If you're not a member now, I suggest you don't get a membership. They expire each August, so unless you're buying really expensive fabric, just wait till August.

Depends on the stores from what I gather from previous discussions that we've had on these boards.

In the Toronto stores, the membership is $15. $12.50 for students. IIRCl it's cheaper in places like Cornwall and Kitchener?

Every year I tell myself I won't get the membership cuz I won't need it - and them come January I buy the card and end up saving a bucketload. It is silly that they expire each August though - you'd think that they would expire 1 year from the day you purchase it.

Okay, thanks ^^ I thought it would be more then that for some reason. I should check that out at Fabricland here 'cause I live in Richmond Hill.

Most stores are having a sale now where you can buy the remainder of this year's membership (good until August) for $9. Depending on how much you need to buy, $9 may be really worth the savings you get. ^_^
I know when I first bought my membership, the $15 fee paid for itself in savings that day! ^_~

how much is it to b a member?

In Western Canada, currently memberships are $10 for regulars, and $8 for seniors and students. In the beginning of the year, a membership is $15, so the price goes down as the months go by. Memberships are good until December 31st.

I've learned to not get hyped over any sale anymore. .... Unless the Character Prints go from the regular $9.98 to $2.99. I work at Fabricland, and have so for about a year and a half, so I see the 50% off signs come back so often, I hardly care. Just check Fabricland's websites for the sale prices, and you'll see that there's ALWAYS a sale on EVERYTHING. It's just that the sale prices vary.

I get excited about sales, but I certainly don't get upset if I miss them. They go on ALL the time, and they've always got 50% off SOMETHING I can use. Though this seems like a good time to buy some fabric; 50% off five metres of fabric=yey!

I just remember on New Years when they had a sale on simplicity patterns; 1$ each. I was so excited. I bought like, 35$ of patterns for 7$. <3

all I can say is that 50% of faux fur that is regularly priced at $47.99 is a good thing :D

Just curoius. How much is the membership?I'm not setting a bad example. >_> (<-in denial)

In some areas (Cambridge, Kitchener, St. Catherines, Niagara Falls, Whitby, Oshawa and Welland), the membership is free. There's a premium membership you can get for further discounts that costs money (about the same as a regular membership in TO).

I got mines from Kitchener and I just have the free card. While it states on the back that it's only valid at the above mentioned locations, the front looks identical to the TO memberships, and so far everytime I've used it in TO, they've accepted it without question.

The really cheap way to be cheap. XD

Weehee, I just bought a LOT of what should be VERY expensive fabric. $71, and that's with the 50% off.... And that's just for one costume... I better not mess this one up. :P

I'm gonna go tomorrow and nab me several more meters of that black fabric I love so much so I can actually get started on my main AN costume. >_>
