I need a bunch of ribbons. A ton and a half of a thick red/purple color, and also some edged in pearls (I am positive I've seen this before)... Joanns has a very small selection! Does Michaels (or other craft stores) have ribbons? Anyone know of any other good locations? Arrgh!

Michael's does carry ribbons, but I don't remember how good their selection is. There's always Hobby Lobby as well if you have them in your area. What color do you need the ones with pearl edging in ? I'm pretty sure I've seen bridal trim ribbon like that, at Hancock's I think it was.
Also, you have a pretty good chance of finding what you're looking for here, and probably cheaper than it would be in Michael's/etc. - There's a site near the top, called the Ribbonry, their catalog would be a tad tedious to dig through but it's worth a shot. Also beware Calontir Trim, their catalog made my browser hang for a good five minutes *GRR*, and they carry mostly patterned ribbon anyway.

Mikael's selection of ribbons suck. It's more of gift-wrapping ribbon IMO (at least in my local branch), not high quality for-sewing ribbon. Do you have a G Street Fabric store nearby? I seem to recall them having the perly ribbon you mention...

Auctions also sometimes have boxed lots of ribbons & lace. I've got more lace then you could shake a Sakura wand at.

Try www.cheeptrims.com. There are a few other ribbon/trim specialty stores on the net, too, but I forget their names.
Otherwise, keep checking JoAnns and Michaels, as they start getting ribbons in for the holidays.
