That's the livejournal community where the information is posted, the TENATIVE plans are to meet in Como Park on Saturday, September 25th. (near the observatory but not in it and not at the zoo). We are asking people to sign up on the journal to bring things so we can have it be a potluck with more than just "chips." It was going to be a lunch meeting, 12-whenever people think it's good to go, 7pm at the latest. We would probably try to eat near the "frog pond" and there is also a Japanese garden in the area that is very beautiful, but I don't think they would let us picnic in it.

However, if enough people want a different date and comment about it on the journal, things can change.

Open to all EGL/EGA/cosplay people. People just interested in anime/Japanese culture in general are welcome, but we'd prefer to get more people in costume than just Cowboy Beebop shirts. ^_^

OMG! I'll go! If I can't come up with something more EGL can I wear my Klaha costume?

Sounds cool. I might go, provided I can get the day off work (yes, I have to work on Saturdays). Unfortunately, I wouldn't have a costume... but I could wear my Otakon T-shirt!

And pardon the n00b but, what exactly is "EGL" and "EGA"?

Yes, if you don't have any EGL/EGA we don't mind you wearing another costume because we understand this was kinda short notice for costume-making. Just keep in mind what Minnesota September weather is like when you make your choice.

People can even come without costumes, the more the merrier and the more food we can get, after all. We just prefer costumes.

Be sure to stop by the journal and say hello!

EGL/EGA is "Elegant Gothic Lolita/Aristocrat". Try searching the Gothic and Lolita Bibles or "Mana" from Malice Mizer to get any idea of the style.

This is good timing for an EGL event seeing as I'm in my advanced cake decorating unit at school -_^

As long as nothing comes up there should be no problem. I was just thinking, isn't september a liitle chilly for a picnic? At fest, by the end we're all wrapped in cloaks.
