Hi! ^_^

Now that summer is here, we can all go out and eat hotdogs ^o^

This is just hypothetically speaking, but I have a friend who is a semi-pro photographer who is interested in doing very snazzy shots of cosplayers this summer. He wanted me to help organize a shoot, and I like food, so why not make it a BBQ? ^_^;;

If you're interested, which month is the best time for you?

-June
-July
-or August

Again, this is just hypothetically speaking, if enough people are interested it could happen ^___^

thank uuuu

~heki

Yep! It is Southern Ontario. Mississauga or Toronto. ^_^

It's not BBQ-able but I can bring cookies. :9

Late July or early August'll be good. I'll have my costumes from AX by then and I can fix 'em up in time for some newer photos. Maybe if it's mid August I'll even have Otakon/CN stuff ready. XD That'd be impressive. :P

Late July is good (after Toronto Trek or GCAF) or early August for me.

I won't be around for the last couple weeks of August and most people get into making costumes for CNA so sometime in the middle is a good choice :)

This is an excellent idea. (^_^) For the first time in years, I have zero major plans for the summer so I'm free any time for an event. I'm not sure costume wise what I could wear, but by late July I should have my ZAFT uniform done (I hope) or maybe something simple and comfy (so I don't die from overheating). (^^);; Only time will tell. (^_^)

Early August sounds best for me..
Thankfully what I'm planning to wear to CN is weather-wise, No way in hell I'd be in the mood to goof around or take pictures if I was hot and uncomfortable xD;
A good way to pay for the BBQ would to have people all contribute 5-10$, that way instead of each bringing tiny things from home that won't last, Winnie or whoever wants to can go out and get a whole bunch of food or order for it.

GOOD IDEA! :bigtu: 2 weeks before the event I'll get everyone who is 100% going to contact me regarding allergies/preferences/religious-preferences; that way I won't get anything that someone won't enjoy. ^_^

I was thinking Erindale Park in Mississauga, as a change of scenery from High Park; since there's been many shoots there already.

Also, perhaps early August is the best time, since both NAF and GCAF are at the Mid/End of July ^_^

*edit*
One more quick question for you guys:

***Weekday vs. Weekend?***

I know people have work and stuff on weekdays, but then weekends has harder public transportation.
UNLESS I can bug some minivan drivers to transport people from SquareOne to the park and people can just chip for gas lol! I dunno, just throwing around ideas--hehe cosplay taxi ^___^

Keep suggestions coming ^____^

***Weekday vs. Weekend?***

Sounds like fun. :) I vote weekend , (saturday or sunday)since I have to work midnights on weekdays and therefore have to sleep during the day or go to work feeling terrible and jepordizing my job. I've done enough of that already due to the first two conventions of the season. :(

Michi

Well, whenever this happens, I'll likely be driving from the Stouffville Sideroad and 404 area. So for those local to Markham/Stouffville/Richmond Hill, I probably wouldn't mind going too far out of my way to help some people get out to Mississauga. Granted, it's still too early to figure everything out but just offering the option to those people who are stuck for rides.

If it's in mississauga I can probably help out anyone in the Kitchener/waterloo/cambridge/guelph area that needs a drive. I can only fit four people total in my car, but I thought I'd offer anyway. ^_^

I'm all for a Friday or Saturday as the photoshoot day, since those are the only days I have off (and I'm too new at the job to ask for any time off yet), and early august sounds good. Maybe the first week?

I can bake shortbread cookies! Yes? Or I can bring chips! As for transportation..uh, I'll have to find where this place is. I believe that the 1 or the 1c will stop at Mississauga Rd and Dundas, which is the nearest major intersection to the park. You can catch these buses anywhere along Dundas (for the most part) and its end points are Islington Station and at South Common Mall.

heki-chan
06-05-2005, 02:15 AM
I'll check around and see if I can find mini-van drivers who can help shuttle people from the Subway station (Kipling) to the Park, and the passengers can help chip in $2 or whatever a ride for gas and stuff, since the drivers most likely won't be cosplayers/con-goers and would get annoyed at me BWAHAH XD

cheaper and faster than Sauga's transit system. I'll try to find people to help ^_^

