Rate it on a scale of 1 to 10 :D Just for amusement hehe. Any extra comments on what could be improved are welcome :D

i think it looks pretty good. maybe putting a reference pic so people could compare might help

Thats gotta be probably the best Kos-Mos I've seen!

It's too late to change this now, but for the fabric choice, I probably would have choosen a shinier fabric. Not like satin or anything, just something with a slight shine.

But overall, excellent work, I think it looks wonderful!

I dunno, I like the fabric, it looks nice and rubberish. Everythings the gold accents looks very nice...only thing I suggest is a more sky blue wig...

Its veeeery, veeeery nice! *-*

Wow, that's excellent. I would rate it, but I'm not familiar with the character.

(edit) *Looks at reference pic* Definitely a 9. Very accurate :) .

Great job! I'd give it an 8.5 at least. I think the fabric choice was just fine - anything shiny like vinyl always looks bad. One thing I might change is the boots - KOS-MOS' have a pointier toe and a narrower heel.

And just out of curiosity, what did you use to make the headgear and hip/upper arm armor?

It's a beautiful, beautiful costume. I'm envious of it. Isn't it a bit hard to sit down in though? Kinda looks like it would be with that piece just below the hips.

Again, it's great. Nice attention to uber-detail.

AHAHAHA O__O the funny thing is.. i COULDNT SIT DOWN XD It sucked so much.. neither could i lean against a wall or turn my neck cause the collar gave me a rash.. my feet also hurt like #$%@ cause the shoes had no padding...

And i made the headgear, side metal 'fins' and back metal orb thingies with spray insulation foam, carved it into shape, then pinned vinyl onto it and spraypainted or painted it with acrylics :3

-fin XD

On a scale of 1-10 I would have to say 8.5-9 The choice of fabrics you used was really good, nothing too shiny or too matte looking. Like what Dewy said, it has a nice texture to it. You paid a LOT of attention to detail, the little metal piece on the garter, the 'zipper pull' etc. The only .. and I wouldn't say problem, would be that the visor is slightly too large. But the visor itself is very well done. Keep up the beautiful work!

Hey! You're the other KOS-MOS at Megacon! My friend (the one as MOMO) wanted a picture of us together, but I wasn't sure how you felt about that... you looked a bit tired! =D

I thought you did a really good job on it. Your spine/neck thing turned out better than mine (Mine is too short... have to fix that), and your fan was a cute touch. I think you did an excellent job.

OK, before I get into "critique" mode, please bear in mind that I think your costume is awesome. I'm just be REALLY picky to help you improve :)

- helmet is way too big for your head. Even the ear-cover pieces come down too low and it looks awkward
- the collar is incorrect. depending on different reference pics, it does vary in design. I like your take on it, but i'm being anal :p
- i agree with Dia - the boot shape is a bit off. not a big deal though

I DO like the spine details - you're the only person I've seen so far who's done them.
And I'm really happy to see that you did the stitch lines on her front and her skirt :)

I'm not sure I agree with the color choice for the abs though :) The ref pics look more like a silvery- light blue.

The only thing I can see 'wrong' is the color of the wig. Its very teal when it seems it should be very light blue. Also, the ends of the cut portions of the hair are rather blunt. They could at least use a little tapering perhaps in the form of trimming some of the hairs in a layering effect on the cut portions.

Having experience trying to find a light blue, long wig without spending an arm and a leg, I think you did fine. =) Maybe later (when money permits), splurge on a custom wig.

Lovely!!! Yeah!

#1 The wig was ordered for me from FiFi Mahoney's Wigs.. i DO NOT RECCOMMEND THEM! Their "Light Blue" wigs are actually Turquiose! EVIL! And I was having problems brushing it.. I didnt have the right kind of brushes...

#2 The collar is exact to a in game close up of it and not the early stages of the game (for example the picture of shion walking up from behind kos-mos to say good morning)

#3 I was SO miserable in that costume that I wasn't thinking clearly : /.. I'm sorry.. If you're going to AFO5 in your xenosaga group i'd love to get a group picture :3 And the fan was made last minute cause i heard it was gonna be hot out that day.

#4 The boots stay O_O.. the end.. they were a pain in the ass and they're affized to the stockings.

#5 I didnt have time to change the blue abs before the con so i left them but next time I wear it I will have them latched so they will open and reveal blue holographis fabric/plastic and spray paint the centers of the ab pieces to make them look shiny.

#6.. I dunno.. :D </reply>

The wig color doesn't bother me, simply because as far as I know, commercial wigs just don't come in the pale blue that KOS-MOS' reference picture calls for. That turquoise-light blue is just the closest you can get unless you want to try dyeing it yourself - I think this is why KaraokeKate created her own wig dye in "powder blue," in fact.

As far as the blue abs go, again, I don't have a problem with those either, because depending on the reference you look at, they are either blue or silver. Overall I think the costume is really well done. :) The only thing I'd offer as a teeny-weeny flaw is the fact that the upper portion of the boots is a bit transparent when compared to the bottom, so another layer of the white fabric may have helped, but that really is very minor compared with how good the costume looks... Good job. :)

Edited to add: about Fifi-Mahony's, by the way - I have had some very good experiences with them, as well as one bad one. I think the key with them is research, and communication; the last time, I exhanged multiple emails, images, and phone calls, but it was worth it, because I ended up with one of the most gorgeous wigs ever. As always, of course, one's mileage may vary... ^^;;
