I'm pretty emotional while watching my favorite shows, and I've cried quite a few times. So there are plenty of shows that have gotten me totally sobbing, but I think I cry the most while watching Cardcaptor Sakura. I cry a lot when I watch that mostly because it's just so darn cute ^_^ then I'll cry when Sakura is sad, I'll cry during the episode with the Illusion card, I'll cry for Yue... ah... you get the picture

A close second would be Ayashi no Ceres... now that show is depressing. I don't want to say why though, because it'll spoil it in case someone hasn't seen it... and Fushigi Yugi is sad too, like when Suboshi kills Tamahome's family and when people die. I cry too much.

Sooo... what shows get you guys to cry? If I haven't seen the shows that make other people cry I'll have to try them out.

Noir
The End of Evangelion
Boogiepop Phantom
Grave of the Fireflies

Several moments in other anime, but those three stand out in my mind.

Well, I cried at the end of Blue Seed like twice.
But I mostly cried my heart out during Kenshin's Ending OAV (I forgot what it was called). I cried like 5 times!!!
....Just thinking about it....

At times, Noir
The squirrel episode and end of Saber Marionette J ...and other times actually ;_; (I still do, every time I watch them :blubber: )
An episode of Bubblegum Crisis (80s)...as well as one from 2040 (Bill episode @_@)

I haven't really cried during anime but the ones that were really close to making me cry were the last few episodes of Saber Marionette J, and the episode in Battle Athletes Victory where Ichino and Akari... and the race... yeah, I don't want to spoil it.

METROPOLIS
AKIRA

DragonBall Z (the scene when Gohan goes SSJ2 for the first time)

Ayashi no Ceres. Wow. As far as shows I enjoyed that one really knew how to be heart-wrenching. I love this show, it's probably my second favorite and I cosplayed from it last year but when I was first watching it I had just finished one episode that left me devastated and then found out I was missing the next one. I was in a depressed funk for a few days, to say the least. ^_^;

Second most would be Groove Adventure Rave. Mostly a fun, wacked-out, adventure-type shounen series, it has some plot twists that are insane.

As far as shows I didn't really enjoy... Seisouhen.

There are at least a few shows that have been emotional in a good way, like episode 26 of Angelic Layer is just awesome. XD Flame of Recca manga was like that too at a lot of points although it had both highs and lows. And then there are games, but that should be a whole different thread. ;)

[ Then again, I cried at Sailormoon *hides head in shame*]

I do too! ^^ The movies really got to me, but every time a series ended, I'd cry. The SM manga made me tear up a few times as well.

I've heard Fruits Basket gets really sad, but the first few episodes are verrrry funny. But I got misty-eyed when she talked about her mom. ;_;

The dub of DBZ.....has to be one of the most awful dubs ever...damn you funimation...

Orphen game for PS2....the show was decent but the game based on it did no justice....

Gundam 0083....people probably like it....but I could not stand it...><

Agreed. Although, it didn't have me bawling more or so than just shedding a tear or two. My list?

-End of Eva
-Now and Then, Here and There - VERY SAD. Heart-wrenching..
-Fruits Basket - Don't ask.
-Inu-Yasha - Don't ask.

As for Fruits Basket and Inu-Yasha, the family thing and unreturned love always makes me cry.. I don't know why. But then, right after my eyes water up I burst out laughing at what happens next so it's no big deal. ^^

Nothing Evangelion ever got my tears flowing.. I felt sorry for what all of the characters had to go through.. and it was kinda shocking what happened during EoE (when I first watched it). But it all happened so fast that It just didn't play out to be emotionaly real to me. I did not shed one bloody tear :)

Evangelion. About the last half of the series gets pretty sad and then some in Death and Rebirth. End of Evangelion really gets me. I try not to cry when watching anything, but sometimes you just can't help it!

I have been crying while watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer lately too.

Sorry if you take this as an insult, as that's not how I intend it, but... Anyone who thinks the last few episodes of Evangelion ruined the series did not understand the series to begin with.

Back on topic, I cried during the last episode of Evangelion, but it was happy crying. End of Evangelion made me cry though. Grave of the Fireflies, obviously.. Let's see, what else.. Whoops, I'm late for a class, I'll finish this post later.

Sailormoon Stars
Nurse Angel Ririka
Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne

Noriko dies in FY.....I was sad but also really mad....he was so my fave....

The part in sailor moon I think its the 3rd season? maybe second.... Where Usagi is standing outside Mamochans door asking him why he wont love her and bawling and hes on the other side of the door listening and crying.....gah teary eyed just thinking about it......

Tenchi Universe episode #23 : No Need for Ryoko.......gets me every damn time....

Esaflowne when Folken dies....he was so gorgeous....

