View Full Version : freaky armor

I'm doing Genjyo Sanzo from Saiyuki (mostly for the sake of the karaoke contest at AX, lol). I've already done the armor pieces in model magic (a bar at the top, and 56 dangly bits, all 2.25 inches long OO;;;), they're not painted yet. But it struck me, I have no way to put the pieces together! I was initially thinking I'd press shank buttons into the backs before they dried, glue them, and then thread wire through the holes; then they'll be free-swinging. But I forgot about the attaching problem until after the pieces were made. (D'OH!) Does anyone have suggestions for how to take all the dangly bits and make this armor? I really want to keep them free-swinging, as opposed to the armor being stiff, for accuracy, appearance, and my comfort. Otherwise I'd just glue them to some cardboard pieces.

Your help in rectifying the situation created by my forgetfulness would be much appreciated. ^^ On the plus side, I got some really snazzy gold paint for it . . .
