Hello everyone,

Digikoomi and myself are hosting a professional photoshoot in NYC on March 13th 2004. This is a themed photoshoot, and the exact place where the photoshoot will be held will depend upon which theme is most popular on the poll.

The photographers so far, will be Digikoomi and myself. Hopefully by March we will have an other photographer or two. If you would like to see examples of our photography, please see our cosplay.com Galleries, and if that is not enough ..Please visit Digikoomi's website at http://pratt.edu/~cchen

The theme choices are as followed (Note : vote on the POLL, not in text form.)

1)Elegant/gothic lolita/ J-rock

2) Traditional School Uniforms

3) Mainly Asian inspired costumes

***PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO VOTE ON THE POLL! The Poll will only be listed for 60 days.****

For those people whom need these broken down, please see below.

1) Elegant costumes are usually extremely beautiful, expensive, and detailed. Elegant costumes can also run along the lines of Fancy, classical, and fantasy costumes. When I say "Fantasy", no I do not mean Final Fantasy. There are only a few Final Fantasy costumes that will fit this theme, and those are:
Wedding Yuna (Notice I said one. But ,there are a few accept ions. Please ask me about certain characters if you think you have an acception.)

2) Traditional School Uniforms, are things you see in most Japanese animations like X, Utena,DNAngel, and many, many more.

3)Mainly Asian inspired costumes, these are costumes designed from Japanese, chinese, and korean traditional clothing. You will know one of these costumes when you see it ( Unless you've been hiding under a rock ). HOWEVER, this does not include boring Martial arts uniforms, much like someone named Ken would wear from Street Fighter. ...Also, no Chinatown dresses, with Angel wings attached, or something like that. Please, it's been done a thousand times.

These themes have been chosen for a few reasons.

1) Creativity is important
2) There are too many pictures out there of the same group of costumes, it's time to break loose of that.
3) Cosplay is Costume play, not Popularatthetimeanime/videogame play. ( You know the animes, and video games that I am referring to.)
4) Certain costumes look BAD in certain backgrounds, with a theme we can pick the best place for the costumers.
5) The cosplayers will have a nice collection of beautiful photography of themselves, it will make them feel good that they are different than others.
6) ..There are tons of photoshoots that have it "Everything goes".

Q) Hi VK, if just speant a lot of time hand sewing on my Rinoa costume. Can I bring it to the photoshoot?
A) Absolutely not, because it is none of the themes listed.

Q) Can we run around randomly and be extreamly loud during the photoshoot?
A) ..You may run around and be loud, depending on where we are, but ONLY if you cannot see the photographers.

Q) What happens if we need a place to stay, and we can't afford a hotel?
A) Well, depending on how many people want to go, I think you guys can all work together to afford a hotel. -..BUT, if it's too many people, or not enough people ( And you aren't going to be loud and run around too much), then you might be able to sleep in my dorm room. I just have to speak to my room mates about it.

Q) Vk, can we go out for Ice Cream, or not Pizza after the photoshoot?
A)...We can go anywhere you want-...but just for Ice Cream or Pizza. I'm Lactose Intollerant.

Q) Why did you have to make it themed? Theming is stupid, no one is going to want to go. It's not fair.
A) We themed the photoshoot for the reasons above, thanks.

Q) I made a Jedai costume! That is fantasy right?
A) It's sci-fi.

Q) VK, why does your hair look so curly and shiney? How do you get it to not be nappy?
A) ..Really expensive hair products, and combing my hair only when it's wet. It works wonders.

Q) Before in the other thread, you said "Suits always look nice". Can I bring my MIB/Matrix costume?
A) No.

Have a question? Go ahead and ask. ^_^

Whoo hoo for elegant/classic/j-rock!

The costume I'm making is Sara Trantoul from the new Castlevania game- Lament of innocence. that would fit, wouldn't it? Inform me if I'm wrong, and I'll try to think of something else that would be fun to make.

