Depends on your skill level of sewing. When I made my loyalty Miranda I took a purchased spandex bodysuit and modified it. For the hexagon Miranda i made it from 2 way stretch vinyl and it was not easy, and you have to make sure it will fit you perfectly so you cannot use patterns intended for 4 way bodysuits.
The hexagons on the costume I made were special printed onto the vinyl at a print shop. It is risky since the vinyl can melt, but it seemed to work just fine. If you purchased white spandex you can always get the hexagons printed at fabricondemand.com
I am a bit sleepy, so I hope this helped xD

To the person above where did you get your spandex bodysuit?

I purchased it on ebay, but you have to be careful about who you buy from since they can get measurements wrong or be an untrustworthy seller. The seller I had switched stores so I cannot find them. If you look up "black zentai bodysuit" you will find a lot. It cost about 30 bucks after shipping (from China)

Do not buy from milanoo. They have cheap suits but it is because they screw up your measurements and take forever to ship.

I am kinda committing thread necromancy here, but I didn't want to open up a new thread.

I have been looking over a lot of people's Miranda's cosplays I have noticed a variety of techniques to tackle her costume.

I was planning on attempting her Loyalty outfit, but only with making an actual pants and jacket instead of the catsuit and paint method. So I guess my question is this... the side panels that are generally orange/gold, what kind of material would you use? To me, it looks like the same breathable material from a pair of men's basketball shorts (because of the black dots). I was debating the wisdom of trying to use that in my piece. Would I be better off with the paint method, if only for my sanity? Since I do plan on using vinyl?

I would use a jersey mesh like this: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/290595943223?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_500wt_832

It's a little /too/ orange though.

That was my concern with using that type of material, I would have to find something for the piping in the EXACT same color.
