So I want to start my first cosplay costume. I want to be Nightwing and I really want to do something that seems practical and functional. Not Rubber or spandex. So my idea was to use road armor used for motorcycles and such as a basis for plating and such. So I am curious if anyone has any helpful tips on maybe how to connect them and even cover them. Conventional thinking would be that you would have the plates and maybe cover them in a lightweight leather or such.

No idea for tips, but this idea sounds awesome if you could do it well.

a quick way is to do a repaint option

sort of like some ones darth knight.

I would suggest just sewing/attaching the road armor onto a cheap spandex suit. You can probably find a spandex suit at welovecolors.com. Just to warn you, the costume might be very hot, and so drink lots of water an such (: It's very cool that you're doing Nightwing! He's my favorite character.