Yes, you can bring an original J-rock or Gothic Lolita costume. In fact you can bring an original elegant costume too.

Just remember to vote on the poll. ^_^

Question: would I be able to go just to see the costumes and such?
I haven't been cosplaying long and I really don't think I've got the skill/money to pull together a knock-out costume for this (since it seems like everyone's going for the first choice). But it sounds like it'll be a spectacular show. *__*

Where exactly is this gonna be at? Lol XD.
And I was wondering that if I did go to this would I be able to do Dagger(a.k.a. Garnet's) princess dress or this white dress that Dejiko wears?

Silly me, I forgot to ask my question ^^;; What photograhpers are coming to the shoot?

Claireon
11-11-2003, 10:00 PM
Darr... I may not have anything good to match any of those themes... Well, we'll see. Guess I'll vote for EGL 'cause if anything my costumes are gonna be getting more floofy.

The answer to both of your questions is in my very first post, please read that; and then ask questions.

To CCAmanda's second question, I don't think Dejiko would work; simply because it's not very elegant. Her "hat" or ears take away from her being elegant/classical/fantasy. It's more cute than anything. I would have to see Dagger's princess dress, if it is what I think it is, then it would be allowed. Dagger's normal costume would not be allowed, that I can say for sure.

Yes you can come and watch, but I really don't think it's going to be much of a "Show". I mean you can always look at the photos online once they are posted.

Anyone come and watch as long as you don't run around and distract the photographers, and the people getting photographed. You cannot however get your picture taken, unless there is extra memory on the photographer's camera at the end of the photoshoot. Also, depending on where we go, the amount of people allowed to watch may be limited.

OH OH OH OH OH I GOTS A QUESTIONS Ms. VK!!

:can hear her muttering profanities under her breath from here::

In regard of the FF question (yeah I know, me a FF cosplayer, there's a shocker), what about Squall's SeeD costume....you know that black and gold thingie he wears for like a 1/4 of the game. Is that cool, or will it get me shot on site?

Great, I will definately mark the date on the calendar ^_^

Vialoi Ketsueke

Squall's seed uniform is not elegant. Sorry Starwind.
( ^-^;;; and I'm not the only one to think this, so don't look at me. Actually, both my room mates said 'no', just so you know who is also judging this stuff. )

In fact, that is the downside of the Elegant/lolita/j-rock photoshoot..It's something a girl can pull off easier than a guy.
The only elegant man cosplay I can think of is..uh...Let me get back to you later when I'm not so tired.

No no, I agree, there's nothing "Elegant" about it,lol. Thus I voted for the non-elegant slot.....someone's gotta fight the power dammit....I'll just have my own photoshoot...with blackjack...and hookers....ah screw the photoshoot....I'll just go to a park and chase squirrels with a stick...they love that...trust me.

Vialoi Ketsueke

since i making a new kimono for my kenshin costume since my old dont fit me anymore ill try to be finish by spring anyways would my kenshin costume be good for ur photoshoot?

Vialoi Ketsueke
11-12-2003, 09:44 PM
Your Kimono would only work if your fabric was silky, or of some high quality fabric such as that. Other than that, No Kenshin would not work for the Elegant photoshoot.

But, Kenshin would work for the Asian type photoshoot.

TheAnarCHris
11-12-2003, 10:19 PM
lol now Ill wanna take a photo of me chasing squirrels with sticks!

YEAH WE'LL HAVE OUR OWN PHOTOSHOOT...CHASING SQUIRRELEs...WITH STICKS...and HOOKERS...AND BLACKJACK!!!

Flippy
11-12-2003, 11:03 PM
YES SQUIRRELS....COOL i want a pet one but it would make the little animal sad if i kept it...i caught a sparrow once and it was so sad and it wouldn't eat....all it would do way move it's head around. it most likely trusted me when i was walking around by it then once it was caught the bird became depressed until i let it go like 1 1/2 hrs later.....i was like 7 then. haven't done anything like that since....not even a pet bug or worm.