Inuyasha episode 47 or 48...that scene where he declares love for Kykio and they hug by the tree and then Kagome sees it and he can finally look her in the eye....I just got finished watching it and I cried and yelled at my computer....I actually had to pause it and go run around in circles to stop being all emotional...now my roomates KNOW im crazy...Oh and for the record I HATE KYKIO!

Fushigi Yuugi OAVs when Hotohori is dead and is trying to comunicate with his family....cried start to finish....I think that is the first time I have truly bawled my eyes out over an anime....

Fushigi Yugi takes the cake for me. Nuriko had me sniffling and I bawled when Hotohori cried. He looked so noble and beautiful and he freakin' died! Bah! That's such an injustice. And the OVA eppy with Hotohori and his family, I couldn't stop crying, that was just so horribly sad.

Vampire Princess Miyu didn't make my cry, but I did get teary when the whole thing about how Reiha hates Miyu so much was revealed. I felt really sorry for her, Reiha's a great character.

Ayashi Ceres only made me cry when Aki and Chidori died. *sighs* Aki didn't deserve to die..neither did Chidori.

I think if they ever animated it well, I would have to buy about three boxes of tissues per DVD or something x__x;;

Although, there was one point in .hack//SIGN that had me crying (episode 24, I think it was.. 24 or 25) with Maha..

And then the end of Final Fantasy: Unlimited

But nothing has made me cry so much as Suikoden did x_x;

Hahaha, I cried so much in Fushigi Yuugi ToT I'm glad to hear that other people get teared up during Kiki's Delivery Service though... ;-; When the old ladies make her the cake, I always get so choked up!!! ToT lol~

Also, no one's mentioned it, but ONE PIECE!!!!! I got really close to crying on Sanji's story, and on Nami's backstory will Belmel (or however you'd spell it in English ^_^). Oh yeah, and on Luffy's backstory with Shanks too ~o~ One Piece is just so good *o*

Definitely Trigun... though it wasn't the end that got me weeping, rather three episodes before it. And Cowboy Bebop, for the Waltz for Venus episode. And strangely enough, the last episodes of Slayers Next. Poor Lina. And I simply can't handle seeing Zelgadis take a flying dirt nap. *shudder* And... and... The episode in Sailor Moon where Uranus and Neptune... ya know.. have the 'dying' thing.

Okay, so at the time I was a Kagi x Misato person. My fav. Evangelion character is Misato, and she's the first anime character I identified with.

The moment she listens to the answering machine. That really got to me. Won't spoil it for you, but when she realizes it all and breaks down, tears started rolling my cheeks...

;___; Baka Neko has a list of series that get me every time... Especially Shamanic Princess, with Graham. It wasn't his fault! He was so cute... Ayashi no Ceres makes me cry a lot... I can't even name every part in there that's sad because that whole series gets really depressing at times. Reading everyone's responses in this thread makes me remember when I saw those parts too... and cried!

There's some manga that can make me cry too, but rarely because some things are more sad when they're actually acted out rather than read. The Sailormoon manga was a lot more sad than the anime, in my opinion. But the end of the Doom Tree saga in Sailormoon was pretty sad and that wasn't in the manga so maybe they're equal in how sad they are ^^

I've never actually cried over anime, but I've been pretty damn close to doing so:

End of Eva - When they show Shinji as a kid building a sand pyrmaid, everyone leaves and no one comes to get him. So he continues on building and then he destroys it...... and begins to
build it again. There was just something about that scene that really hit me hard. The saddest scene I've ever seen in ALL film, not just anime :(

Berserk - Thrice. Spoilers, beware.

#1) The part where Caska tries to commit suicide and Gatsu saves her and then they finally meet ends with eachother and fall in love.

#2) When Gatsu finds Griffith in his tortured state and you see Gatsu cry for the first time in the entire series.

#3) The entire last two episides were pretty sick and heart-wrenching. The God Hand summoning, Griffith giving up his comrades for his ambitions, slaughtering The Band Of The Hawks (Judeau's death was the saddest :( ), Gatsu hacking off his own arm with a broken dagger so he can stop Caska from being raped, and Caska being raped by Femto and Gatsu being forced to watch it.

