Hi there, does anyone know why there isn't an option on anyones profile to send them a message. Even my own profile doens't have it so someone can send me a message. I have been into my settings to check twice that I have it set up so people can send me questions through messages. But yet it is not there once I go to my main profile page like before.
This was most usful becuase if someone is having toruble making a costume like mine and wants extra help. You can write co much more than filling up the comments section in which sometimes people don't even know you have replied. I left comments for help on someone 's photo recently and 2 weeks later went back to that photo, they had replied in the comments box, but I didn't even know, there was nothing to notify me that they had answered.

Of course people can have it set up so that they are not notified of comments, but at least if you send them a direct private message they are guaranteed to get it, and if they do't want to answer it's there choice.

This is starting to frustrate me, the same as not being able to see your photo views without clicking each photo indivdually. The rest of the new site is fantastic by the way, but these little things should stay.
Thanks from
Tracy

If you copy the person's name you want to PM go into user CP and right under list messages is "Send a new message" Click that and paste the person's name into the Recipients username and write your message. Hope this helps :)

I know in forums you can click on a person's name and get the drop down options still, just tested it. And PM *persons name* is still there. =3 Works since I've used it within the last few days.

This only works for some browsers.

It does not work in Google Chrome.

Yeah, only alternative to PMing someone you don't have a PM to reply to already is to make a new message and copy/paste their username in it.

Kind of works, but the dropdown would be nice to work across all major browsers.

I know chrome isn't as friendly as is was made out to be. Most of the pages I use at work for ordering chemicals and supplies just don't get along with chrome...and my gf(starlightslk) programs stuff for her work (along with BMF and a few other goodies) and just has a hard time with it. Some things work, some just don't.

I gave up on chrome, for now. All the other browsers seem to work well enough with things like the drop down windows. My blackberry though, psh with the ads on this site I can't log in, .... the scrolling feature on coscom by itelf isn't a good idea, on non-maximzed windows, you'd never see your account nor be able to scroll over to even know if you had a pm or not.

I assume, all in good time?

Yeah... to be fair, I plan to switch back to Firefox as soon as I can be arsed to port everything back to it. I switched to Chrome because Firefox was being a memory hog, usually sitting at 400~600 megs in memory and not doing anything with it unless I closed it so it went anew (I blame all the flash ads on the internet).

I thought Chrome would be better, but it's worse, because instead of 1 process that usually caps at 600, I have 7~9 processes for chrome that cap at 700~800. Big whoop? The features are quite limited on it too.

Anyway, this is all loosely-related to the topic at hand --- bottom-line: Chrome really isn't all that cracked up to be.

Am I the only one who sees the lack of a PM option on either the profile or forum an issue? I think it's disturbing that we have to jump through so many hoops to send someone a private message now.

Will this be fixed?
