the market place was always one of my favorite things (Besides the cool costumes and forums) about this site. Where is it? Is it taken out or are they still working on fixing it?

To be more specific, it's under the forums tabs in the "Cosplay chat section" it should say "marketplace" on it.

Will the future market place have more sorting options, like by size and country? I've seen so many titles in ads for costumes I would have liked, only to click to get to the full add and realize it won't fit me. If there was a vay to sort by only xs s m l xl (or even s m l) I think it would benefit a lot of people.

Country is more for the fact that sizes and currency vary from country. Also since shipping to other countries will cost a lot more, and it will take longer for the items to go through customs (and many people don't ship out of the counrty anyway) a sorting option so people can look for costumes in their own country would be very helpful.

This would be helpful. That and a system to help weed out deadbeats...

The Market Place is still not working as well as the last one we had. Threads aren't being closed or anything despite the same sellers/commissioners having multiple threads of the exact same thing. People are still posting items that shouldn't be sold, and actually selling them on here...even just closing the thread still allows for them to sell, as their external websites and Coscom name is still available to be seen and communicate with, so I don't understand the purpose at all. Nothing is being done to prevent anything from happening...just like in the old Market Place, if anything, this version is worse. No rules or requirements are being enforced...it really is a mess.

I highly encourage any thread in violation in the Marketplace to be reported. It can be difficult sometimes to know just what people are selling, especially if they don't list it in the subject line of their post. As for the post itself being accessible after closure, I think it's best that the threads be deleted by the mods instead of left there closed. That's what I have done on a few I have seen, anyway.

We don't let users delete threads because that'd be the easiest way for someone to destroy any evidence if they are obviously trying to scam people or spam the forum.

To expand on what Hime no Toki said, once a thread is closed, the mods occasionally go through the forum and hide the threads - they are "deleted" from view but we still have a full record of the thread existing.

It would be nice if new posts on a thread would push that thread back the first page rather than it eventually becoming buried under new threads.

Personally, I'm not in favor of this...as this is how all the spammers continuously bump their threads to remain on the first page. They had this implemented earlier and it was beyond annoying.

Also, I understand not deleting threads, but it would be nice if threads were hidden as soon as they violated things such as selling things that are not allowed to be sold. And hidden once the thread was closed. Also, people buying these items should be penalized, as well as the seller, as both parties are violating the rules.

True, but at the same time, I see many legit sellers to repost new threads because their pages get buried by the spammers, myself included. Or the same few people posting threads requesting either the same set of commissions or one commissions at a time in multiple threads after another. Perhaps there should be a limit to how many you threads you can start and how many times in an x amount of time frame you can bump and all new threads will be hidden or, you just should go back and edit your original thread.

People are still constantly bumping their threads anyway just so it shows up first on the "last post" section. I'd rather have them spam the same thread, then them posting 458927587342857489752 copies of the same thread.

Or the thread can get locked or closed and hidden if all their new posts just say "bump."

We changed that because too many people were doing just that - bumping threads constantly in order to put them back up to the top of the page. Also, threads would jump back to the top just because someone asked a question or replied with an answer. It made the marketplace forum more about which items had the most conversation (or bumping) going on, rather than just listing items people have for sale in the order they were posted.

There is no way to come to a good middle ground with the current forum setup. We will have a better marketplace up soon, but in the meantime this is the way the marketplace is going to have to stay.

It's at least comforting to hear a better Marketplace will be up soon. :) I am about at wits end with the current one, lol. Thanks for this bit of information.

Any answer to my question?

We have a lot of country-specific features in the works so it'll be easy enough to make things country-specific for the marketplace as well. When we are closer to completing it we will open up a thread for discussion about features like this.