Ok ok SPOILER SPOILER SPOILERS XD

Grave of the Fireflies, thats an obvious for anyone
Rurouni Kenshin OAVs, poor Tomoe...
Vandread, because I want to cry with Dita cuz the poor girl is so confused what to do and doesnt know how to react to love, and Miss Gascogne, and and that kid, Barts little friend ;-;! She didnt get to finish making her doll!!
Ayashi No Ceres, just...gah...everything ;-;
Fushigi Yuugi when Nuriko dies
End of Cowboy Bebop NOOOO Spike you're too cool to die ;-;
GTO-I didnt cry but got very ticked on what the kids were doing to poor Tomo chan, she may be an idiot but shes atleast nice and NO one deserves to be treated that way
Chobits- I got a wrenching feeling when the pastry chef talked about his past wife and her memory loss :/
Jin Roh-Poor girl
Metropolis- When that trash thingy died I was like "NOOOO"
Bakuretsu Hunters-When Tira Misu dies
Orphen-When Childman dies and how they cant truly be together...
Escaflowne-when Eriya and Naria die and when Folke dies and when Hitomi has to go back and stuff...stay with Van ;-;
and I think thats about it.......so far

The only live action movies Ive cried at were Rainman (the brothers should have stayed together damnit) and About Shmidt, cuz I feel so much like him sometimes and just at the end when he finds out hes actually worth something, I cried ;-;

Finally, someone else besides me that was saddened by the sand pyramid scene in EOE!

Oh, almost forgot: SPOILERS GALORE!

Okay, here are scenes that made me at least sad, if not cry(though sometimes I cried out of happiness:

Trigun Maximum: Wolfwood's death. Really got to me, much more than in the anime version.

Sailor Moon: When all the Senshi die fighting Beryl's youmas in episode 45.

Nausicaa: The ending. If you've seen it, you know what I'm talking about.

Barefoot Gen: When Gen's baby sister dies near the end :waaaah:

Ranma 1/2: Ranma tricking Shampoo into thinking he's really a she, which causes a heart-broken Shampoo to leave Japan. I don't like it when Shampoo cries!

Inuyasha: Episode 30. Poor Sango!

Dragonball Z: When Goku uses the Genki Dama to defeat Buu(happy moment that made me cry). Probably my favorite DBZ moment(aside from Mirai no Trunks' debut, of course :bigtu: ) But a pox on the dub for ruining that beautiful scene!

Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters: When Kaiba lost his duel with Noa in order to save Mokuba. And then when Kaiba tried to hug Mokuba, Noa turned him to stone! I HATE YOU NOA, I HATE YOU! And also when Kisara died!

However, there's one series that really gets to me when it comes to making me cry. I swear, it makes me bawl like a baby almost every episode! It's name? Yu Yu Hakusho! Here are all the moments I can of that made me tear up....

-When Rando breaks every bone in Kuwabara's body, and before "dying" says that he can't lose because he still has to face Yusuke
-When Yusuke is being tortured by Suzaku, and he thinks that those zombie-teacher guys killed Keiko and Botan
-Yusuke nearly sacrificing himself to kill Suzaku
-When Kurama almost died during the Quarter Final round of the Dark Tournament(his fight with Touya)
-When Yusuke is dying from absorbing Genkai's energy and Puu tries to bring him water but stumbles, and then Yusuke starts crying and mumbles about even failing his "other" self.
-Genkai's death
-When Yusuke shoots the huge rei gun in the sky as a message for Genkai
-When Kuwabara learns of Genkai's death and then Toguro Ani starts mocking him because of it.
-After Toguro Ototo "kills" Kuwabara, and Yusuke starts blaming himself for not unlocking his true energy sooner.
-Toguro Ototo's past and his goodbye to Genkai
-Amanoma's death.
-When Sensui kills Yusuke, not just his actual death, but the build up with Kuwabara begging Yusuke not to let Sensui kill him and his scream when he confirms that Yusuke is dead :waaaah: (if you don't even shed a tear for this episode you are an unfeeling inhuman monster with no heart or soul!)
-Kuwabara, Youko Kurama, and Hiei trying to avenge Yusuke's death.
-Sensui's death
-Hiei's past

On another note, I don't think anyone's mentioned Fullmetal Alchemist yet. On most other forums I've been on it's usually been mentioned in "sad" topics like these by now.

Uh...spoilers! But I don't care about spoilers. In fact, I adore them, but to those who can't. Watch out.

I cannot believe no one mentioned Voice of a Distant Star.

I don't think Evangelion was anything to cry about as I thought it was all very uplifting and or just too melodramatic.

If anything Sailormoon and Fushigi Yuugi just bored me to tears. When someone died in either of those, I literally cheered since both are so...argh, I don't even know any words (and I speak 2 and a half languages!) to describe what a waste of time these two manga/anime are. Okay, the part where the two main couples broke up (I can't remember which movie/series) was what surprised me. But I cheered for Mamoru, at least it got Usagi to grow up a bit. It still didn't make me find her any less irritating.

I gotta admit though that part about Tomahome's family had me in shock, then it only made me mad at the perpetrator, not weepy. I was doing a war dance when those idiotic twins died. (YES!) And when Nuriko died it pissed me off since he was the only character I vaguely even liked from FY.

