Hey

I'm going to be cosplaying Tsubaki from Soul Eater next AB con and I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion on A) Whether to use a prop (like one of her weapon forms) B) Which one, or C) How to make it. Any help would be really useful as I have no experience with props, only costumes. Thanks

Probably best to ask in the props subforum, ne?

Edit:
Cosplaying without props isn't at all uncommon, though I personally think it leaves the cosplay "incomplete", in the sense that unless there's a very good reason for the character to not currently have some defining prop/accessory/something, then the cosplayer should make every effort to have it.

Personal two cents, of course.

I guess that for Tsubaki the best default prop is her kusari-gama (chain-scythe) form; I always dreamed of making the huge kagekata chain-blades, but as I didn't remake the cosplay, I am not thinking of related props any more.
I still remember the day I got my prop. I just went to my dad and asked him, "I sort of need a thing looking like this... *shows a picture of kusarigama* ...could you please help me make one?" I didn't even get to contribute when next day I found a pair of freshly painted perfect kusari-gamas drying in the cellar.
I can't think of any lightweight kusari-gama tutorial as mine was made from wood.
