Suikoden has a lot of characters... couldn't find a Suikoden cosplay thread, so I thought I'd start one.

So... anyone planning to do a Suikoden cosplay?

I'm really wanting to cosplay Jacques from Suikoden 3... so quietly cool, and carrying around a huge bowgun just looks cool.

I would love to cosplay characters from the Suikoden series! Unfortunatly, I'm new to cosplaying and I'm not very good at putting costumes together. But it is something I'd like to do in the future.

I'd like to go as Sasarai, Luc, Riou, the fourth Hero, Sheena, or perhaps Nanami. Maybe even Templton and Connell. It all depends, and there's so many costume choices!

Eek! I definitly want to! I haven't really decided which to do, but my friend is doing the Pirate Kika from Suikoden 4.

Right now I'm working on a Sierra outfit...just putting the finishing touches on the skirt, hehe. I'm also making my boyfriend a Nash outfit...I just think it will be so cute!

You can find a good Yuber and Pesmerga here:

That looks like it took a lot of work.

I've made a Lady Chris:

Search the Member Galleries, and you'll find some nice Chris cosplayers. (Not too many though,- that costume is probably the hardest one I've ever done to date.)

thats cool.
For a con next year I have a Suikoden III group happening...we have:
Sasarai, Dios, Albert, Ceasar, Luc, Sarah, Hugo, Lulu, Aila, Anne, Nash and Jimba.

I would totally want to join in on this Suikoden group, but what convention would we be attending? I'm only going to Anime Boston, AX, and Comic-con.

There used to be a lot of Suikoden threads but I think they just died out, unfortunately. I've made three Suikoden costumes: Seed from II (http://www.angelsanctuary.com/rosiel/cosplay/seed1b.jpg) (I desperately need better photos), Yuber from III (http://images.cosplay.com/showphoto.php?photo=59180), and Luc's coat from III (http://images.cosplay.com/showphoto.php?photo=192768) for a friend. I started an Albert from III also but never finished it.

I'm very disappointed at the designs from IV, so I won't cosplay from it. I don't really have any definite plans on the Suikoden front, other than the fact that my boyfriend and I were thinking of making a Yuber and Pesmerga pair since he is so organised and I'm... not. >_>

My two favorite Suikoden cosplay experiences were at Anime Expo 2003 and Otakon 2003 where we had huge gatherings for Suikoden III and II respectively. I really need to upload a photo of the Suikoden III group, but I have one of the Suikoden II group (http://images.cosplay.com/showphoto.php?photo=68295), which is a bit incomplete, but by the time everyone was gathered random cosplayers from other series jumped in the shot so I didn't post those.

This is my favorite Suikoden cosplay photo, especially considering the person who was supposed to be Sarah did not attend the convention last minute and we found this lovely girl who agreed to wear it for us. Luc and Sarah, spoiler. (http://images.cosplay.com/showphoto.php?photo=68250)

Apologies for the long ramble, but I can't help myself when the topic of Suikoden comes up!

Oh man, I'd love to cosplay Flik or Gremio (from 1 yo). Maybe next year. Unfortunately, I don't think enough people really played the first game that it would really be well known.

If I cosplayed as Flik, people would probably think I was from Ragnorok, and if I cosplayed Gremio people would think I was a Gouri cosplayer with an axe, heh.

hehe...I agree with the whole Gourry with an axe thought. Poor, Suikoden-ignorant masses...

Hehe, I just love my Sierra skirt...It's coming along so nicely...

I might go as Aila from Suikoden III for Katsucon next year. If there's going to be a gathering for Katsu, count me in! ^^

Hey, you cosplay, too? Cool to run into you here. I'm one of the fellow Nash/Sierra freaks from Harmonia Online. I think I go by Edtelocesaresesh there, though. The name was too long to use here >.<

I've cosplayed Hai Yo, and I think I'm one of the only people who has ever done him. The pics aren't hard to find in my gallery, since it's the only costume I've done so far. It's not done yet, though. I still need those squiggly things at the bottom close to the trim.

Next year, I'll be doing S2 Neclord.

Suikoden is one of the very few things that make me go fangirly. XD Suikoden Cosplay in particular!

To date, I've made 3 Suikoden costumes and am in the progress of making a 4th. ^_^ I've cosplayed as Tir, Tomo and Jillia. Take a look at my gallery for photos. =)

I'm making Nanami (S2) right now, and hopefully I'll have it ready for Otakon and cons/photoshoots afterwards. (I'm really excited about possibly meeting my favourite SuikoCosplayers at Otakon! Hopefully my shyness level allows for that. XD)

I'm someone who's on a mission. There's little or no cosplay love for Suikoden I or II these days and everyone is making costume sfrom Suikoden III or IV. Maybe I'm just biases because most of the designs in III and IV don't appeal to me and the games I didn't like the games thesmevles as much.

But yeah, there should be more S1 and S2 love.</fangirl rant>

I agree, but I personally wouldn't make any costumes from the original Suikoden. I loved the game and the characters and all, but I think their outfit designs are too simple. Out of all the games, I think Suikoden II has the most interesting costumes and characters, and that's the game I'll probably make most of my costumes from.

Unfortunatly, many fans of the first two Suikoden games dislike the third and fourth in the series. I think that's a shame. I loved every Suikoden very much, and I'm sure I'll love the next installment as well. What's even more unfortunate is that some people say they dislike III and IV just to follow the trend, because they believe only "newbie" Suiko fans like those games.