Really true question how many people are coming to the shot? (an estimate is okay if u don't have any thing else to work with)

Vialoi Ketsueke
11-12-2003, 11:19 PM
So far I'll say 15 people may be coming, maybe more. Then again, I'm not sure, we still have 60 days until the poll ends.

Please keep this thread on topic.

Vk, would either a kimono or an elf costume work for the Elegant theme (if that's picked as the theme, that is)?

Vialoi Ketsueke
11-13-2003, 03:45 PM
It depends on what you make/made the Kimono or elf costume out of. If the Kimono is made out of satan/silk, or something shiney like that then it would work. Same with the elf costume-..If you are doing an elf costume like Link for instance, it wouldn't work. ..But an Elf costume like the one picture below would work.
http://images.cosplay.com/showphoto.php?photo=72363&password=&sort=1&cat=999&page=1
Notice the costume is shiney, not to mention very pretty. That costume is "elegant". ( And I love that photograph. ) -..I'm not saying everyone's costume should look like that-.. I am just giving an example of what is concidered an "elegant" fabric/costume.

Chibi-Lisa
11-13-2003, 04:30 PM
OKi ^^;; I know I already asked enough questions, but you said depending on what is outvoted, where are each of these Themes going to take place??

Vialoi Ketsueke
11-13-2003, 04:47 PM
Well, for theme #1, we where thinking of a nice park of some sort, and then a church or castle enviroment. For theme #2 I'm not sure about, because it was digikoomi's idea, I'll ask her about it. For theme #3, that would require a asian garden so we'd probably try to be allowed to the one on Staten Island, and if we're not allowed to that one, then there is always Brooklyn Botanical gardens, and a few other places.
Anyway, no matter where we go I will be doing research on it, and making phone calls, I do not want to drag a group out to a certain place only to be turned away.

Tomorrow when I'm out in the city, I'll be scooping certain places out.

would polyester or probably butterick fabric will do?

Vialoi Ketsueke
11-14-2003, 10:01 AM
..Polyester is not an elegant fabric. ..I don't know what butterick fabric is-..but if cheap, dull in color, and anything like polyester..Then No, it won't work.

I'm not sayng this about all costumes though, but if it's kenshin, no it won't work for this photoshoot. Sorry.

Would the group first directily go to the the site that you choose or meet and travel to the spot?
For example just you can find out that the shot is going on in a "park" from on-line annocements. Then you can get you pics taken and can leave or go out and eat afterwords with every one else that showed up.

or

We all go somewhere and travel as a group to the "park" and then get pics and do/do not stuff afterwards.

Uh...We have not got to that point yet, it will all depend on where the photoshoot is being held.
If anything we will meet up as a group so no one will get lost, or left behind.

Kenshin,
The cost of Satin depends on where you buy it....Also if you are doing a regular "kenshin" costume, that probably still will not be elegant, even in satin. If you where doing a highly detailed kimono of some sort then it would be elegant. ..But Kenshin's regular clothing is not elegant. I one time saw a very beautiful Kagome costume, this was at the first BAAF. The costume was made of satin and a few other fabrics, that costume was elegant because of it's detailing.

Neoangelwink
No, purple striped stockings does not mean you are dressing in code with the theme, unless you have the rest of the costume.

Animechicky,
Heh, I'm glad you can come. Actually, some asian costumes go along with the elegant theme, so if you have an idea of an asian costume that you wish to bring, just let me know.

Flippy
11-15-2003, 06:36 PM
are there any cartoon network characters that you think would fit the elegant silky theme. i mean if done realistically; for example Teela Zain Elmes from Pilot Candidate or Lady Tokimi/ Tsunami from Tench Muyo

Vialoi Ketsueke
11-15-2003, 10:17 PM
I don't watch every anime, so therefore I do not know what certain characters look like, but I think there are some Elegant characters in Tenchi Muyo if I remember correctly. Also, just because I said "Silky" to kenshin, does not mean everyone has to have silky fabric.

