Uh yeah, sure... This coming from a 14 y/o?! You have a long ways to go.

01-01-2003, 09:31 PM
Sohma, I can give a rats ass if you hate DDR or not. But I will not have you start a flame war here, escpecially with your record. This is your warning here. Violate it, and it's over!

Ranma: Cool it. I'm not going to have you give him fuel either.

01-01-2003, 09:39 PM
Okay, guys, the deal with CrackPr0n/Sohma, he's an old-schooler in DDR, and then it got old and he quit, at least that's what I put together from chatting with him in #mt...
He's not 14, that's a joke >.>

But he should also chill and not start a flame war... again...

And those who really know Bemani music will know that they're IIDX songs and not DDR... heh.
But really what they did, they labled the genres of the songs by the series they came from.. whether Beatmania, DanceManiax, Drummania, whatever...
I don't care, I just wanna play more djTAKA songs =B

Ranma Saotome
01-01-2003, 09:45 PM
Yeah well Oshi, we don't need an old-schooler badmouthing it, even though we we're all excited about this latest mix.

And there are rumors stating that there could be yet another DDR. But we won't know until it's official.

Now. let us get back to celebrating DDR 8th mix! :)

First time for anything. :)

01-03-2003, 05:07 AM
I tried DDR once in the arcade and was hooked you should try it KaineMaxwell it's fun. I almost have both of my roomates doing DDR.

01-03-2003, 05:24 AM
Wahahahaha I can't wait for DDR Extreme! I'm glad, though, that it's the last one. I've still got room for improvement and I don't need DDR to turn into the Land Before Time >_<;

01-03-2003, 06:53 AM
Just a matter of getting to a DDR machine..or buying one the games and find the pad for my PS2...

god mikey, i totally feel the pain -_- at least we know we can laugh in their faces if they try that shit.

iidx foreverrrrr ;-;

oh yeah and I didnt get a chance to play EX because the line for it at AI was fucking ridiculous and you couldnt HEAR the fucking songs either since both machines are right next to each other.

01-03-2003, 11:11 PM
I'll bet that Broadway City will have it in 2 weeks. *drools*

01-04-2003, 04:20 PM
oh good lord... so the lines will be retarded and i'll have to wait till it closes at 4am to play... that arcade is such a ripoff. if they DO get EX i hope they get a whole friggin new machine with pads that work.

01-04-2003, 10:55 PM
Just come early Maryssa. I'm sure you get a lot of play if you do.

01-04-2003, 11:05 PM

You know that wont happen unless someone damages the machine... *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*

01-05-2003, 12:37 AM
8th...? O.o There are too many mixes. I was pretty content with 4th Mix Plus and 5th Mix. :X I haven't bothered to try and get into 6th or 7th; barely played them. Man, wasn't DDR like superamazing new only a few years ago? ^_^;

@_@ There seems to be Queen songs in this one. Dude. o.o;;

01-05-2003, 12:47 AM
i agree michi... the novelty of ddr definitely died a couple years ago. i enjoy playing every now and then but its definitely not a big deal nowadays. its like konami is releasing these new mixes because the rest of us are getting bored with the same old songs people have beaten every way possible... they keep throwing in new options, but there's still something lacking that doesnt excite me like it used to.

ahhh the good old days of 3rd mix when i never though i'd be physically able to pass a cata =p and when it WASNT an overplayed anime convention obsession...

01-05-2003, 07:39 PM
I want to play this just for the remix of Aqua's Cartoon Heros, which is one of the greatest songs EVER ^___^

I admit the obsession factor people get with DDR is kinda scary, though o_O I like to play it for the music, hehe...

Dance With Intensity had Super Mario Bros and the Super Show song! :D

But yea, that's nothing new to me. One of the arcades I went to has 7TH MIX @ a movie theatre... not bad, but I still perfer 3rd, 4th and 5th Mixes better.

::head slightly bounces to "Boom Boom Dollar"::

its rare to find a machine that ISNT 7th mix now.

Bah, DWI is weak. :p It's also availiable for StepMania too! :)

BTW, there's also an underground pattern for Kiss Kiss Kiss that's also in DDREX that I had found months ago.

playing ddr with your fingers is weaker.

That's what you think. Playing the fingers helps to coordination of your feet when playing. I have a friend who watches others when playing, follows the arrows with hhis fingers and he can get up there and seriously play. Mind you he also spent 2 years in Japan playing and he can easily do 85% of songs on Maniac (Heavy).

Do you still think DDRing with your fingers is still weak now?

01-06-2003, 08:29 PM
i do. its just not the way i learn personally, sorry. maybe i'll try it someday.

i dont really think having played in japan makes one a better player, either.

Well doing that way has helped me, but i don't play it as much cuz I play with a small crowd over at Lazer Park.

Oh you'd be amazed how much of a better player that makes you. Next time you're this way, how about a little contest? :D

Ranma Saotome
01-08-2003, 01:37 AM
Sohma, you're dead wrong, end of story.

Maryssa, no need to be so anal about it.

01-08-2003, 01:57 AM
huh? i'm anal now? I havent posted since you last replied to me o_o

and everyone has their own ways of learning, so no, Mikey is NOT dead wrong. You're the one who even stated you just got into ddr recently, so who is to say you know what is better anyway?

Ranma Saotome
01-08-2003, 11:55 AM
I didn't know gettin into DDR recently was equal to a year. I still say he's wrong because I have friend in the DDR community I keep in touch with and it's not the freaks on DDRFreak.com either. That and everyone has a learning curve to playing DDR. Stepmania helps me, so there.