Another update:

We need at LEAST 25 people total so I can apply for a permit and reserve a portion of the park :)

So if people can start 100% confirming with me, either on this thread, PM, email [sma.cosplay@gmail.com], or MSN/AIM; sometime by next Thursday, that would be awesome since I'm sure we'd need to reserve this early in advance. ^_^

That sounds like a good strategy :X
The problem with potlucks is that it iisn't very practical to carry food around for people who are commuting, and in the end would probably take alot more time, effort and money anyway. Plus, you always run the risk of not having nearly enough or allergies xD; I know this firsthand from many failed potlucks at my martial arts school xD

The best food would probably be things almost everyone has a chance of liking, I.e:
Pizza
KFC
Chips
Pop
Cookies and sweets
Party mix bags of chocolates
Veggie tray
Water

(Though anyone bringing this on their own is cool too.)

Instant food is the best, and alot of it will just be throw-awayable at the park so that you don't end up lugging a crapload of stuff too and from, cause that would be a pain xD
I'd say look at stuff beforehand, find the prices and divide it by whatever the number of comers will be, so you won't lose anything out of your pocket.

Brita_Lee
06-06-2005, 12:33 PM
I can't confirm yet, cause I still need to know if I'll have a way there. I can check to see if the coach bus in town goes to Missasauga, but then I still need to find out how to get to the park from the terminal. As long as I have a way there, I am SO 100% confirmed.

If I remember correctly (since I haven't been to that park in years) some of the areas have built in bbq's and/or bbq pits.

I'm tentatively in, since I don't know how many Saturday's I cab book off this summer without it being overkill. If I can't get the whole day off, then I'll turn up around my work schedule. ^_^

Mage: Okie! I will ^_^ THE FIRST POST HAS BEEN UPDATED WITH NEWEST INFORMATION. LOOK FOR THE SUN SMILIES ON THE FIRST POST

Regarding time, not sure yet, probably 2 or 3 pm?

Another few questions for you guys:
Would people prefer doing the shoots BEFORE eating or AFTER eating? Cuz I know me and my sister have this thing where we think we look fat after we eat. ^_^; Dunno if that's a problem with anyone.

I was thinking doing some of the shoots as people arrive, and have a sign up sheet or whatever, and continue to do them as the food is on the grill. Then just wrap all the shoots up when the food is ready.

-------------

Another question:

Do you guys like COAL BBQs or GAS BBQs?
We have both, just wondering. :)

I'm trying to get my little hands on my friend's george foreman bbq grill muahaha. we shall see.

Kia
06-07-2005, 01:09 AM
Well, about food, there are two things to think about (off the top of my head).

1) How long will the food last (as in, can we wait until after the shoot without it going bad?)
2) Do people trust eating in their costumes? I may have to bring a bib for myself, just in case. ^_^

Though I think if we ate after the main photoshoot, then it would be a good time to just sit around and socialize. ^_^

I was just wondering how these photoshots works that's all.
in the past at other photoshoots it all depends on how many people attend and how many photographers there are in relation to cosplayers. The more photographers, the more chances for people to wander off for a bit and get some smaller group, or even one on one time in front of the camera. But there's usually at least one or two big group photos by the end, as well as some silly group shots. ^_^

I'm really tempted to see how much of the Assassin-Cross (RO) I can get done in time ... since I haven't been able to talk myself out of making it yet. It all depends on how much progress I make on my Toronto Trek costumes in how short a time. Otherwise I'll try and fix up Phoenix for some much needed camera time. Anyone else up for RO silliness? ^_^

Earlier I was thinking about wearing Link for this, but I damaged my ears (the real ones) by wearing the fake ears at AN...so I don't think I can wear it for a while, at least until my own ears heal. -_-; (but I really want nice pictures of it....)

...as a result of this, I'll most probably be wearing RO swordman/woman thing to this BBQ, unless people start planning something different. ^_^

I'll most likely come.. can't confirm for sure cause it's gonna depend on how hard it is for me to get there... also, Cin has to request it off work.. hmmm...

