View Full Version : Ride from San Francisco to AM
09-18-2004, 05:32 AM
Hi, my boyfriend and I need a lift to Ani-Magic. We originally had a ride to AM but at the last moment something happened and our ride has decided to not attend AM, so we're stuck in a very big lurch! We are willing to pay for gas money and what not! ^^ Also we will not be carrying big costumes that have props. Most of our costumes are cloth based ones and the only luggage we will be bringing is those small trolley carrying ones.
So yeah. Anyone can give us a ride? =3
PM me. ^^
PS You might know my BF. He's the Gackt cosplayer at last year's AM and around Bay Area cons.

Have you thought about cheking into Amtrack? I know one or two people who are going down to AM that way.
It might cost a bit more than car travel, but it might be worth it.

Is there an Amtrak stop near Ani-Magic? o_O Or are they stopping somewhere else and taking a taxi? Also, Amtrak from San Francisco may take a long while. -_-
Hope you find a way down here, Masako!

I don't know the specifics, but Raven (Soyarama's Sexy Robot) has taken it down to the Los Angeles area. Check out their website: http://www.amtrak.com Also, check the hotel you're staying at. They would have the kind of information, (i.e. Station to hotel and where it is.)
If anything else, you can arrange something with someone down there to bring you back. (Maybe)
Anyway, check it out.

I just checked the information on the Ani-magic website about the travelling info by rail.
"Rail service to Santa Clarita and Newhall is available on the Metrolink system from Los Angeles Union Station, Burbank, and other points each day and the weekend. There is sunday service, but unavailable for Lancaster residence, who must ride the SCT #795 from Lancaster Metrolink station. When you arrive, just hop aboard the #2 from Newhall station (north bound) or the same bus coming from Santa Clarita station (south bound) free of charge"
Maybe you can get a ride back to the train station from someone....?
Anyway, here is the info on the Santa Clarita stop. : http://www.amtrak.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Amtrak/am2Station/Station_Page&c=am2Station&cid=1080080551192&ssid=80
Have fun looking it up.

*nods* Yeah, the Burbank Amtrak stop is what I thought. I was thinking of taking the Amtrak too, but then decided it would be so much easier and straightpathed to just ask around for a ride, and just pay them for gas. ^^
Anyhoo, best of luck!

I have friends going down from the area that might be able to take extra people as long as you'll help pay for gas and whatnot. I can try to ask them or maybe they'll even see this thread, since they're on the boards. ^^

Thx for all the replies! ^^
It's so confusing. @_@ But I'll get through! So far my options are:
I'm currently reseraching all of them but my knowledge on American public transport is quite bad. >_< I'm having quite a hard time.

I'd offer, but I don't know which car I am taking.
And if it's the one I think, it will barely hold me.

I have already offered a ride to somebody from San Jose the only requirement is if you can make it to near Tracy.
If you can take the Bart to Livermore we can pick you up from there.
But we are only going to take one more person so if you like to consider please let us know quick.
One way ticket to Livermore from SF is $7-8
