Just pitching some ideas, uhm.....

When ever there's an anime convention around the NYC area, I wonder if a group of cosplayers could "invade" the "Conan O’Brian" late night talk show. Usually he caters to the teens and 20-somethings audiences. I bet if there's a large enough group of cosplayers attending the show, there's a good chance that they might get on TV. But their security crew might have some issues with weapons etc... (I’m not totally sure about their security policies).

NBC tapes the "Conan O’Brian" show at NBC Studios NYC, which is the same place that they tape SNL.

So, what do you all think? Is this even possible or is it just a bad idea all together?

Well, it doesn't have to be the "Conan O'Brian" show (it's the only late night show i know of that doesn't charge for tickets). It all depends on the cosplay-group size that attends a viewing of a late night show taping. If it's a large group, then they will definately be noticed and visa versa. NBC's "Tonight Show With Jay Leno" is taped in Burbank, California. CBS's "Late Show With David Letterman" is taped in NYC. So if someone could get a large enough group of cosplayers together and attend a late night show of some sort, i'm sure that they would be noticed.

Heh, I can just see it now: the cast of Initial D cosplaying in the audience.

Jay: So what's all that about?
Cosplayers: Drifting Jay, drifting.
Jay: Oh, can you drift my cars?

Note: Jay Leno is a huge automotive/motorcycle collector. Has a column in Popular Mechanics. Has been known to drive his classic cars to work.

Reporting from PA here... (EASTCOAST AT LAST!!! woo hoo!) and I would totally be up for that. I'm sure you'd have a number of cosplayers from the Allentown/Philly area who would be down with it too.

Next year. BAAF. I say we DO IT!!

I still vote for Conan O'brian. He'd waste half his show to talk to us. and we could bring him gifts. But yeah, if there was a large enough group people it would be no problem getting onto his show. -Sketch