I am starting to doubt my wearing of InuYasha, cause since this heat wave I've been thinking "Its too hot...even with a tube top!!" So depending on the temperture that day, I may or may not wear THAT costume imparticular. I'll have to think up a replacement costume if it is too too hot for it.

Would it be a problem for anyone if we requested NO weapons of any kind? (ie, say no to anything larger than a naruto kunai?)

Its a public park with tons of kids (probably) and I'd rather not have us raise an alarm or anything.

Let me know what you all think. ^_^

I might have to change my costume plan then. I'm so horrible at posing for photos, and it really helps to have a prop to hold onto, so I was going to be bringing a wooden sword for my RO costume. Maybe I'll just wear Yuna or Link after all (unless the staff or shield would be a problem for those).

heki-chan
06-11-2005, 10:57 PM
Yeah like Michi said, if its extremely obvious that its a fake (like...a blue sword) or its a toy, then it should be okay. Yuna's staff and things similar would be okie I think ^_^

but anything gun-like we shouldn't bring at all.

Brita_Lee
06-11-2005, 11:38 PM
In THAT case, I could wear my Dejiko costume which requires NO weapons at all, and its a little cooler than my InuYasha costume. I should have furry boots by then for GCAF, so it all works...

Ahahahah.. I don't think anyone will have a problem with fans.. I think the point Heki is trying to get across is nothing that would hurt someone.. or anything that appears to be too close to it's real life counterpart.

Examples...

Guns = bad... unless it's some futuristic ray gun and it completely looks fake.

Swords... well nothing that resembles anything real like a kitana, etc. unless it's very obvious it's fake (like bright colors etc.) If the sword itself is hugely unrealistic (as in a human sized sword being held in one hand) then it's obvious it's a prop and should be fine....

Unless the rules at this park are stricter then most other places... Heki?

just make sure no guns, or real knives/katanas, or things that *look real*

Not that its super important, but my costume plans have changed at little. I'll be making the High Wizard (from RO) instead of the Asassin-Cross (I bought the fabric for the first one months ago, so I might as well make that one first.) At least that way I don't have to carry around and big weapons.

Winnie, if you need to fill your cooler(s) with ice, you can bring them to a McDonald's and ask them to fill them for you. I don't know if all stores will do this, but my store does, as well as a few others I've been to. Its free, and might be helpful if you don't have enough ice packs to keep all the food cold. ^_^

Hey, Alexia, I'm in the same boat as you. I'm trying to find a bus route that goes from the Clarkson area up to the park. I think I should take the 13 to the 1 along Dundas, but Mississauga's transit page is otherwise useless when it comes to figuring out exact timings of buses.
Anyway, if I do come, I'll be wearing my Yuna costume. It works out well because it looks semi-normal for the bus ride, sans the obi and staff.^___^

Ah, I've been digging around on the Go Transit website, apparently there is a stop right at Erindale. I'm thinking about taking it, though it's going to be about $50 for bus from my place to there, but it'll be fun. Also I think there is a GO bus that goes from the Clarkson terminal to Erindale...not sure.

I'm not sure if I should go as the Lulu that I wore to AN, or Kikyou...I should do a poll.

Lulu or Kikyo???
As much as I'd like to get pictures of the Lulu costume, it's wayyyyy too hot for an august shoot.

Oh, and at this point I am 100% going, just to confirm, I just need to figure out the transfers and all that stuff

Kia
07-11-2005, 12:14 AM
I checked out the Mississauga Tanisit website for info, and I presume I'm finding all the same information that everyone else is. I've linked to two PDF maps that might help people who are more visual learners, like me. ^_^

Mississauga Transit Clarkson/Erin Mills Area Map (http://www.mississauga.ca/ecity/download/?repositoryKey=Ecity&itemDesc=file&dataName=data&mimeTypeName=mimeType&id=6800012)

Mississauga Transit Saturday Schedule (http://www.mississauga.ca/ecity/download/?repositoryKey=Ecity&itemDesc=file&dataName=data&mimeTypeName=mimeType&id=6800006)