I've been called a cold, aloof person, but those who said that have never seen me with:

Wonderful Days,
Voice of a Distant Star,
Jin-ROH: The Wolf Brigade,
Grave of the Fireflies,

Holy crap, I actually went out and got my life jacket I was crying so hard and so much.

Haruka and Michiru ... you can't help but cry when you see one sacrifice themself for the other.
Oh, yeah, I forgot they were in that series. I think I purposefully made myself forget since I actually love them very much. I can't believe that such cool characters would be in such an anime. Other than that, I write fanfics about killing all of the main cast that's how much I hate them. XD (Issues? Me? Naaah.)

I started screaming at the tv, instead of crying when they died though. Then again, virtually everyone came back from the dead so I wasn't all that worried that they'd stay dead. I do very much like what Sailor Cosmo did too, and her character in general. She was an idiot, but I can at least understand and sympathize with her idiocy. It was very touching to find out why she was there at all, if a bit of an unbelievable paradox what with her existing and Usagi as well.

The main cast as teenagers were not of any personality type that I can understand, so I felt nothing for them or their deaths except to cheer boisteriously when it happened. Same thing for most of Fushigi Yuugi. Good riddence! But jeez, Nakago...and Nuriko! @_@ And screw it, I didn't even know Hotohori was married. His poor wife and kid.

Hehe, I finally admit that I love a few Sailormoon characters. I think my cousins will drop from a heart attack when they read this.

Kanon made me cry, First Shiori's news, then Poor Makoto i cried for about an hour and then i cried on the last episode before Nayuki stopped him.

I Also cried on Video girl AI, both on the vcrs timer being stopped and on the staircase.

AI Yori Aoshi made me cry when the guy told the girl about his past and then she left...

One piece during Zoro's backstory, poor ruina... and if your a fan of One Piece and you haven't seen Setaginny's the swordsman and the navigator... you are a bad person.

I almost cried when chii erased, I was about to but then she came back.

I noticed that most of the posts in here are from women...

I didn't cry (we, men, have firewalls against these things) but was greatly touched at the end when Lucy confesses her love and apologizes for killing that guy's family in a bloody frenzy (which traumatizes the dude for years) a decade ago.

That is the kinda scene that would make many guys openly whisper "wow" in disbelief.

for me i would have to say detective conan because whenever ran gets a call from shinichi she will cry. And i always cry when i see her cry which is alot.
I also cry durring CardCaptor Sakura. Whenever sakura is sad im sad. Also in Nanaka 6-17 i cried so much during that one. ( not as mutch as detective conan though. Nothing could be sadder than that. )
FullMoon Wo Sagashite is another major one. I will always cry durring that one. Especially in the end i cried for a really long time.
Angelic layer is another one too. Whenever misaki would be sad i would be sad.
Thats all i can think of right now. There are alot more though sadily.

WWAAAAHH, HHAAA, HHAAAWWW!!! :bigcry: *choke, choke, scream*

I've seen only uh...three or four series...and a movie...

1. InuYasha (the one episode where Rin is singing about Sesshomaru, and the one before that where Sesshomaru gets wounded [MORTALLY!!] and then saves Rin later because she saved him, so SWEEEEEEET!!!)

2. Wolf's Rain (the prologue to the first episode [my signature!] part. Even when I first saw it and didn't know what to expect other than the names! But epsecially the two episodes where Toboe is dying/dead at the end of the series. And the parts that emphasize Quent and Blue's relationship. e.g.
Quent: Pops....have you always called me that?
Blue: I don't know what else to call you. You've always seemed like a father to me anyway... )

3. Trigun's too funny, but I have to list it because of a small part in the manga where he's talking to Rem Seibrem in a dream. Then of course that stupid part where he starts crying like a baby when that one kid he hangs out with sings Rem's favorite song.

4. Cowboy BeBop: The Movie (the part where Vincent shoots Spike in the chest)

That's all for now! Although, I am going to get myself into Saiyuki and Imadoki, and appearantly some of the posters here said there was some tear jerking moments in both of those. I like that kind of thing! I wish I could find more! :)

The end of Cowboy Bebop had me sobbing... and Saiyuki a couple of times. Like when they were showing all of the character's backstories. Oh! I almost forgot. When Zoro was defeated by Mihawk and he says that "he'll never lose again" and then he starts crying... that got me crying. I can't stand to see men cry like that :blubber: (Don't say a word, I'm sensitive ;_; )

Sailormoon made me cry a few times even though I knew everything that was going to happen (read episode summaries and such before I got the Japanese series -_-) Luna crying in the S movie because she couldn't take care of Kakeru got to me, and when Neptune and Uranus died in SailorStars...omg...it's a good thing no one was home because you would have thought someone was stabbing me, I cried so hard. Actually, I think I didn't stop crying during the last 8 entire episodes of Sailormoon. Once Usagi lost her star seed, I lost it.

