For those of you who don't know the rules of the internet, Rule 63 states that for every male character, there's a female version of that character, and with female character, there's a male version of that character. So for example- We have a male Ichigo and female Orihime. In Rule 63, we have a female Ichigo and a male Orihime. Get the idea?

Has anyone done a Rule 63 cosplay of a character? Would you consider doing a Rule 63 character cosplay?

By the way- this is completely different than crossplaying. So be careful not to mix the 2 up

i like the rule63's....as long as it not a 'lazily' put together: exchange pants for a skirt and add makeup and longer hair....that's just a personal preference for a rule63- for anything.
Like, Naruko/Naruto for example.
i've seen the creative, and then the just plain 'i added pigtails'...to each his own but at least don't call it a crossplay or a rule63'd if it's just adding longer hair...comeon now.
EDIT: I'm planning a Rule63'd Solf Kimblee ; >

I thought it was rule 34...so not up to snuff on things.

But I might finish plans for male Scanty >.>

I'm making my thief cosplay so I can switch between a crossplay and a rule 63 version of the thief. Basically the jacket and the shorts'll be adjustable so they can be lengthened. In "guy mode" I'll;

Wear football socks with the longer shorts to get a male version of the Thief's ZR.
Fold the wig's bangs and untie the ponytail for a sort of dashing (cough) rogue look.
Wear the jacket at full length (I suppose I could also go shirtless, but I don't really have the stomach for it...both literally and figuratively).
Let my stubble grow a bit, and leave my legs unshaven (unless they're already shaved in which case I'll just have to make do).

I think rule 34 is the one about 'if it exists, there is porn of it'.

There are a number of "rules" popularised by message boards such as Something Aweful and 4Chan. The most well know of which are Rule 34 (if it exists there is pornography based on it), Rule 35 (if there is an exception to 34 it will not be one for long) and Rule 63 (for every male character there exists a female version and vice versa).

TV Tropes (where else) has a list of them; http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RulesOfTheInternet

It's kinda (http://rule63.paheal.net/_images/bfc1b367c352800ecaa7f4a305c512b7/8872%20-%20Gary_Oak%20Pokemon%20Red.png) tempting (http://rule63.paheal.net/_images/5e4c0fafd533c188a5e120315f97e0bd/7931%20-%20Gary_Oak%20Green%20Pikachu%20Pokemon%20Red.jpg) . But my fears are that a Rule 63'd Gary/Green would look nothing less than lazy. It's one of those cases where you could simply slap a skirt on and call it a day... his outfits don't really lend themselves to more interesting female versions, from what I can tell. Like my friend said, "Just don't wear your binder and say you're fem!Gary" D: I'd hate to be thought of as lazy, though I don't know if this has been done before and it would be pretty cool to know who would still recognise the character as a girl.

Also, when I searched for Rule 63 versions, I ended up with Rule 34 too. OH INTERNET 8D

Whenever they are too manly to crossplay....
I've added Fem!Ezio (or whatever his name is) from assassin's creed onto my dream cosplay list =3=

I think rule 63 can be downright hilarious to cosplay. A little creativity never hurts - after all, it's pretty fun to think of what that character would choose to wear if they were the opposite gender. Sometimes it comes down to what that character idealizes about the other gender, and that can be a whole world of silly. I chose to cosplay a 63d Jiraiya of Naruto, for the laughs, and it turned out to be a pretty big hit this year.

So what do you like best about rule 63d (genderbent) cosplaying? Humor? Sex appeal? Creativity? Do people have a hard time recognizing your character that way?

I cosplayed as Ganondorf from LOZ: The Wind Waker last year, but the cosplay didn't go as to planned photography wise and the props got damaged due to crap weather conditions, so re-working on it later this year. Everything is exactly the same apart from it's more feminine, like a Geisha-Ganon. It was pretty hilarious.