Alexia Ishtar - The Go Transit Erindale Station looks (to me anyways) to be a distance from the park itself, or at least the enterance on Dundas (don't even know if there's another one ...) I have no experience with that GO Station, so I'm really of no help there. Hopefully one of the maps above will give you some transit options. But I do know that there isn't a GO Bus from the Clarkson GO, just the train. The bus to Erindale would probably leave from Union Station, or the Go Stations in the other direction (north west) of it.

kuko-chan - I'll probably be taking the exact same route as you (unless I can bum a ride off anyone ^_^), so the 13/48 and then the 1(c) are the only direct routes I know of. If you, or anyone else wants to schedule their route exactly (time wise), then just call one of the two Mississauga Transit info lines: 905-615-4BUS, or 905-615-INFO (4636). The first # is the automated service, which is only really useful is you already know your bus stop #, the second one is where you can talk to a real person. ^_^

Hope some of this helps. ^_^

There is a bathroom ... I think I've used it before... (last time I was at that park was at least 2 years ago, so I don't remember that much about it). But Heki would know better than I would. ^_^

The bathroom should be open, but it's occassionally locked and (much like the High Park bathrooms) is probably not the cleanest one you've ever seen. Other than that, there's not a lot of cover in the park. There are apparently 6 "comfort stations", but the only one I recall seeing is the one at the main parking lot.

This is probably a good time to remind everyoen to bring sunscreen! ^_^

If you want to Mapquest the park in order to get driving directions, the address is 1695 Dundas Street West. The nearest main intersection is Dundas Street / Mississauga Road. In terms of buses, call 905-615-INFO (4636) for exact directions on which buses to take at what time, etc. The 1, 1C, 24 and 44 all stop at Dundas/Mississauga Road (to my knowledge). The park entrance is just east of that intersection. The entrance to the park is on the north side of Dundas. The 1 and 1C run from Islington Station.

QUESTION ABOUT FOOD, PEOPLE!!!!! ^o^

Option 1:
Heki can bring all of it for people, HOWEVER, we just found out that this summer, most of our dads' decided to throw away their grills. SOOO therefore, if you have one that we can use, that would totally rock.

And food will consist of:
-Hotdogs + related condiments (maybe even BURGERS! WHOA!)
-Pop
-Chips

[Mainly cuz my last exam is Thursday, so I only have friday to blitz for food/stuff haha!]

And the cost would be $5/person, more or less, depending how many people *actually* show up, and how much you wanna eat. (ie, if you wanna eat 5 hotdogs, you'd obviously chip in more than a person who has 1 ;D )

OPTION 2: POTLUCK.
Everyone brings something, which will be assigned.
But we'd still need a grill. o_o

I vote for option 1!

I don't think anything will survive in my car on the way there except for soda-related drinks, (which I am willing to buy!) sooo any kind of pot-luck thing wouldn't work for me. Besides, I have no ability for cooking/making/buying food for other people. I tried to help with picking out food for Trek, and I just end up getting junk-food. Like pringles!

I don't have a grill either. >_> sorry...

But, if there's anything else I can help with, let me know.

*I should really be asleep by now!*

For me, I say option 1. Also, I was wondering is anyone like to meet up at Islington Station and take the bus to the park as a group? That way many people won't have trouble or getting lost looking for the place. As for the meeting time, I'm still trying to figure it out, maybe 1:30 or 2:00 something? Or is that too late? Anyway, let me know what you guys think and I'll try to come up with something.

If we're all meeting at the park for 2pm anyway (I could be wrong, I haven't looked over the original info in awhile) then I'd suggest your group meets up at Islington at at least 1:15, maybe even 1pm (because you might end up waiting for a bus), since its not the shortest bus ride I've ever been on. But then again, I might be paranoid and over planing a little. ^_^

I vote for option #1, but I would encourage people to bring their own treats to share as just a snack after Heki's main food. ^_^

