From Anime Nation news:

>Anime Coming to TechTV

>Today's episode of the TechTV network program The Screen Savers briefly announced that the basic cable network will begin broadcasting anime daily starting December 30th. No additional information is available at this time.

OMG! Isn't this cool? Well..isn't for people who don't have digital cable. Anyway...I am so excite!!!!!!!!!

So... there won't be any side-effects for me then...

What is TechTV? I have digital cable but I've never seen that channel before... then again, I never watch much on TV except for Alias... that show rocks!

11-26-2002, 09:49 PM
Tech TV is also on Direct TV... lucky me. I didn't know this though I'll have to check it out. Free anime yeah!

11-26-2002, 10:00 PM
Whoo. More anime for me. What can we expect from their screenings?

11-27-2002, 10:36 AM
I dunno but I hope something good. ^__^ I guess we have to wait and see. ^__^

11-27-2002, 11:16 AM
Ummm yeah...what is TechTV? @_@ I feel like I should check it out, but I don't know what it is. There's no good source of anime for me besides buying the expensive things or borrowing the expensive things from friends XD
...Note: I said "good" (to my standards at least). I don't really like Cartoon Network's showing of English dubbed material @_@ Especially after seeing it in Japanese. I grow attached to the cutesy voices of Japanese dubbing compared to the 14-year-old characters with voice actors that sound like they're 40 >_<

WOOHOO we have TechTV! ^____^ Happyyyyyy! Hopefully it won't be crap boring anime like "Card Captors".. *shudder*

11-28-2002, 02:46 AM

I don't know if TechTV is on basic cable; I know we get it through directTV. ^^

11-28-2002, 08:43 PM
TechTV's only available on DirectTV unless you order it on regular cable (I think).

11-28-2002, 10:18 PM
i love Tech TV thats all i watch , that and Much Music (becuase they acually play stuff besides rap) but i only watch screen savers, thunderbirds scares me.

11-28-2002, 10:31 PM

For a rundown on tech tv go to their site: www.techtv.com . I always have the tv turned to that channel when I'm at home.

The typical shows on techtv are:

Call for help - a call in help computer help show
The Screensavers - A bit of a news, how to and general info show
Eyedrops - a show where they show fans CG movies and shorts many in amazing quality with a couple now and than on par with Toy Story.
Fresh Gear - the latest gadgets and comparisons on stuff like scanners, printers, mp3 players and digial cameras
Tomarrow's World - A show about the tech of tomarrow
Extended Play - a show about the latest game but is not up to date on the news.

Leo Laporte is my hero. I soooooooo want to chat with him one on one. I'm not fond of Adam from Extended Play. Chris Pirrillo from Call for Help is just like me in may ways when it comes to tech stuff.

I hope they show some good anime on there.

I was watching Fresh Gear on TechTV and it ran a commercial for "Anime Unleashed" and ran several clips of various anime. The only one I really recognized was Lain.

It just said "Coming Soon" no other additional yet.

I just caught a new commercial for Anime Unleashed on TechTV.

It looks like they will be showing "Crest of the Stars" and the commercial shows some scenes and they are dubbed.

It will start Dec 30th.
