I'm planning to to go A-kon in June. This is the first year I'm
going to have a complete costume. I decided to do something
different and cosplay (crossplay rather since I'm a
gal) Lupin. My friend Jackie, is going as Jigen Daisuke.

I have a really good feeling about this and especially after a nifty
little goody I found on Ebay; it just screams Lupin. The only catch
is that I will have to have it tailored to fit me since it'll be big on me.

Red hacket: back view (http://images.auctionworks.com/hi/58/58067/b7205.jpg)

I also found a fairly nice wig too. I've seen at least two others like
it but they looked crappy when compared to this one.

Whatcha think? Any suggestions?

I'll update the process on my costume soemtime soon.

Hi Hi fellow newbie cosplayer! I, too, am making my first complete costume and it happens to be lupin as well (I am a guy though). That is a nice jacket, but Im not exactly sure if Lupins coat has buttons or that many pockets(nitpicking maybe.) thats just my mentality because this is my first so I wanna make it from scratch and be as accurate as possible.

I've been practicing trying to get my hair the right way, the most difficult part being that kinda over-the-forehead v-quaff thing(gimme a break, i know next to nothing ^^) and it looks too cool, nothing id do everyday though hehe.
That wig isnt too bad, and it may be just me but it seems kinda puffy. With the right manipulating of it i think itd be pretty cool..

I put you on my AIM list, contact me if you wanna chat and help each other along or whatnot. a couple of newbies looking to make their first uber-Lupin ;)

Learning is fun,
Duck

I don't know your measurements, but maybe you could make the jacket a little more tailored to your body.

Lupin's all about tight clothes!! Especially in the second series. (Keep that in mind) Love the coat, remove the gold buttons. Keep up the good work my fellow Lupin cosplayer. Especially Love Lupin women cosplayers (Groowwl!!)

Awesome!

Hee hee thanks all. I'm not tall or lanky like Lupin (short, full-figured with an um...over-sized chest *blush.blush*.

I'll keep your advice in mind. I don't think the costume will be 100% accurate, but as much as it can be with what I have to work with. But as long as I have fun and people think it's a geat costume that'll be all that matters to me. =)

I already have my jacket and tie. The jacket looks great!

The tie I am going to alter into a flat-bottom tie (those things are harder than hell to find). :P

http://scarlet-rhapsody.com/traveling/am2003/6_mike.jpg My little contribution to the Lupin cosplay.

Simply fold the point of the tie back and stich/safety pin to turn regular into flat.

i'm trying to convince my friend to cosplay as Kamon (FLCL) cosplaying as Lupin, talk about an oximoronm. i thought it would be a fresh take on a common cosplay costume

Good luck. I've already got my Jigen and Goemon for my skit at A-kon, but I'm still lacking two people I need. ^^

Here it is...finally! Here's me in my Lupin costume at A-kon 15.

I got a lot of compliments from people about my costume. I suppose it's not bad for my first cosplay. It was fun being Lupin at A-kon, especially getting into character.
