View Full Version : Naraku (Inuyasha) question

I'm planning on making a Naraku costume for Ai-Kon 2005 (or an earlier con if I can get it done) but I'm not sure how to work out one thing. I want to have the scar on my back, but as I am a woman, I don't think it's a good idea to actually henna or paint a huge spider on my back because if I take my shirt off, I'm likely to get arrested. :)
So what is the best way to do it? Have a shirt underneath that's flesh-coloured and paint it on using fabric paint? Or is there another way?

I'm also doing Naraku, I'm edging around that problem by doing two versions, one just the full clothes, ignoring the spider, and the other all tattered. I seem to remember in the books somewhere when the back of the outfit gets slashed, thus revealing the spider, but the clothes didn't fall off. Which is the important bit for us girls.

Oh, I never thought about doing that! Thanks for the great idea, Hitori!
Which outfit are you making? The black/purple one with the ribbon-type design on it?

Yeah, the navy and purple one^_^ Hopefully to be worn at JTAF (Sept).

You could alter the outfit and have it cut down the back but still covering the front of you.
