I decided not to buy it. Is there a two piece sukumizu out there? If you know a site please tell me. And remember, not one but two! Thanks! ;D

Posting a link or picture would be more helpful.

And could you please edit the title of this thread? I'm sure you didn't intend it to be, but "Jap" is still a racial slur and makes me cringe every time I see/hear it.

Posting a picture of it would be better if you want feedback on the quality. Though anything that advertises velcro and crotch in the same sentence...I'd steer clear of.

Also seconding the motion you rename the title, "Jap" is an offensive term.

"Japanese school swimsuit" without the sukimizu or whatever the word is? Simple enough....

Say "japanese" instead of "jap" ^^;;

You can use "jp" or "JP" if you need to shorten "japanese". It isn't a slur, and it's one of the standard language abbreviations for Japanese (like "cn" for Chinese and "en" for English).

But yeah, if you can fix the title, please do.

The picture doesn't look so bad, but I'm not sure about having velcro in the crotch area. .__. It sounds very uncomfortable and could possibly look very ugly, though it looks okay in the picture. I'm guessing the velcro is in-between the "top" part and the "bottom" part, so if you use it too much it will start to not stick (one thing I hate about velcro), then you will need to find another way to attach the top and bottom in order to wear the swimsuit.

I say just sew the velcro pieces together.... I'd rather do that than risk the front popping open on accident.... or remove the velcro and put in snaps.

Considering it advertises "very thin" material and a velcro to remove the crotch area...what you're thinking about buying was probably not made for swimming or cosplay. Unless you count cosplay in the privacy of your home with another person being the only one seeing you in it.

Looking just at that page, it honestly looks to be more of an Adam & Eve store, if you get my drift. If it's what you want, go for it. But I personally don't think it's worth $40. Either these people don't understand how a swimsuit works (I have never in my life come across a legit one that unfastens at the crotch), or it's a sex clothing shop. Either way, no way is it worth that much money.

I concur with Stormraven. The page title at the top should be enough to tell you what it is really for, "Smooth knit Japanese school girl swimsuit with crotch access". Emphasis on the last two words signals fetish (fun sexy times onry) wear. Just saiyan.

I would shop elsewhere as that is a pretty simple style of swimsuit and could be purchased for much cheaper or if you are willing to give it a try, you could probably make one yourself in the same color. The nice thing about swimwear fabric is that it will stretch to fit so you do not need expert tailoring skills to make this look right.

Google is your friend. These took a few seconds to dig up:

http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/working/item/1238722/
http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/working/item/10000915/
Rakuten has others listed but the above are around $11 USD. Some items can be ordered directly from Rakuten and others would need an agent but even agent fees would likely be cheaper than the swimsuits linked in your first post.

No agents required:
Cosmates (http://www.cosmates.jp/en/shop/product_info/cPath/346_359/products_id/29091/) - $21
http://www.jbox.com/product/NET041 Jbox is $36
EBAY (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Smooth-Knit-Japanese-School-Swimsuit-Style-Costume-KN08-/220738853020?pt=US_CSA_WC_Swimwear&var=&hash=item791441de16) - $43 direct from Japan

How do you know it's a two piece? o.o

Look closely at the bottom; it's essentially a long tank top and a swimsuit bottom.