Let me say this to everyone. ( Because I am somewhat surprised at the questions people are asking me. )

Please THINK about what "elegance" means, if you do not know what it means then perhaps you should turn to a dictionary.
Also here is a list of animes that I have in mind when I say "elegance" Please do you research before asking questions, thank you. Also, just because I list an anime, does not mean for you to look at ALL the characters in the anime, only certain characters/costumes work.

Clover
X
Last Exile
Record of Lodass
Yami No Matsuei
Fushigi Yuugi
Utena
Angel Santuary
Sailor Moon

And many many more, I just cannot think of any off the top of my head.

These are the characters that will NOT work.

Rinoa from FF8
Alucard from Hellsing
Everyone from Trigun
Squall from FF8
Pretty much EVERYONE from FF7, and FF8.

A character wearing jeans.
A character wearing a t-shirt
A character wearing anything not "special"
A character where you can pretty much go out and buy their clothing at a regular department store.

And of course there is Much more to this list.

..If I was Cosplay.com admin, I bet you guys wouldn't ask so many questions...

Sorahana
11-16-2003, 09:23 AM
So would Alvis Hamilton from Last Exile work? Yes I did read the previous post but I'm just double checking ^__^.

Vialoi Ketsueke
11-16-2003, 10:03 AM
..Alvis..Alvis.. I just drew a blank. That's pretty pathtic I just watched the anime last week. Who is Alvis again?
..Is Alvis the little girl? If so, she would work.
Anyway, Lavi or Claude would not work-----.. Unless you put Claude in the guilde uniform that he wears.
Alex would work nicely, and so would the princess.,not to mention pretty much anyone from the Guild. Of course in the end it all depends on how you handle your material.

( Alex is more classical, then elegant But, his character is somewhat elegant in the way he behaves. Plus he'd look good in a church background,or outside.)

Vialoi Ketsueke

I asked him a couple months ago to go to this event, but I think he is more interested in the other NY event. ..If you wanted to have him come you should have asked me about it first. Due to the fact that if Mariboshi does come down he'll need a place to stay..
Plus the cosplayers will have to pay for his plane ticket,subway/taxi, and maybe his hotel. ( Do you know how much hotels are in NYC? )
I do not think anyone here was expecting to pay more than 10$ for this photoshoot.
I mean I would love mariboshi to come down, in fact I would be thrilled, and I thank you for your gesture, but you really should have asked first..

Hey guys, Maboroshi happens to be a pretty good friend of mine since I lived in Florida and such, and I'm the one that got him up here for the Providence Shoot. To let you know the basics, I had everyone pitch in $20, and that just BARELY covered his airfare. He was able to stay at my boyfriend's house, and had to pay for his own food, which I felt TERRIBLE about.

New York is FAR more expensive than Rhode Island, and until we get a good head count on how many are definitely coming and stuff, let's not totally swoon over the idea, since I sincerely doubt that a handful of people are going to want to fork over about 50 dollars each to pay for his expenses.

Vialoi Ketsueke
11-25-2003, 10:51 PM

..I am not sure what you just said.....But I think I have the basic idea...and, I'm not answering you because I've already said it 1000 times in this thread. Please READ the thread, it's not too hard. By the sounds of your last post on this thread, I have a strong feeling that you cannot attend this photoshoot because you do not have the requirements to attend.

Honestly, this photoshoot is for skilled cosplayers of some form or an other. That is why we themed the photoshoot. We want high quality costumes, that have taken time and effort to complete. I am very close to making it a requirement to have people show us a peice of their costume before actually attending the photoshoot

NOTE:
IF YOU DO NOT FOLLOW THE THEME THAT IS PICKED, DO NOT COME TO THE PHOTOSHOOT. YOUR PHOTOS WILL NOT BE TAKEN. PERIOD.

