So I'm going to go as Ghetsis from Pokemon BW (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:Black_White_Ghetsis.png) and I'm having difficulty with the eyepiece. Now, I have glasses, so my gut reaction was to make the piece out of foam rubber and cellophane and stick it on there.

It looked great. It looked awesome even. But the issue is that it made me VERY dizzy. It was effectively like wearing one side of 3D glasses.

Is there anything I can do that won't do that? I have balance issues related to my right eye, and so wearing red film over it won't do, no matter how good it looks. Anything where it will look red to the viewer but not to me wearing it?

(also still seeking advice on his mantle!)

Maybe its just the optical properties of the cellephane wonking things up... maybe a red sunglasses lens would work alright? Lol, you could go to a store that sells sunglasses and walk around holding one side of it up to your eye for a while to see if that messes you up too.
I can't really think of anything that's colored on one side by totally not on the other, but there are those mirrored sunglasses that look grey or brown from inside (heh, copied from a wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mirrored_sunglasses)) I'm not sure if you could make mirrored lenses, but you may be able to buy some sort of film (like on this site (http://www.visionwindowfilms.co.uk/Red-One-Way-Mirror-Window-Film.aspx), or thisone (http://www.abodewindowfilms.co.uk/acatalog/Red_Reflective_Window_Film.html)) that you could apply or just buy a pair of the glasses and use the lens

Here's an article about how one-wayed mirrors like mirrored sunglasses work (http://www.howstuffworks.com/question421.htm)

So how could that be made into that eyepiece then?