The only other anime that's made me bawl out loud is the ending of Tiny Snow Fairy Sugar.

Yu-Gi-Oh has made me cry multiple times, both in sadness and awesomeness (the Japanese version, of course. The dub just makes me laugh)

Naruto has probably made me cry the most of any anime, again because of sad parts and awesome parts. I'm not going to give spoilers, but a few days ago when I finally watched episode 124, the last 30 seconds had me so deeply in shock that I hardly even noticed the tears running down my face and dripping onto the floor.

Whoa... so few people hae mentioned Naruto. NO LOVE XD BTW, spoilers throughout!

Haku's scenes literally shorted out my first keyboard, I cried so hard... *is seriously starting to cry just thinking about poor Haku-kun*
And when Kiba and Akamaru are fighting the freaky sound ninja (the two guys with one body) and I seriously thought Kiba was going to die ;.;

A bunch of scenes in Cowboy Bebop... For goodness sake, the ED episode (Where she leaves the Bebop with Ein) made me cry...

Both Wolfwood and Legato's deaths made me cry SO hard... *huggles Legato*

NO ONE mentioned Candidate for Goddess. Both in the anime and manga, I bawled my eyes out for Ernest. He had Gareas, the one he loved, shoot him. Gah... I can't even stand thinking about it... else I'll need a new keyboard T.T

Plenty of parts in Fullmetal Alchemist made me cry... OMG episode 24/25 (I can't remember which one exactly... but if you've seen it you know what I'm talking about...)
And when Nina got transmuted to Alexander... I cried so hard... And then at the end of the credits it had a picture of Nina and Alexander... I started crying AGAIN.

Parts of D.N.Angel made me cry. Namely the end, with the Ice and Snow/Ice and Dark episodes. The part where Freedert "catches" Elliot and is skewered with his sword.
The very ending is also really sad... Dark dissappears T.T

Then finally, Fruits Basket... Momiji made me sad. Very very sad!!! ;.;

Of course there was that MurakiXHisoka thing in Yami no Matsuei, but that was more of a "GET OFF OF HIM YOU &#@%$!!!" type of crying. XD

I don't really cry but I get choked up a lot, maybe a tear or two will roll down my face...

During "Grave of the Fireflies" I got really teary-eyed cause, come on, it's so depressing!
There's several parts in "Mars" that I got choked up, something bad would happen or whatever.
"Marmalade Boy" gets to me too, especially during all the suspenseful heart wrenching parts between Yuu and Mika (her name's Mika, right? Or is it Miki? O_o I haven't read it in over a year!)
When I watched "Cyborg 009" I got choked up now and then, it's really dramatic and sad. T_T
A lot of the "X" series makes me sad too, since pretty much everyone dies...
And don't get me started on "Fushigi Yuugi"!!! >.< Tamahome and Miaka on and off, it drove me crazy!!! And why did Nuriko have to die?! T_T *bauls*
"Peach Girl" is evil, what Momo went through! And poor Kiley...I love you, Kiley! T.T WAAAAH!!!! *glomps all her mangas and cries uncontrollably*

I'm horribly emotional when it comes to everything just about, not just anime; books, live action...I openly wept for a good half an hour after finishing the last Harry Potter book. As far as anime though, the end of Wolf's Rain really got me going. If not for a painfully hillarious interlude of bad hk subtitling, I probably wold have gone to bed crying.

Wolfs Rain is depressing, no matter how you look at it. The whole series is just made me want to kill myself out of depression.

Beserk The end when all the Hawks die. That just made me go, but but but..no thats not right...but....

Grave of the Fire Flies It goes from bad to worse.

Nightwalker As a vampire fan and VTM player there is no real long term companions. The episode where everything turns on the midnight detective is just sad.

Gundam Wing Endless Waltz When the gundams destroy themselves.

X Killing your best friend? How crappy is that?

Transformers: The Movie The death of Optimus Prime was the saddest moment in my whole life at 8. I cried for a week.

There are prolly more, but thats all i can think of....

Oh my gosh, and that whole episode in "Gundam Wing" where Trowa "dies" in outer space?! I was like "TROWA, NOOOO!!! T~T" *clawing at TV screen* "I'll save you!! Hold on!!! Heero, you big meanie, waaaaaaahhh..." I couldn't look at Quatre, he made me want to cry even more!

I cried when i watched the chobits anime.... And when i read Mars 1-15 ( romance manga) Its so cute..... I really only collect shoujo manga... XD, i cant help myslef! all these couples are soooooooo cute!