..And this is not because "VK" is a big meanie-poo, it's because this is what has been decided, and it is the rules.
If you cannot follow these rules...well..there is always the Photoshoot in upstate NY. I will not take it personal if you don't like the rules, so don't even try arguing with me. I'll just say "See you later."

Heck I'd pay for Maboroshi to come!! ( I mean I'd be willing to pay the fee he charges for photoshoots). The both of you taking pics would be interesting lol XD. I wanted to go to the one that he's going to but I can't because its way too far. But hey I'll hopefully be coming to this one and your photos are just amazing ^__^.

..well, you aren't really paying for Maraboshi's service, you are paying for his flight, and his hotel room..Then again if you want to pay him for service..heheh, then you have to pay me as well, not to mention Digikoomi, and whatever other photographer shows up.

Anyway...Maraboshi does not like it when people take photos next to him/or with him of the same cosplayer. I asked him if I could at the providence photoshoot, and he basically said "hahaha, How about no." ..So, in order for us both to take photos, we'd have to be working in different places.
..^^ Thank you on the compliment.

Ach, I know I should of asked first >< Sorry about that. But I never asked to come to the shoot, I actually wanted to see if it was a go with you, and others who are willing to pay. I'll pay too ^^

..I was actually thinking of builing a cosplay photo web site, and build it into my studio work and then advertising the crap out of it...but..if you guys really want Mariboshi because he has the famous "risingsun.net"..then I guess I have no need.

Ang, if you want to talk to Maboroshi about the photoshoot, and kindly ask him to attend and what not, then I'm sure everyone will appreciate your kindness.
I wouldn't mind Maboroshi coming to the photoshoot ( don't get me wrong), but I am slightly worried about the cost for him coming, especially seeing that the photoshoot is themed, so that means less people will be attending, thus making the bill much higher.
..
But as I did mention before, I did speak to Maboroshi about the photoshoot, and he never gave me an answer..He did reply to me once, and that was the last I heard of him. I'm not one to keep chasing after someone, so I didn't bug him again.

Well down in Florida they have Moboroshi, here we have Dave Ng, VK,cosplayphoto, and Myself. So Moboroshi is not the only good photographer out there, hope you guys understand me. Plus I own the same camera that Moboroshi has. And either paying Maboroshi to come here, why we just do it ourself for free?

Really?? Then I don't mind. I could really care less ^^;; I'd love to see your cosplay photo website ^^ Soo don't say you have no need. We really need someone in NY that could do that. I'll give up on having him come.

Ok...I'm back after reading all of that blubber. And here are my answers to everything since I had to deal with it for the Providence Shoot.

First...If you don't like the idea of a themed shoot, don't come. I got a lot of heat from the so-called "Nyo Cosplay" group in New York when I organized the Providence shoot. If you don't like the theme, and don't want to make a costume to FIT that said theme, then stop asking the dumb questions and don't bother coming to the thread and picking our brain cells only to get the answer no.

Second...I've decided not to contact Maboroshi. Digikoomi was right when he stated that we have other photographers up here, and the cost of him flying up here with accomodations ESPECIALLY to New York of all places would be outrageous, so let's stick with the locals for now. For the love of God though don't contact Kevin Lillard.

And third...My first location idea that popped in my head for the EGL look would be the castle in Central Park. Nuff said. Lol.

I actually have an intense gothic/elegant idea, better than my Victoriana (and ADULT lolita look, corset/bustle/etc...) idea...(which is getting turned into a gothic fairy for the NE_COSP spring photoshoot which I'm going to hold at URI I think.) I'm going to work with it and see what comes out of it. Hehe.

Does anyone now where they have a the info about other pro or decent photoshots with in a couple hr radius of NYC. I don't care about the theme, i'll see if it works for the costumes i'm planning on making after i hear the theme. Well thanks if any one knows and if not then i'll wait until i go to a con next month :)

Well the castle is a good idea...however, from what Anna from NYO was telling me they had a difficult time entering the castle with costumes on.
They will not let you in if your costume looks like..it pretty much was made for the castle. (It's a security measure. It's basically just like in Disney-..you can't dress up and walk around like a Disney character.)
So we can try to go to the caslte, but I fear we won't get very far.

