My boyfriend wants to be Vincent this year for Anime North. He wants me to go as Tifa so we could match, but I personally can't imagine wearing that outfit because it's so tiny. So I thought, maybe I could do a girly version of Vincent. I've posted a link to what I have in my head so far based on a couple ultra girly characters i've seen floating around. If anyone has suggestions they would really help me out a lot. Other than the colour and the buckle things there's not much to tie it to the original so far, but I think I've definately got the girly part taken care of...

That's so cool! It really captures the essence of Vincent's costume, and turns it into a feminine outfit!
What kind of shoes? I think boots would look cool, but I have an obsession with boots :P. I also think it should have long hair...

Wow. That's cute ^_^ I say go for it. And give her gold high heels with pointed toes, and wear a gold glove or something on one arm, to give it that little Yay-Its-A-Girly-Non-Metal appeal. And don't forget a nice headband :p

But omg cute. *dies*

I agree. And a headband. Otherwise it just doesn't look Vincent enough.

A suggestion: His shirt ends just above the elbow and he has a fingerless glove. I'd go with that instead of the long gloves. If you want, you can feminize the fignerless glove. Or heck, the gold one too.

I really like the design, i would wear that dress out for a shopping day or something, i really like the design.... VERY CUTE!

A few things to make it more vincent like would be alter the bandanna into a headband, or an EGL bonnett. You should wear knee high boots, and the stockings should be fishnets. I really like the sleves you have but to make it more vincent i like the idea proposed above: GEt rid of the right sleeve and make it like his gold claw glove, and put the gold tips on the boots.

This is just an idea if it is cold or you dont want to show your shoulders, even though i really like the belts on the torso of the dress i think that maybe you could alter vincent's cloak/cape, into a shawl. Like hqave the red drape over the sholders with the buclkes loosely holding it together but dont make it a cloak and just cut if off mid back, so you can see the bottom of the dress. That would make the costume a strike!

I really love the idea, and your dress design is to die for! Good luck with the costume, i would really love to see how it turns out!

I was going to do mary-janes or something cute like that for the shoes. They're fairly comfy for a long day of conventioning. I could paint them gold...what do you think of that? I love boots too. If i get the ones i want for christmas i'll probably wear them with it (knee-high with square metal thingies at the laces) and do a pointy gold shoe-end thing. Me in high heels is just asking for a trip to the hospital :p I'm not sure where i can get fishnet stay-ups (i really like the garter look), any suggestions? I already have a panty-hose style pair.
Now on to the gloves, what about an elbow-length gold one with no fingers, and long fake gold fingernails on the one hand to get the claw effect?then I dunno...some lace or something to make it girly? lol. the black fingerless one I think would be fairly easy to do.
I really like the shawl idea, and it works for Anime North too, because may is kind of an unpredictable month temperature-wise in Toronto. It will also come in handy if the fan-boy action is a bit too intense :eeek:
Still don't know about the bonnet/headband. I could go either way on that one but i do agree that something is necessary.
Another question I have is about hair and make-up. I'm very fair skinned and blonde, so I don't know if a black wig would make me look like a, um, cadaver. lol. Also, should I do gothy make-up or just leave it as-is?
Thanks for the really great suggestions everyone :-)
Does lucrecia have a funky costume? I've neer seen her before (I haven't finished the game yet and the bf didn't mention her)

Lucrecia has no funky costume. =\ You wouldn't be recognized much, unless you wore a sign XD She had the same hairstyle as Aeris.

Boots/mary janes sound great =) And the gold nails thing sounds really nice and creative. Garters can be found at Walmart. Gothy makeup would work nicely - and a black wig would really give it that Vincenty oomph.

Anime North? =D I'm so getting tons of pictures.

I didn't get to see any of the pics anyone took of me last year, guess they just weren't fit for the internet  I don't know which day I'll be wearing it. I'm doing ashe from ff12 as well

I LOVE your idea for the gold fingernails and the fingerless glove, that is an awsome idea!
I have a hottopic near by that has some stayups, and you just connect them to a pair of thighhighs, but if you already have pantyhose that works just as well = )

I am doing ashe from ff12 for otakon 2005 = ) its a really cool costume.

But i am really interested to see how the femme vincent turns out!

well, I'll definately post a finished pic whenever it gets done, maybe sketch a few things out and see what everyone thinks before i get to work on it. I'm so excited to start a new costume now ^_^ Ashe is fun but i can only carve foam for so long before it gets a bit blah:waaaah:
