It's like God is tickling my ear.

With a tag line like that, I need to hear it ^_^

Any site links?

Hmm, I'd have to suggest downloading their stuff for a sample! Describing music is always so tricky. If you catch me on AIM later this evening, I can send you a bunch of songs if you like.

If the proverbial gun was held to my head and I had to put it in words, I'd have to describe them as just pure J-Pop fun. They're one of those bands (to me) that's not really remarkable in any way other than the fact that they make really good pop music. Just perfect 3-minute pop rock and roll songs.

Just IMHO anyway. Others may not be into them :-)

Sounds good, I'll shoot you an AIM tonight.

JohnBoooty with 3 o's right?

Yup yup!

(This sentence is random filler because it told me that "yup yup" was too short!)

I dunno... I really didn't like Puffy Ami Yumi... But I do have their album, so I'll listen to them again prolly tonight. ^^

Hmmm.... sounds familiar. I think they were featured in ELLEgirl in an issue. Very cool magazine (they show Japanese clothing! ^_^) But yeah, what do they sound like?

They're just a happy J-Pop band. I think they're a cut above most of the rest though. Their songs are pretty varied stylistically (one song even sounds like a Who ripoff/tribute) which is neat!

It's a pretty subjective thing!

ooh cool! ^_^ I'll try to find that issue of ELLEgirl, but I might've thrown it away. *_* <3 the who

^^; are they a new band or do they have a lot of CDs out already?

This is odd that they seem so mysterious. I mean, they toured in America not that long ago (with the beginning of the tour starting at AX right?) Um, in Japan, it's just Puffy, if that helps. I think one of them is married to Takanori (as in TMR.) My boss is so into them X_X

But Booty's right. True, not remarkable in any way other than a perfect and consistant example in their genre. I am not into cute female j-pop, but they do a solid job and don't annoy me as most of the hyper-y girls tend to. (we need more female j-rockers out there, is what. I can think of like 2 1/2 total.)

There's a compilation out in America called Japan for Sal vol. 2 (at least i'm pretty sure that's what it's called) it has one of Puffy's songs, Atarashii Hibi, plus other songs from tried and true artists like L'arc~en~Ciel and some newcomers.

I'm only bringing this up 'cause it's probably the cheapest way to get a hold of one of their songs... >.> unless you download from the net... >.> which now that I said it... is really what everyone is going to do (hell that's what i've been doing). <.< >.>

If anyone plays the arcade game Guitar Freaks 8th Mix or Drummania 7th Mix, they also have a song called Ai no shirushii.

I love posting without having any real sense of direction v^_____^v

I'm really not seeing the Beatles connection, other than in a "this is good pop music kind of way", but whatever! I like them both. ^_^

I've only heard two Puffy songs, but I liked them. ^_^

The one that was married to Takanori, er, they had a divorce. The other one's married to Teru from Glay, I believe. I can't tell them apart, so sue me. o_x

i used to listen to them but i'd have to be in that 'mood' i guess! they call their style of music vintage rock,, but its really more just fun or kiddie music. i missed seeing them at anime expo this year! *sniff* i hope they come back

Puffy...I remember when I lived in Philly a couple years ago, there was the Chinese Arts & Crafts in Chinatown and there was one Puffy CD there that I just kept looking at because it seemed interesting...but I had already had my share of blindly buying a j-pop/anime soundtrack cd from that store and not loving it as much as i wanted...

Recently though, I ended up DLing their songs after listening to one randomly and going OMG THATS THE BAND!! Me freaking out is because like FOUR years ago I was listening to Drexel University's college radio and some guy played 2 japanese rock songs...one was Bye! My Boy! by The Brilliant Green ...and the other turned out to be by Puffy Ami Yumi.

They're really awesome. It has something to do with the two girls combined voices when they sing...it's just...like everyone said, really good poppy rock n roll stuff. My fave song by them so far is Umi Heto...
