Sweet costume! Love the hoop-shirt thing going on- those are a pain to work with, I know, we had to make costumes similar like that for a play once- did you make your own hoop skirt or just put one underneath? I sure hope you didn't have to make one- cause they are NO FUN at all!

Nice costuming!

Hmm.... the top is great, nice use of details, excellent fit, the satin really works with it... but I think the hem of the lower dress is a little bit crooked, but I can't tell if that's true or not because it might just be the way you're standing, and I understand the physics of how hoop skirts work...

It seemed a little bit strange to me to couple the plain blue cotton skirt with the really detailed, smooth satin of the upper skirt. I realize this is how the character probably looks, but it just seemed a bit of a jarring choice of fabric combinations.

In short, I wouldn't change anything about the white top, but I might want to consider doing something a bit more with the blue underskirt.

You didn't post a reference pic, and there are different versions, so I'm going to compare to the pictures I have seen the most of. This might seem somewhat attentive; it's because this dress was also on my to do list (as I hadn't seen anyone do it yet, either!). I looked at a lot of pics, and have ref. images on a different computer (that I don't have access to right now).

The skirt, I agree, should be a different material. Taffeta? Use the backside of satin? Crepe-backed satin? Silk? Something other than cotton.

The top does fit you very nicely. I can't see the back of it, so I have no idea if you have the slits and shape correctly there; I will assume so.

The sleeve things need to be puffier. More round-like. And since I can't tell with your sleeves at the wrists, I will also assume that you have the small weird diamond shape there, too (only in some images, so I guess it's pick and choose). The shape of the "tails" on the white top look to be bit off, as it falls to the back. Only having a front image of you, though, I can't tell.

I can see the bones in the hoop-skirt, so maybe a petticoat with more layers? I also think the blue skirt should be longer, just touching the floor. Then you don't have to worry about the hem looking crooked, because it will be hitting the ground. In some images, there is a series of pleats in the front of the skirt, but I can't find those images again - it was on figurines of Tsukihime. The skirt is strange, becasue it should be longer in the back, and not sticking out in the front in a circle... not sure how one would do that; your idea works well. I also think the skirt should be fuller - hers always ripples and has ridges, even when it's very "fluffed" out. If you have fabric left, perhaps you could add a panel or two.

Minor thing - your hair is parted on the wrong side.

I have attached some images that I found for you, so you know what I mean. It looks great though, good work! I love Tsukihime...

Wow, I think that it looks beautiful, I love the material that the costume is made out of. Good job ^_^ You look very pretty in it ^_^.

Yep, I agree- very beautiful, but to be more accurate you need to redo the tops of the sleeves to be very round. Might want to use interfacing to make the satin stiffer! Otherwise- good job!

I don't know how the original art looks like, but judging by looking at it. the hoop is showing through the fabric. It sort of detracts from the costume. Maybe if you cinch in the waist it will do the hoop more justice.
