I've seen the first two episodes of this series. I really like the style and Robin has a sweet dress!

Anyone else seen any of this show?

I have 1-18 and I've seen 13 of them so far. The wife has seen the rest. I really like the art and the dark theme of the whole thing. The pacing is slow, so people with short attention spans might not enjoy it, but I like it. Oh, and the opening song is really catchy too.

My fiance and I are already working on Witch Hunter Robin costumes for our next con. ;)

Peacecraft, keep us posted on the progress of those costumes, I can't wait to see them ^^

well, the costumes are still in the planning/sketching pieces phase, so it'll be a while. ;)

I saw a couple of episodes at anime club meeting, it was interesting.

There was a Witch Hunter Robin cosplayer at AWA

I like Witch Hunter Robin ^_^ it's very interesting

I've got the first four eps, seen the first two. I'm really into it! The first I heard of it was the end theme, "Half Pain", so I found the Japanese site, seemed cool, then got the series. I'm definitely going to be trying to get more of it. Kinda reminds me of the La Femme Nikita TV series, for some reason . . . the only thing I don't like is the CG backgrounds. Specifically the chairs. CG chairs . . . *shudder* lol. And I have to cosplay Robin, I could totally do her hairstyle, no problem.

never heard of the show, but witch hunter? is it like "kill all the witches?" o.o;
*hides in the closet*

pretty dark and low key. art style a la boogiepop phantom.

Yah I've been watching the episodes I've gotten, I think I also have 1-18, but only seen up to 10 or so. It's a very dark show (lighting I mean) and it's cool. I have to say I just got the OST and the theme song has been in my head all day... I'm belting it out in the car (in bad japanese of course) :)

I would really like to do a costume from that show, but all the male characters are sorta... blah. I think the only real stand out costume wise is Robin. Gotta love that hair. I think in one epsiode she even shows you how she does it in the morning. :)

Here's the official web site to see what the show looks like.

Ayaka: At first, it also reminded me of Le Femme Nikita, probably because of the "Berkoff" like character always sitting in the office on the computer. Hell it even looks like him! :)

Yeah it was episode 2, unless there is a more detailed version later on. Sweet hairstyle.

i've been recording the episodes since i got here. i still have to watch last night's episode that i recorded...19, but i was in a hurry to go to school today XD

11-05-2002, 09:32 PM
He looks so MUCH like Berkoff, I think it's gotta be some kind of homage, lol. XD I wasn't sure at first, but now I'm not buying that it's a coincidence. But I like Amon better than Michael . . . lol. And the female lead isn't playing the "what couture can I wear this week" game, either. (Well, she is a nun.)

11-05-2002, 10:55 PM
I dunno, I don't think the La Femme show went to Japan... maybe it did? Who knows...
Yah Robin isn't trying to look cool, she just is and not knowing about it. :D

I think it's the dark and broody thing that reminds me of Nakita. And the glass room. Ok, so it just seems like the show. I adore it though. I can't wait to do my Robin costume.

11-05-2002, 11:33 PM
doing a Robin costume will be awesome...but since i'm too frickin' lazy, i'll give cheers and take pics of those who do! X3

i'm not one who likes dark series that much...this one just caught my eye for some reason...the animation is quite beautiful too and i like the character designs...

only thing is, since i started watching the show on episode 16, i'm completely lost XD

11-06-2002, 12:17 AM
They aired Millennium there, lol. (For the record, you CANNOT dub . . . aw crud, why do I always forget his name? The guy who played Frank Black.) But it's only surface stuff that's similar to Nikita. And basically it just winds up saying, it's cool and stylish. ^^

Ah . . . I wanna cosplay Robin . . . but no room in the cosplay schedule . . . *sniffle*

11-06-2002, 09:41 AM
Ah! Well, at least I know I'm current then :)

11-16-2002, 05:50 PM
Just saw episode 3 at my anime club. How adorable is Robin when she brings in the donuts for Michael!!!

*is a puddle*

I've heard so much about this anime but I haven't been able to see it yet! :( Could someone give me a spoiler-free plot line? ^___^

11-16-2002, 06:43 PM
Well it revolves around a secret organization that deals in capturing the supernatural. From what I gather (ive only seen 3 episodes) one of the "hunters" was killed and so a replacement is brought in named Robin. She differs from the others cause she is a "craft" user. Like I said, I haven't seen much but that's what I get out of it, I won't spoil any of the episode plots.

I saw 1-4 at Nekocon while hanging out with the Gravitation group during cosplay. It has potential but it does have the dark and dreary look which was a turn-off to me in Boogiepop, so...

At any rate I need to find it soon because a friend's birthday is coming up and she wanted to see it. ^_^;

I've seen all 18 episodes fansubbed to date. Robin is so graceful, I've been searching for someone to cosplay her for some time! Be sure to keep us updated, peacecraft!

For those who haven't seen the series, here's a shot from the opening:

Yay Robin pic!! ^^;

The opening reminds me of the opening for Serial Experiments Lain in a way. Like how the animation is done and whatnot.

I think Witch Hunter Robin is sweet!

Not to sound lke a macho man but:
I do like a little more action in my Anime But for Robin, I'll let it fly.
They spend more time on character development and their reactions to each other than crime solving which is OK but sometimes it's a bit much. It's like "People are being killed... I wonder where Amon is... Hey whats up with you... uh huh.... uh huh... hmmmmm.... Coffee? SURE.... Oh ! youve tracked down the witch? ZAP!" case closed.
Ep 4. "Robin learns an important lesson about strangers and eye care"

good stuff.
