I thought I'd start a thread to share how everyone's costumes are going for Connecticon!

I just really got started on Queen Mab, but already she's coming along nicely. I've got the dress and cloak pieces almost completely cut out, and the wig sort of started (been planning and looking at it). I'd do more right now, but I'm too hungry to cut anymore fabric.

So, share!

My progress on my moomba costume is not going so well. I have the orange fabric but no white fabric. I also have the pattern and that is cut out but I need to alter it. This weekend I'm going to be making the ears and possibly the tail. I'm also going to buy face paint and that should be easy to do.

I keep waiting for my mom to take me to buy fabric, but then half the time when I complain about the increasingly less time I have she acts like its my fault! I don't have a paying job and I don't like driving on the highway! how am I supposed to get to JoAnne's AND afford my fabric without her!? gah...you'd think being a legal adult would give you more independance than this...

....I haven`t even started that flippin` Chii costume. o_o Juri is almost done though! But it better be because I need it by Saturday. o_O;

Now I'm 25% done with my moomba costume. I have the ears done. I just have to attach them to the headband. I have the shirt fabric cut out but I'm confused as how to make it so I'll wait until tomorrow. The pants are going to be all done by tomorrow. I have enough fabric left over to make part of the tail. Tomorrow I'm going out to finally get face paint. That just leaves my paws.

I got fabric today!! YAY! I can't start yet though. We still don't have a designated sewing space in our house yet, so I need to find out which room I'm allowed to take over for the next three weeks. I'll hopefully start everything Monday, since I'll be away tomorrow. Oh! I'm so excited!!

I've decided not to make another Resident Evil costume like I was going to, and just make the Dead or Alive costume I wanted to do. I have most of the pieces, I just need to make a sweatshirt for it. Hopefully one of my friends will be coming over tomorrow to help me work on it. :jjacks:

I'm most likely going to be Ran Fan from Fullmetal Alchemist. Hopefully, some people will recognize me from the manga.

ohhhhh! I went to The Fabric Place today (its somewhere near Newport, RI; I think) and they had the PERFECT fabric for my costume!!!! all of it! I still have to make my patches 'cause there were no applicays that are close enough, but as soon as I come back (I'm going to a friend's house for the weekend) on monday I'm starting it! yay! finally!

O! I'm so sorry Chrisee! That's so sad ;_;

We're about 80% done! Whee! My sister and I have been working on them since December, but we're first timers, so it's been rough ^_^; That, and we're major procrastonators.

I've just got some sleeves to sew on and a LOT of little details I'd like to fix and I'm done :jjacks:

My new costume (Leifang) is almost done. I have all of the pieces for the costume and my friend and I finished the shirt today. All I have to do is paint the panda logo on it. ^_^;; It's going to look so cute.

Mab is just about done. The cloak is at the dry cleaners, and I just finished styling the wig. All I have left to do is finish glazing some props (so they're shiny) and attatching the accesories to the wig.

PANDA! :love: I usually cheat and use the little print-out screen iron-on things for logos! I hope I see you! That's a cosplay I've been wanting to do, though I don't have much experience with the game. Also I'd feel like I was betraying Christie...I just love pandas >.< I usually cheat and use the little print-out screen iron-on things for logos!

I love pandas too! When I saw that costume of Leifang's I knew I wanted to make it. :thumbsup:

I thought about using an iron-on transfer, but I plan on wearing the sweatshirt a lot, and transfers tend to peel after a while. >.<

I finally finished Mab! I really want to redo the beading on the wig before next week, and I also have to make a new pin, because one of them broke. Sad...But other than that, it's done!