I should have a grill around my house somewhere. I'll ask my dad about it. ^_^

Heki, I think everyone should PM you, or say here for sure if they're coming or not, or else you might end up buying too much/too little food (whici might not be a problem, if you have someone who could run out an make an emergency food trip, but if not, we might be in trouble). I was talking to JustinCredible yesterday, and he says he's going to try and make it, so it got me wondering who else we might not be planing for, since we don't know if they're coming or not. Having resonably accurate #'s might help. ^_^

My mo says we have a wood burning one out on our balcony. We're welcome to use it, but it hasn't been touched in maybe 2 years, so she can't guarentee anything. That, and we'd need wood. And maybe a second grill, because its not that big if we're feeding 30 people. ^_^

If u guys are still in need of a grill why not just use one at the park? From the pics that i've seen, they already have a grill over there and i figure all u guys would probably need is the starter fluid and some matches. u can also get some starter charcoal at any Dominions or Loblaws if that'll help also and all u'd have to do is just dump the charcoal in there and use some matches. Hopefully everything works out ^_^

I'll check while I'm at work today for different sizes and costs. I'll write down some information of what I can find and post later tonight after work (around 10pm or so). If you can get back to me on it before tomorrow at 10 am, when I work next, I can pick it up ^_^ I wouldn't expect to pay more than maybe $50 but I really don't ever look at the price of charcoal BBQs. We sell way more propane ones but those cost an arm and a leg.

I've gone back and searched up the info we had from last year's Kariya Park picnic. To quote Mage:

The entrance is on Kariya Dr.

Essentially, what you'll see is a bunch of smooth grey stone steps leading up to an oriental-ish wooden gate with a clear shiny sign telling you what a wonderful thing it is to have a sister city like Kariya and that the park's a celebration of that, etc., etc.

The entrance is across the street from the now-out-of-business Pomegranate night club) and Kariya Dr. is directly opposite the Bank of Montreal at Square One.
There is a map from Square One HERE (http://www.mississauga.ca/ecity/download/;jsessionid=P4VUCHDPF0PNBTRPH3XSFE4OF25W2JVC?repos itoryKey=Ecity&itemDesc=file&dataName=data&mimeTypeName=mimeType&id=12200112)
For people coming from Islington Station, there are a number of Mississauga Transit buses that go to Square One. The 26 and 20 are two that come to mind, but I might be horribly wrong there.

Ok, so what you're saying is that we wasted money and preparing food for something that's changed at the LAST SECOND??? Why go ask JUST BEFORE the main event and make us find out the hard way?!?!?! It's very depressing and superbly unorganized. How pathetic and such a letdown, man! Majority of the ppl on this thread can vouche for me.. DEFINITELY.

Another bone to pick about this disaster is the grill. I mean, why ask for a grill from ppl and you're the ones who started this whole thing? Don't you think it's rude to even ask? For example, inviting friends over to your house and expecting at least one of them to cook. ..Unbelievable.. Another example is like asking a photographer or fellow cosplayer to take a photo of you using his/her camera! We'd actually think that the one asking to take their own photo would have the brain size of a pea!!! Honest!

As I mention before, I'm still comming, all I need to know is which bus I must take at Islington station to square 1 and from there I just walk to Kariya park right? The meeting place and time is still the same right? I know i work in the morning untill 12:00 so I may arrive at Islington Station around 1:15-1:20 or less. So anyone going to Kariya park by bus and would be interested in meeting me at Islington station around 1:15-1:20?

There is an awful lot I could say about how incredibly rude your post is, but I'll leave it at: if you don't like the situation, DON'T ATTEND.

If you want a different type of get-together, plan it yourself. Don't complain about something you've had no hand in organizing, and don't embarrass yourself by using hyperbole like "disaster" and "pathetic" when it's neither necessary nor even applicable to the situation.

And most of all DO NOT claim you speak for "most of the people in this thread" when you clearly do not.