But my DVD is on its way! :blubber: ) I also cried in Mellinium actress on that last line "Besides.. It's the chasing after him I really love" after she dies. *SOB* I even cry at viedo games! Fruits Basket. That was the first time an anime has made me cry, I bawled my eyes out on the episode where they explain Momiji's relationship with his mother.

I cry every time I watch "On your mark" by Miyao Hayasaki.

End of most Hayazaki films. I'm a sucker for a happy ending.

Wolf's rain, man I was crying on a nightly basis during the last six eps. I cried the longest when they killed Cher. She got back with her husband and life was going to be good but they pulled the rug from under me.

Fushugi Yuugi, Tamahome's resurection.
Metropolis, Tima's death. I am who?
Ramna music video, no idea but it's one the Ova tape 5. Faster Kasumi, Kill kill. It's the second one where a girl is waiting in the rain for the boy who never came home. It seemed like it was Nabiki and I just felt so bad for her.
Transformers, not anime but I cried for Optimus Prime's death in TF:the movie.

Fruits Basket is the only series to date to make me cry. And why? It was on the first episode that Kisa appared in, and also my first time seeing the character. I had previously taken one of those silly "Which character are you?" tests and gotten her as results, without knowing who she was. When I saw the episode, she was so much like me that I couldn't help but cry and fear sorry for her (or possibly myself?). I was also so happy when Kisa was hugged by Haru, because as he is the Ox, he is also the character who's most like my sister Taryn. So that just made me cry more, being how supportive she is.

I think what really threw me over the edge was how unexpected it was! I usually never cry during ANY anime series, but the end of Chrno Crusade had me in tears!

Spoilers are probably going to be listed for the series that I ramble on about. So be warned. D: For me, the real tear jerkers were:

-Fullmoon wo Sagashite: When Mitsuki finds out that Eichi is dead.
-Fruits Basket: Hana and Hatori, Momiji's story.
-Fullmetal Alchemist: Hughes' funeral, when Roy starts crying. Also, at the end of the series, Roy vs. Pride, when he collapsed and Riza screamed his name.
-Naruto: Lee vs Gaara, when I thought that he wouldn't be able to fight anymore. XD; Also when Hayate died.
-Pretear: Very end when Hayate leaned over Himeno's body.

A few made my teary, but few make me blubber. Let's see

FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST (if you don't cry, you have no soul)
Wolf's Rain
Ayashi no Ceres
Loveless
Cowboy Bebop Movie
Escaflowne
X/1999 (no kamui!!!!)
Gundam SEED (nnoooo the piano kid!!! urm....what was his name...NIKOL!!!)
ANNNNNDDDDDD
it may not be an anime, but Moonchild, the Gackt and Hyde movie OMG. I BAWLED.

Which anime made me cry the most rescently? Wolf's Rain, without a doubt. I cried in my boyfriend's lap for like...a half an hour. He couldn't get me to stop, it was just so powerful and so sad. Next to Wolf's Rain is Pretear, and I didn't really expect to cry at that one but man.

Oh, and there was Naruto, at Sarutobi's funeral. I just bawled my eyes out almost worse than the end of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

I agree with Rurouni Teeter. The closest I ever came to tearing up over a series, (if this counts) was the Rurouni Kenshin OVA Reflection...very sad. And I get close to crying so infrequently that I mark my callendar...

It's a draw between Wolf's Rain and Fullmetal Alchemist.
You have no idea how much I agree. I didn't cry, or anything, but damn! Those were sad.

Gankutsuou made me cry the most, so far the only anime that has managed to make me actually sob for more then one episode., all beginning at episode 18 (for those who haven't seen it, I wont spoil it for you) But man, I actually had tears streaming from my eyes, that doesn't happen often =s

There's not many animes I've seen that made me cry, but the ones that did make me cry are Ayashi no Ceres (when I first saw it) and the last episode of Fruits Basket (I don't know why though O_o).

I know there's a couple more animes I've cried to or almost cried to, but I can't recall them right now ^^;;

The only time I've ever actually cried during and anime or manga was when I was at my friend's house reading the 8th (I think it was the 8th, correct me If i'm wrong...) Volume of Evangelion. I was at the part where Kaworu killed the little kitten, and my friend was like, "omg, don't read that it's really sad"...so then i read (because I was stupid) and my friend was like "don't cry!!!" and i started bawling...well not really bawling, but was most defidantly CRYING...:waaaah:

So Eva is the anime that makes me cry...because of a kitten...pretty pathetic...