Hmm... After NDK I'll write up a list of all the characters I might cosplay. Since I'm still new to this, I'd like to make a costume that doesn't involve any armor or weapons (as I have... no idea how to make/find such things).

I've cosplayed Suikoden! I made GSIII's Yumi for AX2004. It was pretty fun to make, although only true Suikoden fans recognized me! XD Though, the costume itself did attract a lot of attention & photographers last year, because it is a rather unique outfit.

Though, I am more than likely not going to cosplay Suikoden again. There aren't any other characters in GSIII that appeal to me.

It is nice to see that other people are still into the Suikoden series, though! XD

Actually, I've only ever played Suikoden III.

*sweatdrop* Yup, I'm making Sierra's outfit, but I've never actually played Suikoden II. I just loved Nash, and of course when you love Nash, you learn more about his little missus, Sierra. Then I loved her too ^_^

Gosh let's see... my boyfriend and I have done...

Suikoden II:
Jillia Blight, Rowd, Sierra Mikain, Nash Latkje and are hoping to eventually do (Unicorn brigade) Riou, and Rowd version III (Maybe cardstories stuff one day. I'm the world's only Rowd fan so you know how it goes ;> ) and a remake of Jillia as well. I would also like to be the world's smallest Luca Blight one day. :D

Suikoden III: Luc, Sarah, Duke, Elaine, Nash "Clovis", and Thomas. Was thinking maybe Sasarai some time.

Two is by far my favorite of the games. So X)...

Hey, Edtel!

Hehe, oh wow. Suikoden fans somehow always have a way of running into each other ^_^ Yup, I'm finally realizing my Nash/Sierra dreams...

If I could come to your con, we could take fake pictures of the Sierra/Neclord showdown. Neclord is going to be awesome. I'm going to boil, though. Three layers of black in late May. Maybe we'll have a cool one this year?

Two is my favourite, too, but I liked all the games in the series so far. Not sure about Rhapsodia, though. I'm not a big fan of tactics games, but I'll give it a chance, regardless.

Hopefully for AnimeFEST I'll be Odessa with a Flik and a Viktor. I'm the best seamstress (well, whatever the non-gender-specific equivalent would be) of the three of us, and I'm pretty bad, so I'm quite grateful that the Suikoden 1 designs are pretty simple. It's good for beginner cosplayers like us!

Someday, my boyfriend and I want to cosplay Wedding Jillia and Jowy. I've found very, very few reference pictures but I'm still looking. Of course it'll be a commission, since I'm worried enough about making ODESSA (simple simple simple!) - but it's going to be a very expensive set of commissions, so we're waiting til we have more cash between the two of us. My boyfriend would make a really good Jowy. I'll be a passable Jillia, I think.

I would LOOOOOVE to cosplay as an Alma Kinan girl. I've also thought about crossplaying Thomas someday, and I've had an offer to wear someone else's Sarah costume if they can get together a whole Luc-side group from III. And there's always the running joke that my sister and I should cosplay Windy and Leknaat, but that will never happen, I think.

I hated Suikoden 4. Or rather ... I didn't like it very much, and was unbelievably disappointed by it, and am choosing to pretend it more or less didn't exist. I love 1, 2, and 3, and I'm anxiously awaiting 5, but I do hope they get the actual Suikoden team back for 5 because it was sorely missed in 4. Viki has a great design in 4, though. Prettier than ever. By and large the art failed to impress me like 2 and 3's art did (I hear Suikoden 4 is by the artist of 1, and I hate the art in 1, so that doesn't surprise me).

I hope there are a lot of Suikoden cosplayers at Otakon. I will be keeping my eyes open. Also, if anyone plans on cosplaying Suikoden at AnimeFEST, we should meet up. If I get our costumes finished.

I still like the newer ones, just not as much as the compared to old ones. I'm just biased because I liked certain games from the series more than others. XD

I want to make it too! At one point I actually videotaped that scene in the game so I'd at least have the pixel character as reference (Though I've lost the footage due to computer reformatting). I'm dead certain that artwork of the dress MUST exist somewhere, it's just nearly impossible to find it.

>> I hope there are a lot of Suikoden cosplayers at Otakon.

Me too! I'm trying really hard to get my Nanami (S2) costume done by then, or at least get it wearable. x__x

I have the suikoden II artbook and the only artwork of the dress and Jowy's uniform are little chibi doodles ;_; ROFL I've spent money on like every book available in an attempt to find reference for that set because I was going to do it with my boyfriend ( I might yet still anyway ), but I had no luck. The closest you'll probably get is maybe some doujin somewhere, where someone made their own take on it. :X

As for liking the older Suikoden's more than III and IV, I just plain like them more. No other reason than I just do. ... Well, with the exception that I can't stand IV's designs at all, really. XD

I've completed my Lilly Pendragon costume (SuiIII Version) some weeks ago but on the convention (here in Germany) another cosplayer was nice enough to put his lunch on my costume so it's all dirty and I cannot make any photos with the costume right now. :(

I'm planning on some other Suikoden cosplays as well like Tengaar (and for my boyfriend her boyfriend :P ) or Jillia or Viki *loves her* ^-^ Hopefully I can do some more Sui costumes next year ^-^

I only know Sui I and II right now but waiting to get my PS2 ready for US games (because Sui III wasn't released in Germany *snif* :( and I need the US version ^-^) and so I can't say which game I like most.