Regarding the change of plans, I'm sorry to hear that Heki! But I'm still planning to come out, my main reason for coming is to see people that I don't usually get to talk to beyond a rushed "Hi!" at conventions. I haven't been to Kariya park yet, so it sounds like a good backup location to me. :)

I'm actaully really happy it's at Kariya Park now since it's really beautiful and I know how to get there. XD

On the topic of food, I still plan on making Mushroom Risotto and bringing it there. Perhaps people can cook things in the morning and bring it with them and we'll eat before socializing/taking photos so the food won't get cold and stuff. ^^
So even if we don't have thr grills and can't BBQ there, that's no reason why we still can't have food. =)

Just let me know if no one else can get/afford one, and I'll pick one up tomorrow while I'm getting some drinks and stuff. (I know for sure now that I have a car to bring more stuff in).

I have no problem with the location change (mississauga is still mississauga, kariya park is pretty!), and I know that heki was trying for a long time to get in contact with erindale park, so it isn't her fault at all. >_<

I'm gonna keep this short cuz I'm tired. :reverse:

1. I have been trying to reach the Park Reservations people for well over a month; via email as well as phone. And then I moved to 2 cities over, and am too poor to afford to set up my house phoneline. Thus my wonderful (noncosplaying friend, btw) offered to help me to continually contact the office.
We JUST got a hold of them yesterday.

I apologize I didn't think of this BBQ thing back in January when Area E was not booked yet. Perhaps next year?

2. At the time of inital planning, we DID have a grill. My family's. And then 2 weeks or so ago, my dad tells me he randomly decided to throw it out.
Also, I don't think its "rude" to ask friends for help in regard to the grill *blinks*. I may be the person who suggested it, but by no means is this "my" bbq. It is everyone's.

I'm not gonna say anything else cuz it's not exactly constructive anyways.
If you think I'm a bad organizer, that is fine by me.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

In other news, we for sure can't grill at Kariya park (fire hazard regulations)

But I think PIZZAPIZZA can deliver to the park right? If anything we can do that. ^_^

Sorry again for the change in plans :blubber:

Kariya is fine with me. At least I already know how to get there ^_^

I looked in to a grill at work today and it was $50 for the only decent one that we also happened to have in stock, so that's sort of out of the question methinks. I'll still chip in and bring in a case of water (24, so there may not be enough for everyone, sorry :\) or maybe some sort of food if I can find something between finishing my prop. The current forecast for Mississauga on Saturday is 30C and sunny! We're in luck!

Ok, so what you're saying is that we wasted money and preparing food for something that's changed at the LAST SECOND??? Why go ask JUST BEFORE the main event and make us find out the hard way?!?!?! Not a letdown or disapointment, just a change of plans. So far you seem to be the only person in this 'majority' to be unsatisfied with this change in plan. Not like it was overly preventable nor at the last second. We still have two days to prepare for it. At least we didn't find out Saturday morning or worse yet, once we ARRIVED at the park. Also, as long as you don't require a grill, the food is still usable, just in a different location. If you do use a grill, I'm sure the food won't go to waste and can still be used at home.

Things happen last minute and things change. Life's funny that way. We just have to deal with it in our own ways. At least Heki's taken the time to replan it and be accommodating to try to keep it in a somewhat similar setting and location. If you aren't satisfied with the change in plans, no one is forcing you to attend. It's your loss though.

can you not appreciate the fact that someone started this? organizing.. it's a hard thing you know.. you didn't step up and organize this.. so i think you have to be more appreciative of the fact that this is a gathering.. yes the last minute changes are unfortunate, but don't think that they planed it.. you know these things are always changing it isn't proffesionally run, it's a group of friends that have decided to open their bbq idea to the cosplay community in order for friends to gather, for strangers to get to chill with other you know?

i believe that you should appologize, because you aren't respecting the fact that this is all for fun and with fun, there are bound to be mistakes.

Honest!