01-08-2003, 02:22 PM
You say he's wrong, yet you admit everyone has a different learning curve. You can't say he's wrong simply because he doesn't use your method.

And yes, just a year of ddr IS recent. People like Mikey have been playing for at LEAST 4 years now. I've been playing for 3.

This is totally pointless, can we please end this?

Ranma Saotome
01-08-2003, 08:38 PM
Would explain why the top players suck horribly now. A year of DDR is not recent. but since you two elitists think that y'all know so much better, I shall drop it.

no, please, elaborate. this one I REALLY want to hear. do you even know any of the top players? can you name any of the people you think are these top players who suck now, or the current top PAers in the country?

I'm not making this into some elitist battle... We are both simply pointing out that you are making these statements without sufficient facts to back them up.

01-08-2003, 10:27 PM
time to go play DWI in Japan, SEE YOU IN 2 YEARS, GAIJIN DOGS

ooh whee thx for pics! Makes me want to go down to milpitas golfland where I hear they're getting it any day now XD Yeah I hate ppl who are like acting like they know everything bout ddr. And the ppl who say pump it up is copying ddr, when the lawsuit about piu vs ddr said that pump it up did come first and it s not a copy of ddr. ^_^ (i like piu better but like I hate the premier2 version, the songs in prex were much better) ^_^

I wish I lived near a DDR machine. It seems everywhere in Michigan but the city I live in has a DDR machine. Maybe one day..an arcade place will open up and I shall be saved ;_;

Ranma Saotome
01-11-2003, 03:36 PM
Okay, with all the egos and bullshitting aside...

According to what representatives over at LaZeR ParK told me last night, they will be getting DDREX next week. But with the demands of orders, I wouldn't expect it there until 2nd week of February, but I could be wrong. I'll post a followup next week.

Ranma Saotome
01-12-2003, 01:25 AM
That's Andamiro.

But didn't Konami lose the countersuit? I mean if they won, wouldn't that mean that Andamiro couldn't pump out any more PiU and F2 Systems couldn't do TechnoMotion?

Ranma Saotome
01-12-2003, 09:48 PM
Hmm... Good enough.

01-13-2003, 03:27 AM
Well lets first things first, the best place to buy DDR pads is E-Bay, then mod them. For modding guides go to DDRfreak.com

Secondly, EX is not the last mix, there was no official announcement regarding this.

Third the Top PAers right now ar DJ Trunks, Tigger, Fox, GPFLith, Ver2, Jin 2 Fah, Mike from Santee, and a person from Las Vega whose name I can't remember. These are the American players, I am not sure of the players in Japan.

Fourth, for those of us in the San Diego Area, Ray's Game Center in La Jolla now has EX.

Fifth, EX is arcade only right now, there are no home versions even in import.

I think that covers just about everything.

01-23-2003, 07:15 PM
Oh yeah, if anyone still cares. Chinatown Fair has DDR Extreme.

I'm expecting someone to rebuttle this, but that's not the point of this post...

I saw it with my own eyes, and Studmaster posted it for me. Lazer Park (4 songs/$2) and Chinatown Fair (3 songs/$1). Look for the NYO crew at Lazer Park there between 10 and 10:30PM tonight! Join us for some major kick ass DDR enjoyment! :)

EX is the last one. There is no public release, but there was speak of it in multiple places. Not stupid rumor mill sites either.

You know... When you starty acting mature and you have some common sense, then perhaps you'll get the respect that you deserve.

You can't even spell CTF right...

This thread was originally about DDR Extreme and the fans of it, not the player haters who fail 2 foot songs like you. Do this thread and the rest of us a favor and just leave. You won't be missed.

Yeah, use to be... Lemme guees, some 12 y/o kick your ass on basic?

If you're going to spell something, at least get it right.

As for your opinon, I don't give a damn, but when your opinon falls in the ranks of offending someone, that's when I have a problem.

Again, since you're so adamant against DDR, just leave this thread to those who want to play it.

Since you want to pure stupidity, go look in a mirror. And instead of talking smack, it wouldn't hurt you to help others, or is that too much of a blow to your ego.

Face it, you ain't nobody... You talk, but can you walk? I don't think so.

01-24-2003, 03:51 PM
DDR Extreme arrived here in Central Florida at Rocky's... but I really don't see any 'extreme' difference.

Don't get me wrong... I like DDR. Hell, I own DDR, Konamix, MAX...and imports of 4th/Extra/5th. But it's starting to lose its luster for me since I haven't seen anything to improve on the basic idea... "DANCING". Sure, it's fun to see experts do all kinds of crazy tricks on the stage, and fun to laugh at some of the people looking like they're having a seizure from doing frenzied MAX300 like songs (which ISN'T dancing no matter how you try to explain it). Seriously speaking though, this is the easiest game to lure people into playing but it's not enough alone to 'keep' playing.

I like that they've upped the number to 220+ songs, but if it's nothing but remixes or music only the diehards and Asian pop lovers know of; I don't forsee DDR profits lasting much longer in the American market even if this is the 'last' game released. I know it's tough to grab licensing from record companies to put in a videogame... but hell, if GTA:Vice City could do it; I'm sure a well known videogame company like Konami could encourage these music companies to throw their artists into the mix. Konami could definitely make the game more popular and profitable by appealing to a wider audience.

It's highly doubtful Konami'll change it significantly if DDRExtreme does make it to the consoles, but if it's the last one - I welcome it. It was fun, but it's time to step down...and introduce a new active playing game.
