Okay. I plan on doing a Belthway cosplay, as when I saw him I instantly liked the dude. (I like big armoured guys with shotguns, like Rios)

So if anyone has any info dump it here and I will also do my best too.

http://img.jeuxvideopc.com/artwork/48623-resident-evil-operation-raccoon-city-5_640.jpg

Only problem I can see is his bionic leg...

I'll dig up some info about gear and such and post it here.

Yeah i can see that too.

Mask looks a custom model, the leg i had an idea for. A high boot that will be layered with aluminium (its cheap) and the kneepad part of the boot. I think with some magic it would work.

Yeah your right, that mask is gonna be a pain. The only thing i can think of is to get a gas mask that looks as close as you can get and custom make the area around the lenses then just add a helmet!! glad to see someone doing a beltway, good luck!!!!

Just quickly editing saying its a U.S. Army M45 series. Im sure I can search for one cheap!

Hey Mate
I have decided to take on the Beltway costume as well. I have started and it is really pissing me off. For the knee pad and elbow pads go to Airsoftclub. For the mask I think you could go with the gas mask or do it in 3 separate parts. What I will be doing is using a 3M Respiratory Mask and a BMX helmet and scratch building the eye area. For the shoulders and neck guard I am just going to be using foam and for the behind vest a idea could be a bullet proof vest (which I am going to be using) and a BDU uniform (you can get the BDU and vest from Airsoft as well). Hope this helps. If you find out anything else I would highly appreciate it.
Thanks,

My tip for the helmet: get a Protec or similar sports helmet, and you might want to get it a size smaller than you'd normally wear. In fact, a youth one may be preferable. His sits so close to his head that what you'd need to do is pull out the padding inside the helmet so it sits down on your head, and you'll need to do some custom cutting to make it fit around the lenses of the gas mask like his does.

Definitely some customization is gonna need to be done, but you can nail the look if you do it properly!

Also, his gun is a Remington 870 with a heatshield. But for simplicity's sake, it's probably best just to get an airsoft Mossberg 500.

Your Welcome!! but as for the leg...ummm im not really the best at making props..lol ummmmm maybe go to your local hardware store and look for cheap things..like plastic (to make the brace of the leg) some accordion venting stuff thingy ( what your dryer vent hose looks like) for the body of the leg. and build it all around an actual boot.....idk thats my best shot in the dark sorry!!!!! lol good luck!!!! i know what its like to be on a time crunch.. i did my Vector costume in 3 weeks!!!

Thats actually pretty good. Was thinking of something similar myself, you can easily add the random belt that goes across his chest.

Although looking again, it doesnt seem so random, its got shotgun slugs and stuff in it.

Do you know how much you would have to to customize that mask to even make it look close, the "nose area" of Beltways mask is completely different, so is where you put the filters. so if ppl do get the M45 they are gonna have to REALLY trick it out in order to get a close looking mask, just saying. Its the same reason i went with the FM12 over the S10 for Vector. (Plus as a side note the M45 is about $400-600 dollars,so if you dont wanna break the bank i would say just make your own style mask. I saw a Beltway with a 3mm respirator, a bmx helmet, and some "mean looking" sunglasses and to tell you the truth, it looked awesome!!! )

KAY! leadmill asking if i was interested in KITACON has got me pumped to finish him, plus the game will be out by then for extra details and I'm sure the wonderful community of GMOD will HEX the models.

I did some searching and came across this.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/250454464209?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2648

I think its a close match, and will need minimal work. Or maybe a lot and wondered what you guys think. I'm buying it anyway (want a new mask lol) but I thought it looked similar.

I'm working on a Beltway loadout myself, just ordered a cheap tac vest to use as a base for the foam and fiberglass I'll put over it. Also ordered a small, knockoff ProTec helmet to cannibalize for the helmet and a 3M half-mask respirator. What are really tripping me out is the eyes. I haven't yet found any good goggles to use as a base. Has anyone made any progress into the eyewear?

Garfsan
12-16-2011, 05:46 PM
Thinking of using this as my base for Beltway.