Now that there is NO GRILL @ Kariya Park, no BBQ right? *cough|change title|cough*

Deal with it.
or, Go die.
Kthx.

ok... dudes its one post... and even heki commented already, the plans to change have been made, reactions: piss-ness, sadness, disappointment, and acceptance has past

last minute changes to long term plans are bound to be met with high tensions, this isn't the first time someone posted something like this on cosplay.com nor will it be the last
so
let just let it be ^_^

telling people to "go die" isn't really doing much lol all it does is stirs up what has already been settled

so I have to sorta say that is just as immature and rude

I'm not trying say who is right or wrong but really guys don't you have better things to do like organize and cook to adapt to the last minute changes rather than trying to start a flame war?

ok we should start to organize who is bringing what now cuz there is only like a day left >.<

I am bringing those azn rice cracker thingys agian + other stuff (unknown atm)

wow so much animosity. look guys sure the words by uzumaki83 may have been a bit blunt but he's just expressing how he feels and he has a right to voice his opinion. now if it was me i would've chosen a different way of saying it but i dont think that ppl should just bash him of what he's sayin and stuff. he has his right to free speech. hopefully this will all just die down and we can have a fun time at the picnic? ^_^

btw, i'll be bringing samosas so if anyone's not afraid of spice, go ahead and try some. see u all on saturday ^_^

Or do people like jamaican beef patties???? (are there peanuts in them??)
If so, me and my sister can microwave an assload and wrap them in tinfoil or something =D

++++++++++++++++++

Thanks for the people posting maps/directions =D I'm crappy with stuff like that ^o^

I'm gonna be PMing and emailing everyone who had RSVP'd, and it'd be cool if you can let your friends know about the change in locations ^___^

Heki, are you still bringing a cooler (for drinks and such), or do you want me to try and dig out my massive one?

I think the potluck will be fun. I'll talk to my mom and see what we have around the house, either that or Infini and I might have to attack a groshery store on our way (sorry Infini! But my work schedule and my exam have kept me in one of two places all week  ) Since Kariya is so small, I guess the grill is out, so I'll leave mine at home.

I wonder if we'll crash any weddings again? ^_^

Have to start working on my costume tonight ... stupid work and school ... it'll probably just be one of my Ayumi costumes, since I don't really have time for anything else. Damn, Kariya would have been perfect for pictures with Matsuri. :(

In case there's not enough food, etc. remember that there's a Subway literally across the street from the park. So even if you don't want to walk to the mall in costume, there's still that option. =)

I'll be coming right from work, so I'm not sure whether I'll be able to bring a costume OR food/drink. =(

I'll pick up some pop and stuff today, and I'll bring my cooler as well tomorrow. I'll grab some paper plates/cutlery, and a garbage bag or two as well (no littering should happen!). ^_^

hm... is anyone opposed to very spicy foods? I might make a korean rice cake dish called dukbokki, and it uses lots of red pepper sauce and powder. @_@ I'll still make Jap chae, but dukbokki will be an interesting dish for others to try ^-^

Hopefully it'll be stress free and no one chases us out of the park.

Yay! Now I don't have to drag out mine! ^_^
I'm even up for ordering pizza, if we're lacking on the food front. Of course, everyone interested would be pitching in for that as well. ^_^

I bought things!

I got 4 cases (12 cans ea) of pop, two 2L bottles, and a big case of water. I also got paper cups (100), plates (40), napkins (in case people bring stuff), forks..... and garbage bags. And a Nintendo Power magazine, because there are cosplayers in it. XD

I guess I'll see everyone tomorrow at Kariya.

I was going to pick up a case of water tomorrow *shakes fist at Infini* but I'll raid No Frills before I leave tomorrow and before I get in to costume :P Maybe I'll just grab some chips and whatnot...

Ah well. Time to get back to my prop. Hopefully I'll get everything painted/attached by tomorrow so I can bring Chrno's box with me, minus straps.

I like patties if they're not TOO spicy (And no, they don't have peanuts) XD

And I decided what I'm going to wear. I like to call it "closet Ishida"...It's Ishdia from Bleach made from whatever I can find in my room because I'm lazy and don't feel like frying in my other outfits.

Today was fun! I hope my film turns out....

I was stupid and left the memory card for my camera at home (about an hour away from where the actual camera was). I brought tons of batteries this time, and it still didn't do any good. >_<

Next time I'll hopefully get more photos, and maybe more people will be in costume! I felt bad for not dressing up this time. Anyway, it was nice to see people I knew again, and also nice to meet people I haven't seen before. Sorry I don't talk much. I'm really a very dull person. ^_^;