The one that makes me cry, and that has made me think about things is Ayashi no Ceres . Its really sad how Aya has to go through so much, with all the death and pain of her and her friends and family.
(Spoilers) But, it sometimes makes me happy. Aya is pregnant with Toya's baby, I bet that deep down, she really wanted to have his child. But Toya dies and he didn't even know that he was going to be a father. And the real Aki (not the progenitor) came back, but only for a few seconds, because the shock of Toya's death made Aki come out.
As it is, Ayashi no Ceres is my most favorite manga of all time...

as emotional as I get during an anime, I've only shed tears for an anime once.

that was the ending of AIR (-no spoilers so I shall keep my mouth shut-)

times I've nearly cried/got that lump in my throat...
*spoiler warning!*
Hunter x Hunter York Shin OVA
1. when Kurapika is carrying the eyes of one of the members of his clan to his boss.
2. the ending, it was bitter-sweat somehow... kinda like your so happy that your sad...
*end spoiler warning*
Yu Yu Hakusho
when Yusuke told Keiko he was coming back, and when he came back, I got chills up and down my spine...

n.n and that's all....

Hmmm....Their's two series that come to mind (both I just watched in the past 6 months)
Full Metal Alchemist, the ending (my boyfriend came home right after I finishd watching it and I was balling my eyes out for a half-hour.) He just looked at me like I was nuts, (he still doesn't want to watch it cause it's sad)
The ending of Grave of the Fireflies, wow, yeah anyone who sees that will definatley feel some heart strings being pulled.
And the first time I seen Fruits basket I cried for Momiji, poor kid.

Recent Tearjerkers:

When I watched the ending of .hack//SIGN,I sobbed, the end of Spiral got me good, too. And Knight Hunters, OMG, I cried for two hours. I cried in Last Exile a few times: *SPOILERS* when Dio got brainwashed, when Luciola died, when Dio later then died, when I thought Mulland had died, when I saw that Mulland hadn't died, and the end where Clause and Lavi are flying off into the clouds.

I also cry during the last credits of any anime I finish.

Methinks me will watch Grave of the Fireflies just so me can cry.

Well I'm not much for crying but there have been moments:

- end of Cowboy Bebop
- Towards the end of Wolf's Rain when Tsume is talking to Toboe for the last time.
- I was surprisingly moved at the end of the Wave Country story arc of Naruto (I wasn't expecting Naruto to be THAT good). Good thing I had a friend to hug at the time. I'm only 40 episodes into the series but that part reallly made me cry. Right afterward I went and made that part my avi XD

Recently... Gankutsuou. OMFG I cried so hard..... rarely anime make me cry. But this one... perhaps because I had read the novel Monte Cristo ahead of time so I understood the Count's character. So with that understanding and being really attached to his suffering and such, I must say I cried a lot in episodes 23 and 24... I kept going through those "okay I'm better" moments and then something else would occur. Oh also in ep 18 for... other reasons. ;-;

Please Save My Earth will get me to cry EVERY time I watch the last episode. What a sad sad existance for poor little Shion.

The end of Romeo's Blues Skies gets me choked up too.

Okay, I want to add another moment (way too many pages to find my original post so I'll post again):

NARUTO SPOILER!!!!!

Okay, just watched ep 50 of Naruto where they say Lee will never be able to fight again. The tears were welling up in my eyes, I had to brush them away. Especially when Naruto starts screaming that there's gotta be something they can do. Oh my god....*sniffle* Poor Lee! (DAMN GAARA!) Man, this series is good! You wait through a lot of episodes and then it hits you with a really poignant moment.

Belmare dying in One Piece, damn that was sad.

Zabuza killing himself, the one character I liked in the show and he kills himself!

Grave of the Fireflies in general

The end of Paranoia Agent was pretty sad to me...I dunno.

When Chiyo feels she is a burden in Azu Manga Daioh.

Man, I wish I could cry! All my emotions get caught in my throat and make it all raw and painful when I'm watching something really heartbreaking. I end up feeling really shaky and emotional for the rest of the day...but I can't freakin' cry!

Well, there have been a few that have broken me down.

Grave of the Fireflies, obviously. The first time I saw it, the teacher who was chaperoning our anime club, he was bawling like a child at the end. And I caught it again recently and couldn't stop sobbing.

Fullmetal Alchemist, on numerous occasions. Nina; when Scar catches up with Ed, Al, and Marcoh, and Ed's about to sacrifice himself; the last episode in Laboratory Five; Hughes; when Ed faces off against Greed; pretty much any time Ed and Al show just how much they care for each other. No other series I've seen has put me on that kind of emotional rollercoaster.

I'm pretty sure I cried several times in Fushigi Yugi.

Urusei Yatsura: Beautiful Dreamer. The futuristic dream sequence. Ataru's face as he realizes something's gone wrong, and later when he realizes it wasn't real, really got to me.