Ang
12-02-2003, 09:03 PM
You mean to tell me that even in New York they won't allow strange people to dress up and go in Central Park? Hell, a couple years ago I got very high in Central Park and became paranoid enough to know that I was very high, and that the cops could probably tell and they STILL did nothing. (I no longer do drugs...it's a very bad thing!!!)

Not that there aren't enough places we could go to and stuff...We'll just have to be discreet about it is all.

Ang

Sorry for the double post...But I do have a student ID for an art school. It's not a local art school, but it's still a valid ID. I did this before in Tampa, basically you flash the ID, mention a student project, make a fake letterhead and you are ready to go.

And of course, mentioning the whole "personal use" of photos as well as student project, and NOT mentioning a website, online or public gallery, helps a lot too. I speak from experience. I've been with cosplay groups that have been thrown out of the Castille in St. Augustine and almost out of a Japanese Garden in Boca Raton.

Vialoi, since you are organizing this, maybe when you get a chance to leisurely speak to an NYPD officer, mention the idea and see what he says. Say a student fashion project, and be as nice as possible.

Vialoi Ketsueke
12-02-2003, 09:33 PM
..Well, it's not really the police that are in charge of the castle-..It's the owners and the workers at the castle it's self. The cops could careless if you walk around half naked. -..Just look at the cowboy in Times Sq.
Although, maybe if I go to this castle and talk to the people in charge they might make an acception if they know ahead of time when we are coming. I'll look into it.

Ang
12-02-2003, 09:54 PM
Well I've walked around the castle freely quite often, and we even planned to film a Star Wars Fan Film on it and got no ill responses from what I know. So yeah, talk to them and see what they can do.

Vialoi Ketsueke
12-05-2003, 12:52 AM
Well, a starwars film is a little different. Like I said .."They don't want people walking around inside of the castle with clothing that looks like it fits the castle in anyway"
This is because if someone dressed in let's say a ..big poofy that looks like it could possibly fit the castle theme, is wandering around there is a chance she'll get mistaken as a staff member of some sort. That is what the people at this castle do not want.
From what I was told..someone tried to wear ( I think it was Digi Charet.. )costume into the castle and they would not allow it...

Man I'm tired.

To all of you wondering if your ideas fit into the photoshoot, GO HERE:

http://www.morbidoutlook.com/fashion/articles/2002_07_gothiclolita.html

If your costume looks like that, great. If it's babydoll, gothic, victorian, EGL, EGA, remake (Elegant Gothic Lolita, Elegant Gothic Aristocrat, and remake, which is torn, destroyed, frayed edges, very industrial look). There's a lot of different methods to this, and there is a LOT of room for stuff. However, EGL means making yourself look a VERY certain way, achieved through various ways. If your costume (Garnet from Final Fantasy for example..) has NOTHING to do with looking Lolita (babydollish), Aristocrat (Victorian to the Nth degree), or J-rock (That goes without saying. If you don't know WHAT that is, go search for it on google.com). Chii from Chobit's costumes are at time very Lolita, as is Alichino, and Under a Glass Moon.

Ang
01-20-2004, 08:43 PM
Well, the costume I'm planning isn't Victorian OR babydoll, but it is period and fits into the genre nicely. However, if all else fails I do have an EGA to fall back on.

mm...technically, i could come. i'm on vacation then and if i timed things right, i might be close by (my family is going on day trip college visits this spring) but i'm not so sure my parents will be up for it. Vialoi Ketsueke
02-27-2004, 11:39 PM
..Hm.. Honestly, I am going to say that...I do not believe it is worth the trip to NYC for a Photoshoot if you live more than three hours away. I would feel simply awful if something where to go wrong, you did not have fun, or who knows it could start raining or snowing.
Now, I attended the Providence photoshoot in August. I had a fun time, however do not believe I would have enjoyed it quite as much if I did not live fifteen minutes from providence.