Just started getting interested in a Beltway outfit myself and this thread definitely looks like it helps. To me, it seems like the best thing for the mask is to take this 3M Respirator...

http://www.conney.com/wcsstore/Conney/images/fullsize/75298.gif

Paint it black...cannibalize the mask posted above for the goggles...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/250454464209?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2648&clk_rvr_id=311252279372

I was thinking to hide the rest of the face, I could use either some more mask like rubber to hide the exposed faced or more simply, like a balaclava, though any ideas would help. This would then just take the Protec helmet like people were talking about and seem to have something close to his design.

The rest of the outfit would just be like a black pair of coveralls, pads, the tac vest that someone posted earlier, some gloves that would need customization, build the lower leg prosthetic, and then lots of belts lol What could be done about the bomb technician type collar and should parts? Also looking at the back of Beltway in a gameplay piece, he has something like...armor on his back? I guess I'll just have to wait and play the game to see more, but I'm not gonna build this right away, so I got time, heh.

*EDIT*
Actually, I guess I could go with some black BDU's for the regular clothes. Makes more sense, heh.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Military-Type-BDU-Pants-Army-Cargo-Fatigue-Solid-Colors-/200674108384?pt=US_CSA_MC_Pants&var=&hash=item746c59aa1a

*DOUBLE THE EDIT, DOUBLE THE FLAVOR*
And for the patch he uses, I just need to grab the RE:ORC special edition which comes with the specific patch he has on his arm which isn't just a regualr Umbrella patch. Quite handy.

OtterKohl

I definitely used that exact respirator for the mask.

Kayobreaker
02-07-2012, 10:00 PM
my vest is comin in tomorrow gunna go buy the 3m thuresday and then find a helmet and figure out the goggles part lol

Berserkfhurer
02-09-2012, 07:00 PM
For the helmet, I've heard you guys mention gutting a BMX helmet to use
for this costume. Have you considered a leather skull cap? I like the half-
mask respirator idea, and I may have found the solution for your "goggle" dilemma.

http://www.fullspectrumeyewear.com/global-vision-big-ben-goggles.htm

Not only do these offer some what pointed tips, thick frame around the
lenses, but they also give you the extra ridge just above the nose that
you see on Beltway's mask.

OtterKohl
02-09-2012, 07:24 PM
Those are awesome, thanks for that.

Berserkfhurer

I'd say the most difficult thing with Beltway is that gimp leg of his.
I've been looking around at all sorts of knee and ankle braces, and
nothing I've found so far comes even remotely close to it, and the
price is outrageous.

I did however, have an idea for the odd spiral pattern in the center
of the thing. Dryer tubing. It has the same coiled, ribbed look to it
as Beltway, though the spacing of each rung may not be authentic.
Find it in white and paint it up to the desired color. The only problem
with it that I can think of is getting it to form right. I guess a person
could cut it in half and then carefully mark the outline of their calf so
that you can cut it to the desire specifications.

Kamikaze Kay
02-11-2012, 12:36 PM
I thought of dryer tubing myself also for the inside, but the rest of it will take some work to build and I'm not quite sure how to go about it yet. I could do it really cheap with some plastic like cut up PVC or wire and foam paper, the PVC/wire helping to support the foam so it isn't too flismy, which would work well for the upper part and the rings, and then have it supported by some actual PVC or painted wood strips parts to connect to the foot, of course then having it be attached in two parts so it can fit around the leg for easy removal.

Of course the best thing would be too do like molds and have something fiberglassed, but I have no clue how to do that stuff lol

Well my friends I also joined the beltway line.

Now for vest I pick the following:\
http://www.ebay.com/itm/130642124074?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_4795wt_1112

for the leg I'll be using a lot of tubing. I'll do my best by taking pictures piece by peace to see if i'll help you all. for the helmet it is advised to use the respirator, mean goggle combo since is more closely resemble him than the m45 mask and it also is cost efficient.

The leg for now is a combination of 3 wide tubing, 2 pipes cut in half moons to make it 4, wish will also help save space to use the accordion tubing for the rest of the leg. like i said this is a rough description but as soon as i start working I'll share.

Raykimaru and Captain Jack first off I'm sorry for such a late reply on that. Originally I got the file from my friend who knew the guy that made it but for some odd reason wouldn't tell me who exactly and I didn't really get a straight answer until now because he let me in on some other projects. Weird... Anyways so sorry about that and here is his facebook page https://www.facebook.com/a1td405?ref=ts&fref=ts his name is Jakkrit, Sorry this is the only way I know how to get in contact with him.
