), but I'm unsure of the proportions to use.
I'm 5'1'', and not really tall. I'm pretty skinny, too. I don't know if that means much, though. I have the right color materials, and enough of them, I think.
I'm pretty inexperienced at cosply in general, but this is something I really think I can do, as soon as I get the planning done.
The frame is definately going to be made out of thin cardboard, possibly doubled together, with a fabric cover overtop.
I wanted it to be proportioned right, which would mean the head is bigger than the head and the body+legs are about equal, but I don't think that can happen. Instead I think I'm going to shorten the legs, and make the head and torso equal.

I guess I'm looking for suggestions obn how to make this costume look accurate, and still leave me with the ability to move around.
Any suggestions?

My friend has a make-shift GIR cosplay which looks really good if you don't look at her face (does not cover her face XP) and if you don't notice that the zipper is just paper taped on... but if you'd like I could tell you what we used to make it s you can get and idea of how to make it I can even post some pictures of her wearing it

That sounds great! I was planning on using cardboard painted white and covered in green fabric.