Now, don't get me wrong.. I'm not saying you shouldn't come.. ^-^ Just to think it over several times.

Vialoi Ketsueke
03-06-2004, 10:15 PM
Of course boys are allowed~ Seeing that the theme is "Elegant/gothic lolita/ jrocker, that does not mean you have to walk around in a frilly costume. .. Especially if you are a boy. It simply means that you cannot show up in normal anime costume..that most people wear these days ( you know..something like Dragon Ball Z, FF7,FF8, Naruto, ect..ect.-..The costume has to have some sort of special flare to it.)

Please just let me know what you intend on bringing, and I'll let you know if it's okay or not.
I am sorry for my delay on posting. I've been in a odd mood lately. Anyway. The meeting place is indeed Central Park zoo, the exact location of our meeting spot is 64th street and 5th avenue.

Hmm.... Skilled Cosplayers huh? I SEE... HAHAHAHA...and who are you to judge who's skilled or not? ::sigh:: BTW, taking pictures in NY can be a hassle. People will think you're trying to make money off of those pictures and kick you out of the place -- just to mention... another issue, give the zoo a call before going in -- or else, you'll be just as disappointed as the NYO people were during the Cloisters Shoot.

For those coming in from out-of-state and are not familiar with NYC, I will be there early at a large, central location, for anyone who needs assistance in getting to the rendezvous point by Central Park Zoo at 64th St and 5th Ave.

I will be at the Virgin Megastore, in Times Square (45th Street and Broadway) at 10:00 AM. The store is accessible via Subway using the 1, 2, 3, N, R, Q, or W trains to 42nd Street. When you exit out of the Subway station, just head North (street numbers will increase) and off to the right (there will be a very large neon sign identifying the store). The store is right by a Toys R Us and across the street from the Marriott Marquis Hotel. Look for an Asian guy standing right inside the store by the doors in a beige trenchcoat.

I will be leaving with anyone who will be at the cosplay shoot by 10:30 PM sharp.

Please send any questions or concerns directly to me via mail at dng@suffolk.lib.ny.us. See you all there!

I think you misunderstood what I was saying. ..and I know the trouble NYO had. So therefore we will NOT be taking photos at the zoo, we are only meeting by the Zoo for the convenience of the location.( We might take photos in front of the zoo, that is if someone shows up in costume) We also will not be going to the Cloisters, because of the problem NYO had. People keep asking me about going to the "castle". I cannot guarantee we will be entering the castle, because someone's costume might look too good in there. ( yes, it sounds odd, but the "Castle" security does not want someone that actually looks like they work at the "castle" to be trotting around inside. This is for security reasons.)

If you do not like way I word things, than perhaps next time you should PM me. Okay, thank you. Also if you do not like the idea of this..then don't come. It's that easy. We are only doing this for fun. I am not Mariboshi, I do not have a web page, I am also not Kyle. I do not run cosplay.com,or have fancy smancy Photo shoots for people so I can have them in the "Spotlight.". I am speaking for myself when I say this..
I am doing the photoshoot to be generous. People enjoy my photography, and I enjoy taking pictures of people when they allow me to do so.
Frankly.. I could care less if you do not show up, it just gives me more time to work on other people. ..and if no one shows up ..It just gives me time to go shopping, and take pictures of other things other than cosplay.

ANYWAY,
For those people whom are coming, please feel free to come in your costume.. It will be more convenient for the photographers, and the other cosplayers if you are already in costume. All you need to do is cover your costume up, ..or you can always put on some of the costume, this way it will make things easier. As for putting on makeup.. I highly recommend just bringing a mirror. The lighting in public bathrooms usually sucks anyway. In fact, I'll bring a mirror.

-.- I think this will be my last public photoshoot, due to the amount of COMPLAINING from people. This is somewhat disappointing, ..ah well.
