I've been thinking of trying binding and was wondering, are there any potential health hazards to it? ^^;;; and I think I'm still going through puberty(age14) so... just to be safe @x@?

I'm not a doctor or a specialist on this but I don't think it would hurt you. I mean, if you were binding everyday for really long periods of time, then yeah, it probably could. But just for like a con or something, it probably wouldn't hurt. If you are really unsure about it, just don't do it. No one will say anything bad b/c you didn't want to squish your breasts together. XD ^-^ Hope it helps!

My 13-year-old daughter binds for cosplay. It hasn't affected her at all. *shrug*

You do what YOU feel comfortable doing. ^^

The potential hazards are injuries from improper binding/binding too tight. People have caused bruises, broken ribs, etc from this. Read over the threads here on the site to get a good idea of how to do it, and if it hurts, stop. You can try re-binding or just go without. No costume is worth injury.

Since you'd only be wearing the binding for a few hours, for no more than 3 days in a row you don't have too much to worry about.

The damage starts when you bind too tightly for too long - and like Gren said it's usually your ribs that'll suffer the damage, not your breasts.

haha yah umm i know this post is a little late but umm thought i would anyway ^_^" ...... ehem..... anywho...... i'm 15 and i'm also crossplaying this year and i'm also kind of worried about binding.... but i have a plan.... you se i'm a dancer, and while i was thinking of binding i remebered that whenever i wore my leotard it pushes my chest in a little.... so just to be on the saft side, being my frist year cosplaying and all and i don't want to do it wrong, i descided to just wear my leotard under my clothes... the leotard still shows your chest a little but its alot smaller than my average size and with my outfit the shirt is kind of baggy so it works.... but like what everyone else said its all up to you whatever you feel more cofortable with! i'm just here to thro out some ideas....

and just a random question, who are you crossplaying as and for what con?

yeah, I'm going to try the same thing, only with a sports bra or something. ^^v
uugh, how do parents normally react to the idea of binding? x_x; I'm worried.
I'm crossplaying as Die, from Dir en Grey (Kisou era: http://sg.geocities.com/visualworld01/photo/arena0202-die02.jpg) for Katsucon ^^ what about you? :E

Personally, I don't even bother binding. My breasts are too big. It would be like putting SIN into a tupperware bowl. (You know, the sphere thingy from FFX? YEah...)

Anyway, I have heard that binding breasts that are still developing can be very panful and annoying. I don't see the point, honestly, but you know, whatever. Uh...yeah. Bye.

I don't think it's going to hurt you i mean you are only going to wear it for a while plus i think you grow no matter what, but don't do it eveyday, thats never good.
