I'm going to be doing a kitty girl costume soon, and I have no idea how to make big cat paws that characters like Felicia from Darkstalkers wear.. Anyone want to give tips?

:confused:

I've never made big ones myself (only small ghetto ones! ^_^) but I think it'd work well if you bought long gloves, and then sewed fur around them, with some stuffing in between the 2 fabric layers. This way you could still sorta move your hands ^_^

As far as the feet.. I guess try the same thing, but with boots? ^_^;

The secret to my Puchiko feet (http://kse3.dyndns.org:1129//ah/akon2002/images/DSC00440.jpg) is plastic canvas. Shhh. ^_^

I took a sheet of plastic cross-stitch canvasing (it's really inexpensive, a dollar will buy a whole stack of them) and cut out the paw shape. That made the bottom of the boot.

Then I sewed a pair of slippers to the canvas on the inside. The front of the paw was formed using more plastic canvas, which was sewn to the base canvas. I stitched a layer of fabric to cover the bottom, then I stitched the upper "sock" part over the entire thing. We filled it out with a bit of stuffing, and I think it turned out quite cute, not to mention that I could run around in them all day and not have any problems (barring getting stepped on every now and then). They're very light-weight.

I'm not sure how well it would adapt to a REAL paw, as the DiGi Charat styles are really just overgrown slouchy-socks. But I hope that helps a bit... good luck!

I have a blind guess but you could make them like how people make the feline paws for the mascot style suits. Trace around your hand how you'd want the paw to be shaped and then make a base glove or buy and cut the faux-fur to the shape you want it, stuff it with stuffing and sew it to the base glove? ^_^;;;

The feet.. get some comfy sneakers and make the stuffed paw arround it and if there is some very very durable material out there you could use for the bottom so it doesn't look like the sole of a sneaker when your walking. ^_~

I hope that helps somehow..

... o.o Wow, bumping up a two year old thread. XD And what's sad is, even after two years, I still never did this costume... so the advice is still valid. Thanks. :P