Also, it's a bit odd, but the episode of Urusei Yatsura that I think is called "And Then There Was One". It revolves around the song "Who Killed Cock Robin". It creeped me out a bit at first, but the further along I got, the more it upset me.

Several episodes of Escaflowne, which also happens to be my favorite series. The part in the Mystic Valley, the scene between Allen and Hitomi on the bridge (Van's face just broke my heart), when Folken faces off against Dornkirk, when Hitomi begs Van not to fight anymore, the ending.

I cry happy tears every time I watch the end of the second Card Captor Sakura movie.

There are tons of series that give that achey feeling in my tummy and throat:
- Inuyasha, good moments, sad moments, whenever Inuyasha's being particularly insensitive or any moment with Sango and Kohaku.
- Card Captor Sakura tv, sweet moments between Sakura and Li; when Sakura's faced with the consequences of what will happen if she loses to Yue; the last two episodes.
- Wolf's Rain. Pretty much the entire last story arc. Toboe, and Hige and Blue, especially.
- Yu Yu Hakusho. For a mostly straightforward shonen fighting anime, there're an awful lot of really heartwrenching angsty moments! Too many to list, though I think I did actually cry when Genkai goes down.
- Fruits Basket. The last few episodes actually made me feel bad for being a Yuki fan! Like, "maybe Kyo really does need my support more".
- The Kare Kano manga. I haven't had a chance to see the anime, but the story feels so real.
- The Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle manga. I'm a huge Sakura/Syaoran fan.
-And, very recently, the manga Dramacon! The situation between the main character and her boyfriend...parts of it really struck home for me. Not the worst of it, but the feeling of growing distance and emotional separation.

I wish I could cry whenever I feel like it. It would be a lot easier on me, and I wouldn't stay up nights quite so often, trying to settle my feelings of emotional disquiet.

Wolf's Rain, definately(sp).

And actually, a few parts of Gravitation because I'm a nerd. xP
When Shuichi came home in the 11th or 12th episode and Yuki wasn't there and Shuichi said something and was looking around the house. Also when it tells you about Yuki's past and all of that, and lastly; when Shuichi finds Yuki at the end and the two talk for a few minutes.

Wolf's Rain (ending especially, but the whole series gets me sometimes)
FullMetal Alchemist (episode 17 and 25 get me every time)
Cowboy BeBop (the Jupiter Jazz episodes)
Chobits (both anime and manga)
Gungrave

Those are the only ones I can think of...

I had to cry most at Lady Oscar (called so here in Germany) (I think it´s also called Rose of Versaille or so *drop*)
The end was so sad. I couldn´t stop crying as I saw how all died. It was only terrible. T_T

And I als cryed in the episode of X, where Subaru killed Seishiro. This was very sad. T_T And the Manga Tokyo Babylon makes me also cry, when Seishiro lost his eye to protect Subaru. And of cause the end. I suffered so with Subaru. u_u

Spoliers below!!

Call me crazy, but I cried at the end of Excel Saga. Namely episodes 23-25. At the end of episode 23 when Ilpalazzo shoots Excel, then again when they face off in 25. The first anime to ever have me close to tears. I still get a lump in my throat watching episode 23.

I'd be crazy if I didn't cry during Fullmetal Alchemist. The whole Nina thing (though I felt more pissed off/disgusted with Tucker than sad), Hughes' death (I read the manga version of that, and the last panel with him laying on the floor of the phonebooth was just...wow.). I know I'm going to be a basket case when the seires comes to a close. :waaaah:

I haven't actually seen it yet but I've read the manga version of Haku's death in Naurto. I'd hate to see my reaction the anime version.

Fushigi Yuugi hands down. I cry when Tama's family is killed, Nuriko's death, Chiriko's death (for both of those, I cry because of Tasuki's reaction), Mitsukake's death (don't really cry at Hotohori's death), the dream about the wedding, then the actual end of the series. I also end up crying at a couple of parts at the 2nd OVA, namely the whole deal with Nuriko and his brother Ryuuen, Chichiri and Hikou and Hotohori and his son Boushin. I don't know how, but even though I cry so much in the series, it's the only series that can really make me cry. It also happens to be my favourite *laughz*.

And is it just me, or after skimming through a few of these lists, quite a few people really do get teary eyed at FY?

I can't say I've ever cried during a series, but a few had me close:

1: Grave of the Firefles: I first saw it when I was around seven years old, way back when, so I think that the inability to process some of the events worked in my favor. I definitely bat an eyelash but I do not cry.

2: Full Moon Wo Sagashite: I just finished watching this series for the third time around and it still hits me like a ton of bricks. I definitely come close to getting a little bit misty several times in the series but no tears.

3: Utena, both the series and the movie in various events.
