Hey all, Im new to this site and Im looking for some help with a costume. Im going to Otakon as Spike Spiegle from Cowboy Bebop and have everything I need made and ready with the exception of a wig. Is there anyone out there that knows where I could get such a thing or how to make a wig. If so please get back to me asap. Thanks!
Hmm....He had some funky hair, so it might be a little difficult finding the right wig for Spike cosplay. I'd recommend doing a lot of searching at either costume/Halloween stores in your area, or trying online searches for 'wigs' or 'costume wigs'. You MIGHT be able to find a run of the mill green wig, then style it a bit to achieve the Spike look, but I'm afraid I have no idea how to do styling on wigs.
The only other alternative I can think of would be to dye your own hair and style it, but I'd do that only as an absolute last resort (if at all).
Hope it helps!

You will have one hell of a time finding a green wig like Spike's hair! For my bf's Spike costume, we found a short wild wavy black wig and used green floral spray to give it green "highlights" rather than a solid green. Some parts were more concentrated than others so the roots look forest green and the topmost hairs have an almost emerald quality.
You can find floral spray at most craft stores but don't use spray paint in its place. If used properly, floral spray won't make your wig stiff or crunchy (unless you want it to be that way). Also, if you work fast enough, you can re-style the wig while the spray is still wet and once it dries, it'll hold that style.

The hair, the hair..... *Laughing profusely* Yeah the hair was kickn' Spike, it had it's own entity.. We may have to get a room for the hair itself next year when we go.
