I'm a huge Spider-Man fan and decided I need to make a Spider-Man Tron costume.

I'm not sure where to start! What quality spandex do you think would work? Does anyone have a good idea how to get red lights into the costume...I'm assuming LED lights work?

Help is appreciated....

I have no idea about the spandex, but someone elsewhere on the forum mentioned that a lot of Tron cosplayers use reflective tape because it's flexible and looks like it's glowing really brightly in pictures taken with a flash. If you used LEDs it seems like it would be difficult to diffuse the light enough (to make it look like solid stripes instead of lots of dots), but here's a general LED tutorial in case you want to try that: http://www.kamuicosplay.com/2010/09/bring-some-light-in-your-life.html

Reflective tape is the cheaper, easier method of getting that effect, but if you're daring (and seeking the optimum "look"), EL tape is the way to go. It'll burn brightly in person, and will do you well in photos without flash.
