Anyone else working on costumes for this? I have plans worked out for the Tooth Fairy already! :) And my boyfriend is being Jack Frost.

Rise of the Guardians was probably one of the best movies I've ever seen! I DON'T crossplay, EVER, but I WILL cosplay Jack I loved everything about his character and his story. I love how he really grew as the movie went on. If I had the time/energy/skills, I would also cosplay Tooth. She's so adorable and sweet, and her costume would be badass. :)

My group really wants to cosplay this, probably next year in december. We should have everyone but Sandman. We've got our fangirl as Jack, her partner in crime as Pitch, a friend as Tooth, my boyfriend as Bunny (fur suit is the plan), and I'll probably end up doing North (despite my build not being his).

We're giving it until next winter as some of us would die any other time of year from the heat.

I'd love to do Toothiana, but she looks so complicated!

This, has to be one of my newest, favorite movies. I just loved everything about it. <3
I actually went as Jack Frost too see it. I already had a pretty good wig for it, though I need to get a shorter one, since I feel it's a little long. I've also been trying to talk my brother into being Sandman... If he doesn't end up doing that, he says he'll be Pitch for me. xP

Another Jack! I don't think I've ever Ben so excited to cosplay something so simple, but it's really all faking into place. I already have his face shape/body language/hair, and especially eyes. (people always comment on my eyes being really really blue)

And I actually found an awesome wisteria branch that is the luckiest find ever! :D

http://a.yfrog.com/img863/2473/faush.jpg -WIP staff, might enamel it or something, i wanna make it durable and sturdy (and I'm gonna paint some blue/white accents with glitter paint) but I don't want to lose the texture and naturalness of it... Hmmm.

And if I can, might have my litle sis go as (Was her name Pippa? My friend says some guidebook says that's what it was) his sister.

I would really like to try doing a Bunny fur suit. Never tried one. Maybe I will try if I have the time. I can't wait to see all the Jack Frost costumes in 2013!!

Oh gosh, If I had the skills I would LOVE to cosplay Tooth! (Dangit feathers...)

I'd love to do Tooth, Jack and Sandman! Tho, I think I'll start with Jack since he's not as complex! If I could pull off a Bunnymund without having to get into a fur suit, I'd do that too!

I wish I could cosplay Tooth so much, but I'm super allergic to feathers, so that's a dream that will never be. T_T

I just finished my sister's Human!Jack shirt though, and it came out very nice, so that makes me happy.

What are you all thinking about using for the base of the headdress and base of the outfit?
I feel like using feathers for the whole thing would look too bulky and her headdress has me stumped!

Yet another Jack Frost cosplayer here! I'm going to do his human version though since I already have the perfect hair style. Plus, I just like that outfit- I get a vest and a cloak!

So, how is everyone planning to do the staff? I've seen some nice PVC pipe ones, but would prefer to use a real stick. I collected a few that would work for a base, just debating if I want to make the hooked part out of smaller sticks or a different material all together.

I'm almost done with my sister's Human/Newly-awakened Jack shirt. Just need to embroider the collar.

My sister has a nice walking stick as her base for the staff, and I think is planning to use wire form and paper mache to make the hook. I'm not sure how that will go, but given that she's a sculpture major, I'll trust her judgement. XD;

Elycium- you could always use craft foam instead. It wouldn't look as real as feathers, of course, and sealing would make them a bit delicate, but it is a nice alternative and can look really great.

I'd love to make a Pitch cosplay for my boyfriend, since Pitch looks like an animated version of him. It'd be so... simple! (she said, overconfident and oh-so-foolish).

I did love the movie. I can't wait to see it again!

Good luck everyone!

What do you guys think about doing a crossover outfit for the characters?
I found a beautiful Assassins Creed design for Tooth (the artist has yet to upload the others), and I've seen some LotR ones as well.

That... is a brilliant idea. And I know someone who made a pinata costume like that (and it looked amazing), so I have someone to bounce ideas off of too. Thanks!

I'm actually headed out right now to pick up a hoodie or two for a Jack Frost cosplay. Kohls has the perfect style on sale for like... $15 on their website. I think it's the men's Tek Gear one if I remember correctly.

If painting the frost on it turns out well, I might make extras for my artist alley table down at Katsucon.

Wow so many Jack cosplayers <3 I'm awaiting my wig and base hoodie for him in the mail, and the staff is just gonna be a reworking of the top of my Xellos staff. Can't wait to paint the hoodie *squees*

Cosplay: In which you look at a branch and think, "I need this!"

I have a fun idea for a female Sandman. Whether I do it or not...

Figured out my staff. I did end up cutting up a real branch and glueing/ screwing it back together. It still needs sanded and some touchups, but it worked pretty well. (Ignore the horrible photo quality. I'll get better pics later with the costume.)

Nice staff Kasy!

I started on my elf costume. Using a hula hoop for the bottom. Only spent about $25 on it so far since JoAnns had felt on sale. Just need striped socks and a green sleeved shirt.

I never thought of doing an elf cosplay. That will be so cute!

So here's my finished staff: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/Haylerzz/Jackstaff_zps8b492919.jpg

and here's the whole costume in progress: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/Haylerzz/Jackinprogress_zpsbbf4779f.jpg

I made the cloak. The rest of the outfit is thrift store finds that still need altered.

It did die a bit, at least here. Still pretty active on tumblr though, especially with the crossover stuff like HiJack and The Big Four (Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons).

The impending DVD release might bring it back up some. Also, it's coming to be spring/summer and most of the characters lend themselves more to winter months.

Your cosplay came out really nice and I love the second shot. You're lucky to have somewhere nearby that lends itself to photoshoots.

Totally doing Pitch one day.

Just have to figure out how to make that gradient oh-god-the-sleeves-are-disappearing-into-the-skin-on-his-hands kind of look. And how best to fake that super-duper deep V on the front of his robe, so I can get a compression-shirt on without it showing.

I totally missed this thread! Like 4,837 other people at the winter conventions I attended, I cosplayed Jack (because I was neck-deep in a bunch of more complicated projects, and it just sounded so... darn... comfortable). :)

Incidentally, if anyone else is planning on doing a Jack in the future, I just posted a tutorial for my "invisible shoes" that I made so I could look barefoot as Jack: http://andsewingishalfthebattle.com/invisible-shoes

Thank you for this tutorial! ^^ This will be far better than me trying to find sandals I don't hate completely. I'm going to have to put two straps on instead of the toe one as I can't stand anything between my toes but this sounds like a great idea for barefoot "shoes" ^^

I found that tutorial and it looks really neat :D
I'm thinking of making this for my own Jack cosplay :). Thanks for this!

Speaking of Jack, I found an old pair of pants that I put away before and looks good enough to use for Jack. I'm going out this weekend so hopefully I can find something to to use for him and hopefully can get Arda's Hansel in silver for my wig while their sale is still going on.
